I have been placed in the coronary unit as a nursing student in the duration of 6 years of clinical
placement. I have been able to learn many new techniques about handling patients under cardiac
arrest or any other such emergency heart disease.
As I am empathetic in nature, I will always be able to understand the needs and demands of all
my patients and give them a proper moral support (Palumbo, Rambur & Hart 2017, p. 402). This
is very useful because patients are in need of a proper mental and health support at all points of
time. This will be very helpful; in order to make sure that one of the patients are suffering from
any kinds of trauma or any loneliness .This is because if the patients feel alone then they will be
suffering from several confusions and will feel left out (Woodward, Smart & Benavides-Vaello
2016 p. 55)
I will have to work over my communication skill. This is because though I am of an empathetic
nature I always suffer from hesitation. I am not very well acquainted with English language. I
suffer from the feeling that I will not be able to speak fluently in English and will not be able to
communicate with the patients properly (Nakagami et al. 2018, p. 572). This is because I will not
be able to understand the different complaints or that are being raised by the patients or the
patient parties coming from differ linguistic backgrounds. As I work in the coronary care unit, I

will have to communicate with patients in a very nice and polite way so that they doo not suffer
from any further stress or pressure over that might affect their heart rate.
I will have to use the opportunity of working with all my co workers and also the superiors. They
will be helping me to understand about the different hurdles that can come up during the times of
emergency (Goodyear & Goodyear 2018, p. 49). This will be very useful for me as I will be able
to learn about the different ways in which I can overcome the hurdle and also be able to make se
that I am being able to understand all the ways in which I can take up the right decisions at the
right point of time
Anger issue is one of the major threats as this will frighten the patients. I have to cop up with the
work pressure and e able to work in a very ordered and organized manner. This will be helping
me to keep a calm and cool mind. I will have to take up much anger management classes to deal
with this issue.

Standard 1-Thinks critically and analyzes nursing practice. I always
like to make sure that all the decisions are being taken up properly and
also there is a proper group decisions that is being undertaken.
Development needs needed for current job and future goals
Working over communication skill- In order to be a good nurse one has to
talk in a very open, non hesitant and friendly manner so that they patients
are able to open up and are mentally stable
I will also have to work over decision making skills so that quick and
immediate actions are taken.
Action Plan
I will try to work over my communication skill and make sure that I am being able to
develop a proper interpersonal skill.
I will try to get the specialized heart care or coronary care nursing degrees.
Coronary care and the cardiac arrest care, heart surgery knowledge will be one of
my major goals. I have good networks in this field as I am looking for an internship
under any pediatric doctors.
I will enroll myself in anger management classes so that I am able to keep a proper
control over my lack of patience issue and also anger issue

I will always try to work over the personal SWOT results so that I am getting a detailed overview
about all the different drawbacks that are present within me (Brown and Rode 2016.). This will
be very useful in helping me to attain all the different goals and objectives in order to become an
efficient nurse in the near future will always make sure that I am abiding by the different nursing
standards .I will also try to maintain proper feedback systems so that I am getting a proper help
and guidance from all the coaches and the supervisors so that I am able to maintain a proper
track over my performance.
