EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:This present report has been covered all important functions and processes involved inHRM. Purpose of HRM functions like recruitment, selection. Motivation along with advantagesand disadvantages of different types of selection process has been discussed. For removingdisadvantages in the process of selection process, some improvements have been also made byan organization. Person specification and job description also played a vital role at the time ofrecruiting and selecting a candidate for the specific job role. Further importance of graduatetraining and internship has been also discussed as it helped an organization and employees toaccomplish its goals and get success. Flexible working arrangement like job sharing, remoteworking has been also shown as it motivates employees towards accomplishing organizationalgoals as well as personal goals. Lastly, this report has been shown increasing importance ofemployee engagement for organization in retaining them within an organization for the longterm. Following all employment legislation also important for an organization for preventingitself against lawsuit and legal actions.

INTRODUCTIONHuman Resource Managementis the integral part in any organisation. It is crucial foreffective management in the company and its a great management function. It is very helpful tomaximize employees work performances and also in motivating, improving and maintaining thework culture in the company. It also manages the employee’s development, advisory,communication and administration activities. It plays a vital role in following activities-Recruitment and training, performance appraisals, developing public relations, managingdisputes and maintaining good atmosphere for work. In the following report we will discussupon two cases- 1. Chocola Fantastica 2. Microsoft. Chocola Fantastica is a big organizationbased in south Wales. This organisation presents greeting cards which are based on tailor-madechocolate. This company expanding their business across the UK. Microsoft is a multinationaltechnology company. It develops and manufactures computer software and related services.Microsoft having a great work culture which enhances employee growth and developmentopportunities.This report will also highlight the purpose of the HR functions and its importance in theorganization, Strength and weakness of the methods that is used by the organization. This willalso include the advantages and disadvantages of the advertising job's method in the organizationinternally. In this we will evaluate the Microsoft offer graduate training schemes and internshipand their impact on the organization and on employees, flexible work arrangements for staff thatare offer by Microsoft. In this report we will also discuss on how Microsoft motivates its workersby which design their job roles, employee engagement and their benefits in Microsoft, elementsif UK employment legislation and their effects in HR' activities such as recruiting, development,training and reward.MAIN BODYSECTION 1 (LO 1)a) Purpose and importance of HR functions:Chocola fantasticais known for its ability to make tailor made chocolate greeting cards.It has various departments but the company want to know the importance of the human resourcemanagers. department is a department which controls the work for training, recruiting and selecting andpaying employees of company.Managers efficiently run the organization, these managers manage employees and arepresent there to satisfy the needs of the employees. In HR department managers promotesleadership, teamwork and goals of the company. In HR department human resource manager ismediator between employer and employees. Its purpose is to find and manage needs ofemployees of organization. There are problems in effective working of company but companymust work on Human resource management to overcome problems. If managers run companyeffectively it would decrease the ratio of employee turnover.As HR departments are known for recruiting and selecting employees. This companywants to recruit a person as a Human resource manager who posses all those skills which canfulfil job criteria and perform all roles of HR manager. Recruitment and selection process ofcompany must match skills and requirement for job role. As HR department looks afteremployees and conducts special training programs for new trainees. Skilled employee are hiredthrough special training programs which make chocola fantastica run smoothly.Fair payment leads to satisfaction and security for employees (Reilly and Williams,2016). As HR department is personally evaluating and making changes in company pay scale.Pension programmes and retirement plans are evaluated as per time. Company need to changepay scale and plans regarding compensation. Various job profiles includes insurances like health,dental, pension and retirement plans. Company managers also have process for maternity leaves.Some companies provide retirement plans for old customers. Fair payment by the companywould satisfy the needs of the employees and employee turn over ratio would decrease.As HR department works with every individual department managers to analyseemployees performance and problems. Company managers is responsible for performanceappraisal process to be simple, straight and effective.Companies play a major role in safety and security measures of employees. There arevarious laws to protect employees in various areas. Department also handles relations betweenemployees to employer and employees to employees.Communication must be strong among employees. As HR managers also handles strikes,disputes and various other problems in company. Companies conducts orientation programmes6
