INTRODUCTION Professional Career Development is a crucial aspect of every individual's life as thisdetermines the pace at which a person is advancing with reference to one's career. To undertakeentry into professional work area, it is important for personnel to possess some essential skills,knowledge and competences (Steinert, O’Sullivan and Irby, 2019). These skills are required asthey are regarded as prerequisites to gain access to a professional work area. Business skills arethus those traits which are required to be present in an individual's personality in order to renderthem aid in running or operating within the confines of an industry.There are a number of skills that are considered to be necessary for a person to effectivelyexecute tasks of a particular business sector. Such skills are acknowledged to be communication(written and oral), negotiation, team working, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, timemanagement, public speaking, resilience, researching etc. All of these need to be present within aperson so that they can work in a company in a desirable manner (Horn, Pilkington and Hooten,2019). Apart from this, some of the advanced skills that are considered necessary forprofessionals are strategic thought process, leadership, presentation etc. The present assignmenttakes into account the skills and knowledge areas that are considered to be important for workingeffectively. Also, it includes readiness for employability and personal advancement through withthe help of ascertainment of personal strengths and areas for further development.
