Introduction
Personal and professional development plays a major role in achieving the career
goals. There is need to know about the skills that help in development of an individual. There
is discussion related to the approach that is being used to develop learning and transferable
skills (Hendriarto and et,al, 2021). There are some transferable skills that are already
developed at the time of doing the module so they are also mentioned in the report.
Afterwards the skills that must be developed during my academic studies, personal life and
the workplace and mentioned in the report. Personal development log book and action plan
formulated in the end of this report.
1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and development, and the
transferable skills
Personal learning is derived from good experiences and it helps in development of the
skills and capabilities of a person. It is seen that by concentrating and being focused one is
able to enhance all the required skills and that will help them to get a good job and get ready
for employment. By taking all the classes and note making at the time of lecture I am able to
enhance by skills such as communication, time management, leadership skills and etc.
Transferable skills can be defined as the skills that can be used in various roles. It is the
expertise that is helpful for me and will make me employment ready. These skills play a vital
role in the life of a student.
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal learning and
development
Learning is one of the important process. It plays a major role in life of a student. I
understand the importance of learning and development. I have analyzed that the best way to
learn is self-study (Husam and Abraham, 2019). I have understood that there is need to take
time for own-self and then study. It enhances the retention power and helps to learn better. I
have first of all set the goals, where I mentioned by objectives. By setting objectives it
becomes easier to learn. After conducting the SWOT analysis, I was able to know about the
areas that I must improve. So, I made my short term objectives that were based on enhancing
my weakness. I have analyzed that being focused in class is also important. To learn new
things there is need to be attentive and focused in the class. All this assist in understanding
the points that are important. I have started making notes. It helps to keep the important

points with me at all the times. When I go home and do revision, the notes are helpful for me.
It is important to note that doing revision on daily basis is one of the best approach to
learning. There is need to understand all the topics that are taught in the class (Keevy and
Mare, 2018). Afterwards, I again write them so that I am able to learn them. I started with
devoting small time in self-study. But then with time I was able to learn effectively and
remember. I also understood that all the doubts must be cleared at the time of the class. Along
with that I also analyzed that the there is need to stay positive and motivated while studying.
Having winner's attitude makes me confident and I am able to learn effectively. Academic
skills play a major role in learning and development. There are various skills such as
presentation, communication, studying, report writing, analysis social help to learn in proper
manner. It is necessary to improve the skills that need development. By focusing on the goals
and objectives, I am able to enhance my learning.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed by
attending this module
Transferable skills are the expertise and ability that are used in various roles. These
are required at each and every time in job. There is need of these skills so that a person is able
to perform effectively on the job (Lorenzetti and et,al, 2020). While doing this module I am
able to enhance my time management skills. The time management skills are very necessary
for an individual as they help them to complete all the work that is assigned within deadlines.
The use of time management skills has helped to meet to complete all the assignments given
to me within time. I am also able to develop my communication skills while interacting
effectively in the classroom. I have given chances to present myself and communicate with
the team members. along with that there are various doubt sessions where I ask my doubts
and show my communication skills. There is requirement of communicating in proper
manner and complete the goals and objectives within time limits (Alresaini, 2021). My team
management skills also get enhanced by coordinating with all the team members and
completing the group project in proper manner I am able to enhance my team management
skills. While working in organisation there is requirement of important skills so that a person
is able to complete the desired work effectively. There is need to develop all the skills so that
a person is able to perform good at University and at the same time at job. There is need to
develop all the skills in order to achieve success. These skills make me confident and hard
working.

1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies, personal life
and the workplace
There is need to develop with each and every event. I have analysed that academic
skills play a vital role in life of a person. The time is changing and there is need to develop all
the skills that will support learning (Arslan, Haapanen and Tarba, 2021). I have developed
skills such as academic writing, communication skills, team working skills, academic writing
skills and ability to deal with stress. Along with that, I am able to enhance my research skills
and they are required to complete the research projects in effective manner. It is analysed that
there is need to work properly so that the academic skills are enhanced.
It is seen that there is need to develop skills at the time of personal life as well. I am
able to develop decision making skills so that I am able to take decisions in proper manner. A
person that has ability to take effective decisions are able to become successful. I have learnt
to make all the decisions by analyzing the situation in proper manner.
At the time of job there are huge number of skills that develop. I am able to enhance
my professionalism by doing job (Martin, 2019). I have developed reporting skills,
presentation skills, writing skills, communication skills and technical skills so that I am able
to achieve success. At each and every time one must be ready to learn new skills.
