INTRODUCTION Black lives matter is one of the most anticipated global outrage among the people of various countries especially the one that is United States of America since it was the place where the actual incident happen(Coibion, Gorodnichenko and Weber, 2019). Black lives matter is a movement that was a issues that was raised in the year 2012 firstly in the pretext of a person named Trayvon Benjamin Martin was shot dead by a volunteer neighbourhood watchman in the city of Sanford, Florida. Since the person was only 17 years of age and was an African American in orientation it became a global voice but still it was not much in news at that time. But the killing ofGeorge Floyd in the year 2020 by a policeman y choking his throat gained attention at a global level and at many places protest can be seen and thus it became a global movement. There are many strategies that are used by the people to gain maximum attention and reach and the most common one was the use of social media to the advantage as many hastags were formed and people made various comments so that the ones with a specific hastag can be identified and seen as a supporter of the cause. In this report there is a detailed evaluation done on the above mentioned topic by me and analysis of various things are done that can be used for the proper treatment of the aspect so that the society can change a bit and can see a whole new prospective that each and every life matters and there must be no discrimination on the basis of caste, colour, creed, gender, religion, etc. apart from that the report also covers examination of various articles on the same aspect that is discussed above and summarising and commenting on the same has been done in a systematic and sequential manner. MAIN BODY Examination of the decision that has been taken by the Oxford College for the removal of Cecil Rhodes statue Cecil Rhodes statue is a statue that possesses a long history with it and is considered as the statue that is a depiction of the white supremacy over the world and thus it is the one that is not considered to be one of the greatest statutes of all time. Cecil Rhodes was a person that was full of hatred for the black persons and does not consider them as good and always treated them as not up to the standards of that as compared to the white persons(Paul, Chiriyath and Bliss, 2016). Thus it can be said that the person was not at all a good person and does not considered the lives of black also matters and the Oxford College also supported the decision of removing

the statue of such a person that is not a very good sign for the communal harmony, peace, and internal security of the country as a whole. Thus a movement came that was named as Rhodes must fall so that the citizens can live a peaceful life without considering the differences of their colour and can foster together as a complete nation. The decision that was taken by the Oxford University to back the protesters in taking down the statue was praised by a number of people and journalists and thus is regarded as one of the most important step for the integrity of the nation by the college so that all the individuals no matter where they come from can study in the university and the country without any fear of being shot by the policemen without doing anything wrong. I came to understand from this that it is very crucial and critical at the same time to analyse and evaluate each and every situation in detail so that the consequences cannot hamper the overall working of the nation. Also I came to know that it is not difficult to change some rules and regulations, laws and legal aspects if it is for the benefit of the society and when it comes to the killing of George Floyd on the streets of the United States of America the government of the USA must have taken some harsh but striker actions so that these things cannot happen again in the near future but the government failed miserable and thus hampering the overall conditioning and positioning of the politics happened because of this(Brando and Moro, 2017). Description of the after effects of the decision that was taken for the removal of the statue of Cecil Rhodes The removal of the statue of the above mentioned person was a must since the treatment that was given to black persons was not so good as compared to that of white and after the Oxford College also backed up the decision and supported the protestors it became a global issue and most of the individuals and in favour of removing the statue. But there are some opposite thoughts too in the subconscious minds of the people and the most common one was that it was not only about removing the damn statue but it was about changing the mindset of the individuals that are living in the society(Olsson, Huhtamäki and Kärkkäinen, 2020). Thus the removalofthestatuecanonlyshiftourmindfromtheuncomfortabletruththatthe discrimination still exits and it will not be changed by only removing the statue itself. Thus I can personally fell that there is a need for an overall change in the thought process so that all the citizens that are living in a country must be treated equally so that discrimination on various basis can be overpowered with the unity that will prevail in the society. Thus there are a lot of
individuals that was against for removing the statue of Cecil Rhodes since it is not a permanent solution to the problem but it is rather just a temporary solution. Though the statue is the sign of the wrong doings’ that the person did with black persons but the thought process must be changes so that the exact issue can be addressed rather than removing the statue itself and also statue does not matter much to the persons living in a society if there is a sense of unity and correlation between them(Massey and Wieder, 2019). Evaluation and analysis of the after effects of the movement that gained pace with the killing of George Floyd As the protest was on its toes so as the government people in the Town of Bristol took down that statue of a person named as Edward Colston which was a slave trader and treated blacks as slaves and then the citizens after removing the statue dumped the same in the harbour. Thus the act is criticised by a lot of persons and I also personally fells that removing the statue is not the only solution to the problem that the whole world is facing which is the discrimination on the basis of colour. The removal of statue can be treated as tearing down the pages of the history of a nation and if it is continued with the same pace the next generation will not be able to see the vast history of the nation. So all the person in the society must try to protest in a peaceful manner so that the integral property of the country is not sacrificed for this and the history must be treasured and not destroyed by the citizens itself. Thus the ARUL students union must try to educate persons in this regard so that destruction can be minimised that can prove beneficial as a whole(Squires, Brewer and Dawson, 2018). RECOMMENDATIONS It can be recommended from the above that it is very important that the protest for black lives matter must be done in a peaceful way so that it can carter the needs of the society. CONCLUSION From the above it can be concluded that it is very important for the students of ARUL union to make people aware of the history so that the statues that are a part of the vast history cannot be tore in that manner. Apart from that it can be concluded that government must also take appropriatemeasuresso that the discriminationcan be stooped atall placesand police personnel’s must act within the limited boundaries so that the incident cannot repeat itself in the near future.
