This presentation mainly focuses on outlining the procedures that
is used by the HSC setting for protecting their clients and
service users as well as staff from the harm and abusive
activities. Along with this, the presentation will also analyze
the benefit of using person centered approaches.

1.2 Procedure that would protect clients, co-
workers as well as patients
Recently I came across an incident of abuse of an
elderly person. A 70 year old women, Mrs. Sean was
being emotionally and physically abused by her son.
Her son was abusing her so that he could get money
from her. I came to know about this when I happened
to go to that lady’s room and her son had come to
meet her.

Measuring the level of risk
Documentation of incident
Reporting to senior authority
Taking action
