In 2015, an estimated 28% of the Australian population was born ove

BENEFITS OF
MULTICULTURALISM
Evidences suggest that immigrants play an important role in creating
business activity and driving economic growth in Australia leading to
higher diversity in the labor forces and provide positive benefits to the
broad Australian economy.
The positive impacts of economic migration are clearly stated among the
skilled migrants and have shown positive consequences in areas
including population, fiscal influence, productivity and employment of
immigrants. (Rajadurai, 2018)
Migrants contribute to the growing population of Australia and
increasing consumption levels resulting into GDP and economic growth.
Migrants intake from 2014-15 would provide $10 billion
increase to the budget over next 5 decades.
Education is Australian third highest export industry at
$28 billion accounting for 7.5% of entire exports
contributed by international students.
Migrants attract capital inflow from the country and had
$12.4 billion positive impact on the economy.

CHALLENGES OF
MULTICULTURALISM
Opinion polls favours multiculturalism in Australia but
contradicted by opposition for further migration.
70% of opinion polls oppose the abolition of
multiculturalism policies.
The civic multiculturalism should be defended by
Australians so that they enjoy political endorsement
from every political party (House, 2013)
Multiculturalism fails to embrace Aboriginals society.
The Racial Discrimination Act is misunderstood over the
last 40 year, particularly section 18C (Laundy, 2016) .
Fpr endorsing Australian multiculturalism the Act
should be conserved and continue to be important for
Australian society's commitment for civility and respect
Another challenge of multiculturalism is extremism.
The Australian society must be prepared for repudiating
extremism targeting Muslim communities. (Markus, 2015)

CONCLUSIONS
Multiculturalim in Australia is reflected by the multicultural composition of its in
immigrationstandards,abolition of discrimination,equity before every law of the
individual and cultural policies promoting diversity.
The challenges undermining multiculturalism will be great in the coming
extension for confronting the issues of immigrant inequlaities of Aborigina
cohesion and justice.
Multicultural policies have provided great benefits against the extremes in
environment for relative peace and justice in Australian territory.
