INTRODUCTIONHealth and social care is term that relates to services which are available from well-beingand societal care workers. It is the generic term utilised to mean to entire of healthcare provisionsubstructure, public and private sector. It combines elements of sociology, biology, law andethics (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2016). Health and social care takeplace in nursery, residential home, hospital etc. This case study is based on Fleetwood HallHome. It is large care home set in grounds on outskirts of Southport. The home is registered togive accommodation for up 53 people across three units. This report will explain principles ofsupport are applied in health and social care practices. It will outline process for protectingclients and patients form harm. It will analysis benefits of person-centred approach withhealthcare users. Furthermore, report will explain implementation of policies, legislation andcode of practices in health and social care. It will evaluate impact of policy, legislation onorganizational activities. LO 11.1 Principles of supportapplied in health and social care practices Principles of support: The principles have been invented by working with individual with care and supportrequirements and social care workers. These values utilize to support manpower improvement bysocial care providers as well as supporting good mental well-being and welfare. These mentalillnesses are painful events. These principles support for achieving aim that is better copingskills. With the help of it, healthcare providers find strength in sharing experience in terms ofcared of individual health and social care. Through these principles, embrace humour as healthy.Furthermore, principles of support are such as following:Promoting dignity and respect.Maintaining safety and safeguarding duties. There are many principles for support that includes identification of mental and medicalillness and environmental devices (Aveyard, 2014)These principles include healthcare providers see all individual not illness. They do notdigest discrimination and never give up hope in relation to providing health and socialcare to individual. 1

Healthcare providers are able to know about treatment process, so that these principles ofsupport are very helpful. It is necessary to respect all patient's culture and beliefs by health care workers, becauseof people are come in centres of various society and feeling. It is needed to gain appropriate data from services users for making correct services andcaring plan. Healthcare providers setting and utilizing advance technology in well-beingand societal. It involves minimize risk and danger by conducting regular risk management for theservices users. Healthcare employers also develop abilities and knowledge of workers, sothat they are provided health and social care services effectively to patients.In addition to that, healthcare providers must have followed these principles of supportapplied for providing well-being and social care services to the individual (Baldwin,2016). 1.2 Procedure for protecting clients, patients and colleagues for harm The main objective is maintaining and supporting health and keep safe as well ascomfortable to clients, patients, staff and others. Healthcare providers follow process forprotecting clients and colleagues for harm (Brett and et.al., 2014). In this context, safeguardingto clients like minimize and prevent risk of harm from any kind of illnesses, abuse, exploitation,physical and mental health etc. So that, health care provider applies different steps for protectingharm.Identify the harm: In addition to that, it is necessary to identify causes of harm toclients, patients and colleagues in the workplace. For that, they are applied different ways toidentify the harm to client in the workplace. In case of colleagues, they are maintaining policy onregular basis in relation to protection of harm. Understand impact of harm: After identification of harm, it is necessary to understandimpacts by collecting information about harms (Cameron and et.al., 2014). With the help of it,they easily minimize the harms and protecting for client and colleagues in the workplace. In caseof colleagues, it necessary to reduce the workload, save time and energy for protecting harm tothem in the workplace. 2
