Introduction:
The Process of Safety Management is considered as one of the Safety Management
Tools that is required for managing the industries that deal with hazardous material or are
mainly the hazard industries. The process safety comprises of the function of facilities to
maintain and handle, use and storage of the hazardous and dangerous materials like the
chemicals in such a way that reduces the hazardous incidents in the workplace (Reese 2015).
The training for the employees that are working and are operating the process plants
are important so as to ensure the safety of the workers and the peoples around the site of the
work (Kasmani & Kamaludin 2017). The training also ensures the safety of the installation
and environment.
There are several technique used and processes that comprises under the Process
safety Management. The techniques can be distinguished as the screening of the process,
selection of the process concepts after determining the hazards in the organization, evaluation
of the consequences, assessment of the risks and many more.
Descriptions:
A) Training evaluation process:
Post to the completion of the procedures on the processes of the Safety management
and tools that are required to ensure the safety of the workers, the objective of the
management then lies in informing and updating the employees or the operators of the plants
and the maintenance executives about the concern on the safety operations regarding all the
process they are associated or are working on.
The Training evaluation process starts with the conduction of the meetings or the
ways of conveying the message for alarming the workers about the hazardous risks that are

present in their system (Kasmani & Kamaludin 2017). This step is taken to ensure that the
involvement of employees exist during the implementation of the Process Safety
Management programmes. The further steps includes the promotion of the awareness of the
Process Safety Management based programmes and all kinds of the information regarding the
programme for the workers (Park and Kim 2013). The process also comprises the matter of
involving all level of the workers to get involved in the program function or the training
activity that has been conducted or planned to conduct
There are mainly four parts that are involved in the employee participation section
which are as follows:
Awareness of the employees: This comprises of the orientation and the introduction
to the matter of the safety in the sites or the places the workers are working. It also includes
the outline of the hazardous elements, generally the chemicals that are stored in the site. The
aim is to demonstrate the specific kind of safety and the type of hazards that are related with
the use of the stored chemicals in accordance with the PSM Programme and their
requirements (Kontogiannis, Leva and Balfe 2017). The employees are made aware about the
specific emergency actions and plans that are needed to be execute when needed.
Involvement of the employee: the part where the employees that are authorized or
associated with the work of the organization is involved during the development and the
demonstration of the PSM Programme is required (Kontogiannis, Leva and Balfe 2017). The
input is received by them on the process of orientation which enables to verify the
information based on the Process Safety Program that will help them to mitigate future
problems.

Employee access to information: The employee of the organization that has
undergone the training and is the part of the PSM regulation should be accessible to the
Periodic Health as well as the information that are helpful for the PSM regulations.
Record keeping: This is the attribute of the programme which includes the
documentation of the participation of all the employees in the programmes. The records of
the attendance, meeting notes are considered to as the element of the record keeping program
(Noe et al. 2017).
B) Content for mandatory & refresher training and why content is
necessary:
The content for the mandatory and the refr4esher training includes the initial stage of
the training which covers the portion of the Safety polices, the process in which the workers
can safely do their work and the responsibilities that covers the right of thee workers to refuse
the dangerous and hazardous kind of work in the workplace (Bahn and Barratt-Pugh 2014).
The content is applicable and mandatory for the new workers joined the organization or is
assigned for a new role.
The refresher training covers the procedures, management of change, the accidents
and the incident reports, PHA Action items and the P&ID Revision reports. This is required
and applicable for the employees that fail consecutively almost every time in completing the
assigned tasks (Bergh, Baloyi and Pattinson, 2015). The employees that have failed to
improve even after the meetings and the employees that went out due to a near miss with the
accidents in the workplace.
These contents are necessary as it helps in reinforcing the competency that are also
ensured by continued competency satisfaction of the workers. The necessity also includes the
show of intent from the worker’s side about the performance in their job in a very safe

manner without any hazard to their health (Ness 2015). It is vital to maintain the detailed
record of the activities in the training so a s to maintain the safe culture in the organization.
C) Summary of the findings:
From the above findings, it can be summarized that the training for the employees
who are engaged in the operating processes in the plants deals with the hazardous state of
work. The findings have ensured the training evaluations are needed by the workers to ensure
the safety of the people that are working for the organization in hazardous positions and also
ensure the installation and the environment (Leva et al. 2015). The Process Safety
Management is crucial to be enforced within the workforce so as to determine the safety of
the workers. The finding in the report has also evaluated the Content for the mandatory and
refresher training as it helps in reinforcing the competency that are also ensured by continued
competency satisfaction of the workers.
Conclusion:
In this report we can conclude the Process of Safety Management is essential and is
required for managing the workers of the industries that deal with hazardous material within
the organization or the industry. The training evaluation process is needed by the organization
so as to fulfil the criteria where the organization is needed to maintain the criteria to ensure
the safety of the employees and get them trained about the risks and the hazards in their
particular role of job.
