INTRODUCTION
Cannabis is also considered as Marijuana, and it has been used illegally in UK. While in some
countries, due to its medical benefits, it has been legalized. At present, it has been discovered that
the youth generation is in under influence of numerous of harmful drugs in which cannabis is
consumed more than the other. Companion strain or intensity of pressure to consume drugs is
highly found in young generation and also constant use of cannabis for long time period not only
increase risk factors of physical health, and also promotes them to induce mental health
disorders later. This report entails the consumption of cannabis within society in UK and also its
physical, psychological, pharmacological, legal and social factors and consequences which arise
due to high usage of drugs. In addition to this, it also illustrate the preventative strategies and
present theories of problematic drugs as cannabis.

Cannabis is one of most usual and common addictive drug after alcohol and smoking.
The data of 2020, represent that there are around 11.9 million of adults who reported
consumption of cannabis from past year. According to some researchers, cannabis consumption
is termed to be a gateway of other drugs and also precede consumption of drugs which are
whether licit or illicit and may induce addiction of other drugs. The early use of cannabis in
young generation may affect the brain reactivity. It has been considered as gate way of other
drugs. The gateway is described as the door for moving futher to use

Physical effects
As per the studies, the consumption of cannabis smoke makes an individual's heart rate
faster than usual. After taking smoke of marijuana the breathing vessels get at ease and makes
blood vessels of eye enlarge that makes individual's eyes red. As per the limited evidence, it has
been concluded that it can increase the risk of heart attack and other . The cannabis can elevate
blood pressure in an individual. It can reduce the potential of heart to hold oxygen. It can cause
othostatic hypo-tension which is well-known as head rush and dizziness while standing straight.
It may impairs judgments, coordination of motor skills, reaction and responses and the marijuana
is directly linked to blood THC concentration as well as impaired driving abilities of an

individual. It has been discovered that the chronic use of drugs can promote cannabis based
associated syndrome which is Cannabinoids Hyperemesis Syndrome. It is a condition in which
an individual may suffer form dehydration, nausea and vomiting. The syndrome are most
common in people who are under 60 years and also with a long contact of marijuana use. It can
make an individual to go on often trips to hospitals, but in few cases it may be resolved if person
quits cannabis.
Psychological effects
The adverse psychological effects of cannabis that are hallucination, frequent mood
swings, amnesia, depression, paranoia, sometimes the long term usage of cannabis can also cause
delusion, loss of motivation, enthusiasm, disorientation, difficulties in learning, recalling things,
forgetting, dilemma, confusion and so on. It may also affect the sensory of organs of an
individual and may promote to loose he ability to sense things. An individual might see and
visualize the things differently as compared to sober people. Sometimes, due to adverse effect of
marijuana, an individual might see and visualize some extraordinary visuals that are not real, this
known as hallucination and hallucination is a prime sign of psychosis. It is sign of mental
distress that may also associated with schizophrenia, schizo-effective and in critical condition, it
promotes bipolar disorder in an individual.
The compound tertrahydrocannabinol is present cannabis which is directly responsible
for psychological impact on individual. It directly affect the CB receptors within body of a
person. In order to understand this, it is important to discuss about what are CB receptors are. It
has been differentiated into two parts that are CB1and another is CB2. While CB1 plays an
essential role in making groups of regulatory position inside the body and small parts are also
observed within brain cells. Whereas the CB2 most likely to attain and accept responses and
coordination the structure of immune system. The main function and role of CB are to form G-
proteins in the body then reduce the formulation of calcium particles while expanding the
distribution of potassium in body. Cannabis makes this process slower than usual and which
makes a significant rigid psychological barrier in individual's body.
Cannabis increase partial unconsciousness and the long term contact with cannabis able
to make task to quit. It has been used in medical field, it is prescribed when an individual
undergoes through chronic pain, but it can induce the depression, anxieties and also panic
