Introduction Management of communications within the framework of any business organization is one of themost crucial elements of organizational sustenance, which ensures the proper utilization of thestrengths and assets, which are available to the concerned organization. The following thesisstudy focuses on the various facets of management of organizational communication andexplores the various features of the application of knowledge and information in the process ofbusiness functioning which are undertaken by various corporate organizations.Task 1: Assessment of necessity of information and knowledge LO 1: Information and knowledge necessity assessment 1.1 Decisional responsibility regarding the concerned processOrganizational knowledge & management: The concept of knowledge and themanagement of the same involve the systematic organizational process of utilization of theinformation-based assets to create and add value to the organizational output through theproper synthesis and manipulation of the accumulated knowledge regarding the business processdisciplines in which the respective organizations could operate. Organizational knowledge isconsidered as a specific type of company asset and it is not possible to attach any value to thisasset in the monetary considerations. Organizational knowledge always involves theaccumulation and synthesis of the institutional and individual data from various organizationalsources and this process leads to the determination of the actual mechanism of decisionformation regarding the prioritization of business objectives of the concerned corporate entities(Hsu and Chang, 2014, p.135).Range of required decisions:The longitudinal and the latitudinal decision formulationprocesses in any organization involve the various strategic considerations regarding the businessnecessities in the current hyper-competitive market scenario and the creation of value-enhancedassets for the organization. Apart from these, the various other decision requirements deal withthe initiatives regarding the utilization of specific systems and coordinated efforts to achievegreater growth propensity both internally and externally of the organizational architecture (Liu etal. 2014, p.642).3

1.2 Evaluation of importance of information and knowledge in effectivedecision formulationCompetitive advantages in the current market scenario are dependent on the organizationalefforts of utilization and development of the material and human resource assets of anyorganization. Without such initiatives, the organizational existence in the competitive marketbecomes transient at best. This entire process of business development involves the utilizationand management of the most productive knowledge regarding the best possible methods of profitmaximization. The fulfillment of this requirement necessitates the input of the accurateorganizational information regarding the growth and proper management prospects, which anycompany can access and utilize to gain competitive advantage on the market rivals. Knowledgeand information are both intangible organizational assets which involve a range of variousfactors such as the experience of employees and researcher, ideas, incontrovertible andcontextual facts and figures regarding the business disciplines, expertise and judgment regardingmanagerial responsibilities and insights regarding the situational imperatives which govern andshape the business decision formulation process (van den Berg, 2013, p.166).Importance of Information and Knowledge in the organizational decisions: The vitality andsignificance of availability of proper knowledge and information regarding management decisionformulation is evident from the fact that the management of information and knowledge are thecore constituents of any decision formulation process.
