My world has been all about horses since I was about the age of 5. When I started riding
my parents realized that I had such a passion and hence we moved to a property where we could
have my horses at home. This was one of the most exciting times of my life and also the time
when I have had one of the most life altering experiences. My chores were caring for the horses
daily. This was a bigger task than I had ever imagined! My chores included daily feedings,
grooming and cleaning the stall and as I got older I started to rebel against these daily tasks. I
wanted to do the normal adolescent things, like going on a weekend ski trip. My parents handled
me very smartly at this time. I could go on the ski trip, I could start going on sleepovers and I
could get rid of my horses. I was distraught on even thinking of giving them up and sacrificed
my social life to have them. I thank my parents every day for this! This is why I have a great
work ethic today and has been the reason for my successful career.
When the time came for me to apply to a college I had it all figured out. I knew I was
going to Kentucky and will be studying in Equine Management and Science. I started as a
private school in Midway, but decided to transfer to a better program at the University of
Kentucky. I thrived in Kentucky, I started riding more and became President of the Equestrian
team. I did all I could while in my undergraduate program to gain more knowledge and place
myself above the rest. I took on an internship, rode with Veterinarians to various farms in the
area and traveled the eastern United States showing my horses. That’s right, I still had my horses
and as you can guess my parents made me take care of them daily while I was in college as well!
I have encompassed my entire life in the Equine Industry and am devoted to working hard to be
the best I can in the field that I am passionate about.

occupy a part-time position while I finished my degree and that was a great feeling. This
opportunity gave me the knowledge and motivation to occupy the role of a General Manager
directly after graduation at the leading thoroughbred Farm in Indiana. I spent the next four years
managing the farm as well as the veterinarian on staff and occupied the position of Executive
Director of the Indiana Thoroughbred Owner and Breeders Association. This Executive position
gave me more knowledge and I worked with Vice President Mike Pence’s (at that time it was
Governor Mike Pence) office in fielding some legislation to better the horsemen in the state of
Indiana. I went on and managed the Indiana Thoroughbred sales and continued to show my
horses when the time was available. I moved from the farm life to the race track life and
accepted a position with a prominent trainer, Tom Proctor as the Racing Manager. I only held
this position for about a year, moving about six times that year for the position.
This is where I had another life-changing moment of mine and that is when I decided farm
life isn’t the life for me. I decided I would get into Animal Health sales. I kept getting rejected
for not having enough sales experience. This experience was honestly the first failure I had while
pursuing my passion. I buckled down and was determined that I would not only get a position in
Animal Health sales but I would eventually work for the largest company in North America and
become a CEO. So, that’s what I did. I sold cars to get this experience and everyone told me that
I needed experience and hence I landed a sales job at Wickliffe, an animal compounding
pharmacy. I became the Director of Sales within the two years of working for them and quickly
accepted a position with Antech Diagnostics a VCA company currently owned by Mars. I am
currently the Equine Business Manager and I look after the Western United States. I am looking
for a future with Mars. They have a huge contribution to the Equine Industry, including
sponsoring the World Equestrian Games and much more.

I aspire to be a CEO for Mars within the next 10 years. Achieving my Masters of Business
administration in Marketing is an added tool for me as I believe this tool is going to be necessary
for achieving my dreams. I am also taking DVM Continuing Education Courses in Ultra
Sonography to increase my knowledge in the industry. I have surrounded myself in the Equine
world my entire life and when I failed at something I buckled down and made it happen. I plan to
keep this ethic in my practices in the future as well.
