INTRODUCTION
The academic skills are essential in order to learn the habits which is important for a
learner (Cowley and Hyams-Ssekasi, 2019). The learner requires certain skills such as
communication skills, technical skills, listening skills and so on to make them ready for their
bright career. With the help of professional skills the learner is able to get good job opportunity.
The professional skills comprises of hard as well as soft skills in which hard skills includes
management, technical or an other particular capabilities and duties. On the other hand soft skills
comprises of leadership skills, ethical skills, behavioural as well as effective communication
skills. This presentation is being prepared by make emphasises on development of professional
as well as academic skills. It includes the hurdles which are being arises at the time of practising
business management. Further it includes the importance of professional and academic skills and
lastly with the help of SWOT analysis and action plan overcoming measures of the weaknesses
in the growth of career is being discussed.

The major challenges which is being faced by learners while studying business
management are as follows -
 Adjustment in new surroundings – The learners have to move abroad for the purpose
of learning business studies. he students finds difficulty in making adjustment at new
destinations (Grimes, 2022). The students does not feel comfortable while adjusting at
new places. It takes a lot of time of make bonding with new people whom they meet in
abroad.
 Connecting with new students – The students faces certain difficulties at the time of
making interaction with other students. The students of same culture are have good
interaction and make adjustment quickly but when it comes to making adjustment with
the students who are living abroad is bit challenging because they totally belongs to
different background and will not connect with new students easily. For the purpose of
developing professional skills it is crucial to connect with others and become social
being.

 Expenses – The students who went abroad in order to study business management have
to make a huge investment over it. It cost a lot went abroad as initially they have to pay a
good amount of fees for studying business management. After it extra cost is being
incurred will shifting their and many other expenses. Balance between studies and management of other skills – The habits of students are
being taken place by shifting to other nation. As there are certain lifestyle which they
have to maintain while living their along with the studies. The students have to make
proper routine of completing all the necessary activities otherwise it would effect their
health. To do proper studies one have to take proper care of health as it takes time of
adjust in new environment which can affect badly.

Value of effective Professional skills
Professional skills helps the learner is able to get good job opportunity and career
development opportunities (Hora and Lee, 2021). The students are able to secure the good
position in their career by developing effective professional skills. There are certain skills which
makes an individual eligible in seeking a good job in their career. The crucial and importance
benefits of developing effective professional skills are states below -
 Attaining new opportunities – By developing effective professional skills students are
able to get new career opportunities. They will be able to develop the career path and are
able to attain new and effective growth development.
 Professionalism – The students are able to become professionals by making effective use
of professional skills. These skills make the students developed and hence they can take
actions towards the direction of becoming professionals.
 Leadership – The leadership skills are being develop by learning an effective
professional skills. They are able to manage team and influence others by for performing
work.
 Retention rate – The development of professional skills within the students makes being
creative and they also feels motivated. This helps them in enhancing there satisfaction
level and hence the retention rate of employees enhances.

 Enhancing Confidence – The students are able to enhance its level of satisfaction by
learning effective professional skills. The enhancement in the motivation level of students
makes them feel confident to attain objectives.
Value of effective Academic skills
The Academic skills help learners to develop the habits of learning which is important for
them to achieve success (Shin, Iyengar and Bajpai, 2021). The importance having an effective
academic skills are sated below -
 The students or learners are able to make an appropriate schedule and mange their time
for preforming work in an effective way. The most important skills within students life is
time management which can be smoothly developed by learning academic skills.
 The students are able to develop knowledge about business management and also in
understanding concept. The problem solving skills and other learning concepts can be
developed by the help of academic skills.
 With the help of effective academic skills an individual can build a good communication
skills through which they can get a well reputed job. With this, students will able to face
their course exams without facing any hurdles.
 The students are able to recognise their potential and weaknesses with the help of
academic skills. Further they can take required actions to overcome from those
weaknesses and can boost their level of confidence to face any tough conditions.
 The critical thinking capabilities of students are also developed with the help of learning
academic skills.
The above mention factors are the who which helps in building an effective professional
and academic skills by learning business management course. By development of these skills
students are able to build bright career and opens up new path of development as well as of
opportunities.

 Time management – As I am having a
habit of procrastination which can only
be cured by managing time properly.

me out in developing this skills which
will help me in overcoming from my
weakness.
Threats
 Concentration on studies – There are
certain factors which can make
distraction within students life though
which they are not able to focus
towards their studies. My biggest
distraction is use of social media
platforms, where I waste my lot of
time.
 Communication skills - The
ineffective communication skills will
leads to wrong interpretation of
message, thus sometime this
misunderstanding could take place if I
an not able to communicate effectively.
Action Plan
The weaknesses which are being present at the time of preparing SWOT analysis can be
overcome by preparing an effective Action plan (Song, Huang and Huang, 2019).

From the above presentation, it can be concluded that both academic as well as
professional skills is important for building good career. There are certain challenges which are
being faced by students at the time of learning business management course such as making new
friends, making adjustment at new places, also they have to bear a huge cost and so on. With the
help of SWOT analysis students are able to identify weaknesses which can be resolved by
preparing an effective action plan.
