Identifying and Solving Problems in Soccer

Soccer is a popular sport played by millions worldwide, but it faces several problems such as too many games played between clubs and countries, dominance of big nations, and politics in FIFA management. This presentation suggests solutions such as reducing the number of games played at the club level, increasing matches between powerful and emerging nations, and improving governance policies.

INTRODUCTION
• Soccer is one of the games
that are played in most parts
of the world.
• It is played by more than 250
million players in more than
200 nations and hence making
it one of the most popular
sports (Hutcherson, 2016).
• There are several problems
existing in this game which
needs to be identified and
removed.

Problem
Some of the problems that
exist in the sports are:
• Too many games are
played between clubs
and countries (Ribeiro
& Urrutia, 2012).
• Big nations are leading
and the new nations
have not been able to
make significant mark.

hence the players are also
seen more dedicated
towards playing for their
clubs instead to their
respective countries
(O’Hanrahan, 2016).
• Huge politics at the upper
level of the FIFA
management.

Solution
• There must be balance between the schedules so that
fitness of players can be taken care of along with the
fact that less numbers of matches will increase fans
excitement towards the games.
• More numbers of matches between the powerful
nations in Soccer and the nations that are emerging
(The guardian, 2016). This will help in improving the
fan base in the new nations.
• Moral code of conduct and the policies for the selection
of the management staffs must be clearly defined.

Suggestion
It can be suggested that the numbers of matches
that is played at the club level should be reduced.
Policies regarding the governance and transfer of
players must be made smoother. It is also
recommended that bigger players should play in
the smaller clubs of the emerging football
nations with lesser fees also. This will help in
boosting the game in that country also.

Conclusion
It can be concluded that Soccer is the game that is
played in most of the nations in the world.
Problems such as huge numbers of games,
politics, dominance of big clubs and countries are
exiting. There must be reduction in the numbers
of games especially at the club levels. It is
suggested the bigger players should play one or
two games in smaller countries so as to improve
the status of the game in that country also.
