Privacy and Data Collection: Legislative Intent and Purpose

This report analyzes the legislative intent and purpose of Article 3(2) of the Data Protection Directives and Article 2(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation. It discusses the applicability of the directives, exclusions of personal data, insufficiency of protection, and the need for personal data in security concerns. The report concludes that the present provisions in force adequately cover their purpose and do not need to be reviewed.
