Technical skills developed during professional exposure:
Summary of the professional exposure:
The main aim of the professional exposure program of the Capstone project was to
develop relevant technical skills for the future network professional while focusing on different
technical topics that were presented during each of the meetups of the professional exposure
event. During the vey first meetup of the event, a detailed presentation was introduced based on a
given situation where we were being asked to imagine ourselves within a situation in a company
where cyber criminals had attacked and were trying to steal information from the company’s data
assets. The very first event led to the introduction of topics related cyberattack and its various
threats. The second meetup of the Capstone project presented the different types of trend
prevalent in cyber security and cyber-attacks, while the third event of the project presented a
whole new concept of the future connectivity related to introduction to 5G network with
consideration to VR gaming and adoption to autonomous car technologies [5]. The final meetup
of the capstone project introduced the concept of emerging technologies and their role of
standards providing a detailed knowledge to emerging digital economy and information systems.
Mapping of useful units during the professional exposure:
While were mainly concerned with the theoretical concepts we had a very little
knowledge on how the professional exposure program will be initiated but as the event started
the main thing that we understood is that communication is one of the vital point in professional
exposure that would help individuals to evaluate various ideas with the industry based people
while communicating with theme about the technologies, their uses and their applications. While
attending the various events of the Capstone project, I gained immense knowledge on how to

initiate a communication with people in the professional field. Besides the events that were being
presented provided me a detailed understanding of the cyber related field while taking major
consideration to the threats in cyber field, modern trends in cyber security and various emerging
cyber attacks that might take place within any industry [1]. The event also provided a basic
understanding of the new kind of technology that has come up with the 5G connectivity and also
the different other kinds of emerging technologies and their role of standards that are followed
within industry professionals.
New technical skills or knowledge gained:
The technical knowledge skills that I gained during the overall Capstone project is mainly
based on cyber security skills, ways to handle the major threats in cyber field and about various
other emerging technologies such as 5G network connectivity and many more [4]. The
knowledge of 5G network connectivity enabled me to understand about the newly emerged
concept of virtual reality gaming and its application in various livestock management and
autonomous car systems [8].
Use of the technical exposure in future:
In future the technical exposure gained during capstone project will help me while
working with any organization related to cyber attack or working with any kind of emerging
technology-based project that will allow me to gain a good career in the field of network
professional.

Example from practical exposure to demonstrate how the skills identified are developed:
Since we are on the edge of Fourth Industrial revolution hence gaining knowledge on the
emerging technologies will help me in increasing my domain in areas that will bring new
powerful combinations in future. Communication is another skill that I learned from the events
that will help me in achieving the goals in my professional field in future [7]. The entire session
also allowed me to gain knowledge on the possible cyber-attacks while suggesting trending tools
such as Micro Deep Security tool so as to prevent the attacks which I can apply in my future
domain so as to stay aware of the cyber threats [3].
Changes recommended in future in the manner of approach to networking study based on
the professional industry exposure:
According to me students pursuing their study in the field of networking should be given
an opportunity to gain industrial exposure so as to acquire knowledge on the professional field,
how it works and the different aspects that needs to be taken care of like the emerging cyber
threats and their mitigating measures, or the different new technologies coming up so as to stay
ahead in their domain field [2].
Changes recommended to structure the degree program to ensure successful networking
professional graduate in future:
Some of the changes that I recommend should be brought about in structuring the degree
program towards successful networking professional graduate includes-
 Implementation of the lab activities related to new technologies where students would get
opportunity to test the new technologies.

 Implementation of activities that encourages students to show case their ideas on the
evolving technologies.
 In hand training to deal with the cyber threats with the help of various cyber-crime
prevention tool kits.
Types of work environment that attracts the most:
For any employee a suitable positive and happy environment is the desired one so as to
work efficiently in professional field. I would generally prefer a working environment that
provides the same as well as give me immense opportunity to grow my knowledge in my domain
field.
Specific networking challenges that are more interesting for future:
Recently, cyber crimes are emerging in a rapid rate in social engineering field and thus to
me finding ways to prevent the crime in fields of social media is one of the interesting challenges
that I would like to work on in my professional career.
Idea on future career direction based on the practical industry exposure:
While taking up the professional exposure sessions, I have made my mind on acquiring
my future career in the field of cyber security expert where I would deal with cases where real
time cyber attacks have taken place while investigating on the causes and recommending suitable
measures sop as to mitigate the threats in future.
Specific aspects of the professional industry exposure that were most interesting:
Some of the aspects of the professional industry that gained my attraction is the way by
which the industries work as a team and not individually. The teams as a part of the entire
organization showcase their ideas while discussing the ways by which a particular problem can

be solved which is very much important and a must skill towards effective team building in
professional industry.
Aspects that are not liked:
Some of the aspects that I did not like about the industrial exposure was the way by
which the different topics were introduced in a hurry without giving much opportunity for
students to put forward their queries in front of the industry professionals.
Influence of the professional industry exposure on future network professional:
However, with so much mixed experiences I would definitely like to enhance my
knowledge in the areas that were being introduced and will try my level best to become a
successful network engineer and showcase my ideas in the domain of cyber security applied to
various emerging technologies on future.
