2 OVERVIEW OF INTERNETWORKING Project Scope The main scope identified for the development of the network solution for the Primary school are given below: ï‚·To divide the network into different subnet for reducing the congestion in the network and increase the availability of the network device ï‚·To configure the network router device according to the business rules of the school ï‚·To identify the hardware and the software requirement for the development of the network solution. ï‚·To list the details the configuration that should be applied in the network device for meeting the needs of the primary school and connect the host with the network. ï‚·To create an IP address plan and follow it for the configuration of the sub interface of the router and the vlan inter-vlan routing for enabling the host to send and receive data packets in the network. ï‚·To configure the network is simulator software for the identification of the errors in the project before deploying in the real life environment. Network Requirements The main requirement identified for the development of the network solution are given below: ï‚·The network should be created with an evaluation on the recent technology and the network device that can be used for meeting the goals and objectives of the primary school. ï‚·A design of the current network should be created in Netsim and presented for the approval from the stakeholder such that the errors in the project can be identified in the preliminary stage of the network development. ï‚·The security of the network device should be identified and the layer three switch should be configured with access control list such that the access of the local area network is restricted for the guest users connected in different vlan. ï‚·The floor plan of the building should be analysed for the installed of the network device in different location of the building and the guidelines of the configuration of the server should be followed for the configuration of the network device. ï‚·The router should be configured with the DHCP configuration for automatically assigning the range of IP address to the device connected in the vlan. ï‚·The cost of the network device should be identified for the calculation of the network budget and listed for the development of the network solution.

5 OVERVIEW OF INTERNETWORKING Router Configuration DHCP Configuration Access Point, Server Configuration Guidelines There are different problem that can arise during the development of the network project and for eliminating the errors the guidelines should be followed and the network solution should be developed following the guidelines. Certain assumption should be made for the network design and they are listed below:
6 OVERVIEW OF INTERNETWORKING ï‚·There are 50 daily user connected with the local area network of the primary school and 10 guest user that occasionally connect with the network. ï‚·The network server and the primary user are separated from each other using different subnet and vlan such that the security of the network is improved. ï‚·The server needs to be configured as file server for sharing of different files with the primary and the guest user connected in the network. ï‚·The guest network should be installed with a wireless router for enabling the guest to connect their wireless device for enabling the guest to connect their wireless device with the primary school network. Security Configuration For increasing the security of the network the layer three switch should be configured with the access control list such that guest network is blocked to communicate with the primary user vlan. The access control list is applied on the vlan interface of the guest network and the security of the network is maintained. The screenshot of the access list is given below. Conclusion From the above report it can be concluded that with the development of the network framework for the primary school to eliminate the current problem faced by the organization. The router interface f0/0 is broken done into three sub interface for allocation of the IP address to the three vlan for connecting the server, primary user and the guest user connected in the network. The IP address is created and user centric design is created for the development of the network infrastructure. The design of the network is created by dividing the network into three network component such as core access and distribution. The router and the layer three switch are added in the core layer and layer two switch consists of the access layer and for the distribution layer the PC and the server are connected. A research is done on the new technologies that can be used for designing the network and the network protocols for the development of the network framework.
