PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT Part 1: Project approach, Questionnaire and DSDM principles The project is about the way an auction website underwent digital revolution for having a better profit margin. From the case study it can be stated that the organization has made major changes stepwise so that they can reach towards the goal. From the above table it can be stated maximum people agrees to every needs related to the development of project (Sani et al. 2013). While developing the project it is observed that the questionnaire helps to understand the opinions of the employees associated with the organization. Moreover it can be stated that the project approach is done by following the Agile DSDM approach as the project is divided into different parts. This ensures that the project is being executed step wise without any error. The vision of every employee is being analyzed with the use of this questionnaire. DSDM is an agile method that focuses entirely on the lifecycle of the project. DSDM stands for dynamic system development method. This was developed in 1994 and offers more governance towards the development of the project (Riol and Thuillier 2015). The eight principles that are related to DSDM approach is that it aims at focusing on the main business needs, aims at delivering the product on time and collaborates effectively with the project managers. In addition to this DSDM approach always aims at developing a project that will never compromise with quality and will ensure development of the project iteratively. Thus it is important to have the project well demonstrated and should have a better communication among the main team members of the project. DSDM acts as the backbone for agile project management. Agile project management is basicallyan iterativeapproach of planning and guiding the projectprocess. The project processed by following agile software development is mainly done in small sections and are known as iterations (Brace 2018). The principle of agile project management includes attaining
PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT the customer so that they can be provided higher satisfaction and continuous delivery options can be offered to the customers. ETBH has developed the technology that will ensure providing proper shipping anywhere within the US and other parts of the world. They look after the interest of customers so that they can offer a better property to them with better price. The second principle of agile project management is to mitigate to new changes that will bring better advantage towards the organization (Brioso 2015). ETBH started aiming for a better market by improving the technology and getting shifted towards the digital technology for every transaction and business activities. It is observed that with digital transformation organization has able to grow the sales rate from $8 to $70 million (Ramayah et al. 2016). The third principle is related to deliver proper working software that will be developed within the short period of time. In addition to this agile management principle also states that the developers and management needs to work together so that they can achieve the project demand. The founder of the ETBH has initiated plans for connecting with families so that it becomes easy to understand the estate sale tradition of a family (Conforto et al. 2016). This will eventually help in expanding the business for achieving better benefits. The fifth principle states that it is important to develop a project around motivate individuals so that they can manage the project effectively. ETBH has developed its digital transformation in a way that it will attract more customers and will provide an effective market towards them. The main focus of the organization is to work on continued geographic expansion so that they can expand their market too maximum cities. In addition to this the organization aims at having an international market element for ETBH. The sixth principle states that it is important to have face to face interaction so that they can have effective and efficient modes of communication. With the help of digital revolution it will become easy to interact with the property dealers and the people

PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT interested in buying the project (Coyle and Conbo 2018). However the main criterion that is needed to be implemented within the project is to have working software that will have primary measure for progressing the project. The project of ETBH aims at having a digital revolution so that they can have a better control over the market. Apart from all this it is observed that with the implementation of agile process it becomes easy to promote sustainable development. The concept of sustainable development is related to the economic development without impacting the natural resources (Delima et al. 2018). The organization states that ETTBH offers an agile and flexible approach so that they can have a better knowledge regarding the website. Moreover the site is being developed in such a way that it offers a better transformation a[approach so that it can be protected from unauthorized persons. The software is developed in such a way that it can ensure that every customers are provided with proper browsing ability. The ninth principle that is offered with the agile process is that continuous attention needs to be provided towards the technical excellence so that they can have a better way of enhancing the agility. In the ETBH organization the website undergoes several changes every day so that they can maintain proper agility (Schmitz 2018). Tenth principle states that simplicity is an important aspect that is needed to be developed within the project. The website developed by ETBH offers better way of managing activities so that they can offer a better result. After analyzing the project approach it can be stated that the Agile PM principles are being used within the project effectively for providing better benefits towards the organization. Part 2: Resource After analyzing the case study it is observed that the main reason behind transforming the auction website into digital transformation. The main aim is to boost the sale and to have better market advantages that will bring a proper benefit towards the auction company. It is observed that after analyzing the company websites it is observed that the sale has increased after transforming from $8 million to 70% million (Dingsøyr and Moe 2013). The company is
PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT developed in a way that it can be operated in simple premise. The main responsibility of customer is to bid for an estate they want to buy. In addition to this the company also allows someone to sell the estate if they want to move to some other location. The organization offers a better way of shipping the products anywhere US and in other parts of the world. The responsibility of the EBTH is to offer better estate price within less time and with less effort. The organization offers the users with better knowledge and also allows bidding until5 to 7 days. EBTH has 27 markets in 22 different states around 3 million visitors (TechRepublic, 2019). The role of the website is to attract the customers with effective offers. The main roles played by the co founder of the organization as they aimed at expanding their website outside the US. The co founder has aimed at focusing on estate sale in Cincinnati with around an initial bidder base of 800 people. After the first six month it was observed that the growth has increased hugely that hasleadtoprovideabetterfranchise.Moreoveraccordingtothecofounderitisthe responsibility of the organization to connect with the families so that it becomes easier to understand their state of mind while selling the traditional estate. Proper interaction with the families will help in understating the story behind the product. The company started their expansion by expanding into nearby markets and then eventually started expanding to other location for the purpose of selling the items. After this the organization got associated with two more business partners that helped in developing their business (Fleming and Koppelman 2016). EBTH should be responsible for having a more substantial investment in technology so that it becomes easy to develop strategy at the time of shipping the products (Zafar, Nazi and Abbas 2017). The main role of the organization is to forecast the details associated with each product effectively so that it can ensure better growth towards the organization. Moreover with the development of the technology there is a need to
PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT allow the automated and proper identity for determining the constraints that will impact the growth rate. The organization has developed an option for setting the pickup and drop location of the items so that the shipping can be performed effectively within small time duration (Schwalbe 2015). However it will be beneficial if the organization starts focusing on listing the interest area of every customer so that they display the estate value that are liked by the particular customer (Coyle and Conboy 2018). Thus it is expected that the developed website will be able to offer better benefits towards the organization. Part 3: Requirements, prioritization and User stories MoSCoW prioritization is a part of DSDM method. This method includes developing a project based on a fixed time and it becomes important to understand all the relative importance so that the project can be completed within the deadlines. Thus it becomes important to describe therequirementsbasedonthepriorities.MoSCoWprioritizationismainlyusedfor understanding the priorities properly. The MoSCoW stands for: Must have , Should have, Could have, Won’t have. This methodology works effectively on every type of project. It helps in overcoming the problems that are associated with improper prioritization (Delima et al. 2018). Every project needs to have some effective requirements without which it will become difficult to deliver the project. It is important for every project to have a particular target so that they can work accordingly. Without this particular requirement it becomes pointless to have the project. The second reason for having this requirement is that without this requirement it becomes unsafe and the organization will not be able to deliver the solution towards the users (Almeida 2017). Thus every organization aiming at delivering a project needs to focus on the project requirements

PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT effectively so that they do not miss the important requirements related to the project. The second important factor of MoSCoW prioritization methodology is the requirements that project should have. This requirements are defined as important but not crucial for the organization. The project developed has the chances to fail if these requirements are not implemented however it is not an important requirement. The third important factor is the requirements that could have implemented within the project. This requirement basically wanted by the project however their absence won’t affect the project. These requirements have very less impact on the project and on the users (Abrahamsson et al. 2017). Won’t have is the last criteria that includes thee requirements that are not needed for the current project however it can be used in future project. Thus while implementing a project and prioritizing the project it becomes important to ensure that project is being implemented based on the MoSCoW prioritization. The priority levelssetbyMoSCoWincludesimplementingproperMoSCoWforproject,MoSCoW prioritization for the project increment purpose and MoSCoW prioritization for the timebox (Dingsøyr and Moe 2013). The main purpose of using MoSCoW prioritization is that it offers an effective way of managing the requirements. However DSDM recommend 60% efforts for the must have requirements towards the project and around 20% effort for could have. Thus it can be stated that the project with higher than 60% must have effort has the high chances of facing risks ad need to have proper predictability over the project (Fleming and Koppelman 2016).

PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT Authenticate bidders Appropriate plots These are the major requirements that are needed to be focused while working with the project. Apart from the requirements listed in the table it becomes important to have a proper data analysis strategy for understanding the way business is performing their task. The main concern of the organization is to gather the details regarding the geographic area in which the project can be expanded. The project needs to be developed in such a way that it will provide effective solution towards the organization (Anwer et al.2017). The organization has also set proper shipping strategy so that they can ensure better solution towards the users. They will work on providing instant shipping along with proper knowledge of drop and pick up details. User story is referred to the tool that is offered with agile software development for capturing a description of a software feature from the perspective of an end user. With the help of user stories it will become easy to understand the functioning the ETBH website. The main benefit that is offered with the user stories is that it increases the software success rate and also offers a better process for increasing the productivity (Baptista et al. 2016). However user stories helps in making proper senses without facing any problem and leads to understanding the requirements easily. User stories: As a customer
PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT I want to know about the property available for sell So that I can buy it as a future investment Part 4: Delivery plan and timeboxing Timeboxing Timeboxing plays a crucial role in the project management. This helps in managing the time that is needed for developing the project. This ensures allocation of fixed time period so that each activity can be completed within the allocated time. Timeboxing ensures that the project is being completed within the given time period. This is used as a project planning technique. The schedule is divided into different number of separate time periods. Each part oftheprojecthastheirownsetofdeliverable(Binder2016).Timeboxinghelpsin performing the project within a fixed scope. This includes defining the tasks that cannot be completed within a fixed amount of time. Thus in order to finish the project by meeting all the deliverable it becomes important to extend the deadline or to appoint extra people for completing the project. However once the project has included proper timeboxing it becomes important to ensure that the project is completed within the time so that it can reduce the chances of delay. In addition to this timeboxes are also used for the purpose of risk management so that it can determine the risks explicitly. While developing a project it is observe that time is treated as one of the primary constraints that help in completing the project within the time (Song 2016). In order to maintain the project timeboxes it is important for the organization to ensure that the scope is being reduced so that every activity can be completed within fixed time.

Dynamic system development method has implemented proper timeboxing for ensuring better facility towards the organization (Stellman and Greene 2017). Timeboxing helps in completing the project incrementally by breaking it into different project portions. The role of the project manager is to develop a schedule based on which the project will get executed. Before proceeding with the project it becomes important to fix a proper budget and delivery date so that the team members can work accordingly for achieving the goal. Time and budget are the two main constraints that are needed to be maintained properly for having better project progress. As a project manager it is important to understand the market details so that the website can be developed in a way it brings proper benefit towards the organization (Flora 2018). The auction organization mainly performs the functions of selling the product, buying the product and conducts bidding process online. In addition to this project manger are responsible for making a proper delivery plan including timeboxes so that it can be completed within a proper time. Task NameDescriptionDuration(Time
