INTRODUCTION
Due to the changes in the rapid business environment, it becomes difficult for business to
cope with the challenges in the external business environment. These includes different
challenges both in the internal and external business environment. Wherein the internal business
challenges include the working environment, employee satisfaction, internal management and
others, and the external business environment includes the increasing pollution, human rights and
so on. This report raises the issues in the context of increasing environmental concerns. This
report covers the details about the issue and it impacts code of conduct to resolve such issue,
support available from professional bodies and conclude the assessment by determining the
impact of code of conduct and professional body (Junior and et.al.,2018).
PART-A
Determine the chosen/challenges
With the rising environment concerns, wherein different companies face economic losses
including the labor productivity, health, bad food quality and so on. Wherein many business
loses the share of profit each year due to the rising environment. For e.g.: the rising air pollution
negatively impact the employee further reduced the productivity ad work, slow business growth
and so on. On the other due to rising industrialization, these business activities also become the
major contributors for harming the environment. These includes some positive efforts and some
negative business outcomes, which are discussed as:
Positive efforts
Different business now takes measures in order to check the carbon foot prints the emission of
carbon dioxide into the air, recycling of waste, no use of plastics, waste treatment, ecofriendly
measures, bio-degradable packaging and so on in order to control the pollution from business
activities into the environment (Kauder, Potrafke and Ursprung, 2018).
Negative outcomes
Business are emitting out the water into water bodies, with rising industrialization the land is
been converted into building for business operation, the emission of harmful chemical from the

electronic gadgets, the radiation into the environment, pollution from these industries into air are
some listed negative business outcomes that degraded the environment.
Determine the codes of conduct that will help in resolving/addressing the issue
In order to control the environmental concerns, different environmental protection bodies
come into practice in order to save the environment from the rising pollution concerns.
Environmental Protection Act 1990, determines the environmental safety measures and laws
within England, Wales and Scotland in order to control the waste management and emission into
the environment.
Some suggested codes are as:
Carbon footprints: Carbon footprints is the tool of measuring the carbon dioxide and other
greenhouse emitted into the environment. Wherein different business must take the responsibility
of measuring these and developing desirable policies to control the emission of these into the
environment (Khvesyk and et.al.,2018).
Environment protection campaigns: Governmental bodies must conduct the environmental
protection campaigns in order to aware the consumers about the increasing environmental
pollutions and the climate change.
And other measures like recycling the waste, treatment of the waste, planting more trees, using
renewable sources in order to generate electricity and so on.
Determine the support available from the relevant Professional Bodies
The available support in UK for environmental concerns and safety, he largest public
service trade union in UK is UNISON which is headquartered in London, UK. With 1.3 million
members of the trade union, 1200 staff, 1300 branches around UK and 12 regional offices makes
it a largest public service trade union. UNISON performs different rules and duties for its
members, one such major UNISON’s objectives involves raising voice against environment
concerns in UK, in order to improve the environmental concerns and the climate changes. It
brings up new ways of dealing with the issues wherein some of it includes focus on promoting
green environment in the workplace. UNISON focuses on taking the measures such carbon
footprints by working with Carbon Trust to reduce the carbon emission (Padash and Ghatari,
2020). It conducts campaigns and works with different organizations like Stop Climate Chaos in

order to focus on environmental issues and climate change. Communicating with the
stakeholders including local communities, the government and society in order to take cation for
the green issues.

In accordance to the above discussion, the negative and positive impacts of the of the
code of conduct and professional bodies, are discussed below:
Negative impacts
Standards do not address the business realities
The standards and code of conducts does not reveal the business realities, wherein different
organisation might follow standards and code of conduct which may led to the ineffectiveness of
the green practices been followed by different businesses (Sanz-Calcedo and eta.al.,2015).
Positive impacts
Environment protection and safety
It is no brainer that the code of conduct and standards set by the professional bodies helps to
tackle the challenges of climate change, pollution in the environment by practicing green
measures and implementing action that promotes protection of environmental safety
(Voskresenskaya, Vorona-Slivinskaya and Panov, 2018).

CONCLUSION
Thus, this report clearly defines the issues of increasing environmental concerns and how
it harms the human health. By the time, it becomes important to control these by scrutinizing the
actions of different businesses. Wherein the businesses have to check the pollution level and use
the most desirable measures in order to control the pollution level from the business activities.
This report also covers the important code of conduct which businesses must comply with,
support from relevant professional body and at the end the impact of support of professional
bodies and codes of conduct.
