Introduction
The essay focuses on the criteria on which the student can be guided to choose the
subsequent career plan. This can help the student to identify which course of study for
enhancing career opportunity will best suit to the student’s skills. The right skill is needed for
enriching the career to achieve the goal prominently and effectively. This paper will enhance
the study to identify the right skills that is needed to meet the requirements of the chosen
career. Here the student is planning to enhance the career path in Master of Business
Information System (Anders, 2018). The student is required to understand the career goals
and enhance the knowledge for career development. The term management is common in all
domains such as finance manager, marketing manager, operation manager, production
manager, process manager, HR manager and many more where the need to manage the team
or department effectively. This course offers students the knowledge and skills required to be
an analyst in this Business Information System field. This course is designed to provide the
student with an understanding of the use and management of information systems in an
organisation. The effectiveness of Business Information System in a large organisation is
difficult to handle the critical situations so the theoretical and practical knowledge in this
course is covered for having a deep understanding the functions and objective of handling
information system (Benson, 2015). The paper covers the learning and skilling of student for
enhancing in the study of business analysis, professional issues and database design. This
also broadens the knowledge in interdisciplinary perspective and addresses all information
system risks management, information system strategy, enterprise architecture and
governance. The student can choose a specialisation from the business analysis, IT project
management or enterprise information management. This course will also provide a research
project that can enable the student to build an area of expertise.

Discussion
Identification of subjects that is addressed in Masters of Business Information System
is a postgraduate course. The study is a general Masters of Business Information System
program which specializes the student in business analysis, IT project management or
enterprise information management. This course contains four semesters, that focuses on
subjects (Bray, 2017) such as Professional issues in IT, Introduction to business information
system, database analysis and design, requirements, analysis and modelling and many more.
The course provides with the career oriented goals in managing the diversity effectively and
efficiently work in group assignments to share the knowledge of highly experienced
professional. (Carr, 2016). This course can allow the student to enhance the knowledge and
skills to improve the managerial skills to take managerial decisions in an organisation. This
course offers with many job opportunities after the completion of the course. This course
have 10 core Business Information system units which contains 125 credit points,
3pecialization units which contains 37.5 credit points, and 3 elective units which contains
37.5 credit points.
The eligibility criteria for joining this course is if the student is a bachelor’s degree in
any stream then the student can join the course and pursue Masters in Business Information
System in two years for the enriching excellence in management study. The subjects included

The above table shows the subjects that university provides and our intended course
of study adds statistics and financial accounting as the subjects. These two additional subjects
can help the management study to enhance with statistical analysis of data by managers. The

evaluation of performance of an employee, and survey information can be easily calculated
through knowledge of analysis. The Financial accounting is the basic subject in finance but
must be included in the Business Information System course so that the decision making
regarding financial crisis of an organisation or financial data must be effective when the
management have proper knowledge on managing the finance of the company (Cascio,
2015). Information System manager is responsible for all activities to manage the information
but the manager must understand the financial operations to determine the company has
profitability in the near future or not. The subjects included in the course have high
percentage of improvement in management knowledge of a student.
For pursuing this course the student must need to have more patience, leadership
quality, flexible approach and able to address any difficulty. The efficiency to handle critical
situations and time management must be the qualities that a student must poses to pursue in
this management field.
The aim and objective of completion of this course is to demonstrate coherent and
advanced knowledge of the inter- disciplinary nature of Information systems in organisation
that are studied in the course. Also can critically evaluate the information system which
includes business analysis, requirement analysis, database design and analysis, the
management of information systems, IT project management and professional issues.
(Coffelt, 2014). This also needs efficiency in critically evaluating a range of theories and
practices pertaining to the use of information systems in organisation. This is to apply the
context of business analytics, project management and information management. The student
must understand the value of a manager and the responsibilities they carry in an organisation.
The student must be able to communicate effectively and flexibility in the application of
knowledge and skills to new situations, to solve complex problems, to respond to ethical
organisational and IS/ IT issues and dilemmas, and to think rigorously and independently.

The course can be benefited to the student as it is a course which is one of the reputed course
that have most effective ways in success of the career. It helps to get jobs as manager in
information system departments of various reputed companies nationally and internationally
(Costa, 2016). The student must understand the scenario of a management department
through internship programs. This will provide the student to realise that roles in a domain
which constantly changes and which have never- ending- process with relation to current
market and relevant workplace management (Ziek, 2015). The student must understand the
operations and function that are practiced through classroom training. How the organisation
survives with its best capabilities and effective progress in performance in the workforce
(Holt, 2016). The student must enrich with the activities that management practice to
maximize the productivity of the organisation through various training and development
programs, recruiting process, promotional activities, and workforce management.
Innovative skills where the student must need to have innovative skills. This skills
contains the plan and coordinate with various activities that a task results to have effective
outcome in managing information system. This is to ensure that the student is able to work
well with computer related activities while performing the job. The student needs to have
knowledge, innovative techniques and help the organisation to be more efficient. Innovative
skills enhances the leadership, flexibility, patience, dependability, responsibility and
teamwork (Meloncon, 2018). The student by pursuing Masters of Business Information
System must improve the attitude, self -confidence and critical thinking. The main objective
of this course is to enhance the student in the area of information system management. The
student must be able to work in a team and manage the activities effectively.
Analytical skills (including group/public speaking) is the student must poses
analytical skills which includes the ability to understand and deliver formal information
management system. The student is practiced with various technologies to analyse and break

audience the purpose of the networking, database programming, system design and balanced
views in business context (Zinger, 2019). The student must be able to use the technical skills
effectively.
Team-working skills is the student must be able to understand that the team working
includes specific problem solving skills, to take corrective decision making skill, to address
with accurate feedback skill, must be able to provide effective information in the team and
must be able to solve the conflicts (Tiwari, 2017). The management skills must poses all the
team leadership qualities that can be used to practice in real organisational environment.
Business Analysis skills and presentation of basic research information is the student
must understand what all functions and operations does the manager does. The main purpose
of analysing the data that is obtained from various information is to enrich the qualitative
analysis to produce effective result (Grant, 2019). The manager does various analysis in the
information system management to determine the information is valid and accurate. The
manager must be able to calculate the statistical part by practicing various surveys that helps
the manger to come to a conclusion.
Team building skills is the student must understand the role of a manger and must be
enriched with building unity in a team that can easily convey the team about the objective of
the organisation. The team building impact the personality and educational background of an

Job- interview skills is the student must practice the interview related questions that is

when the student is eligible for manager post. The interviewer always approaches to certain
questions where the manager tries to analyse the behaviour and efficiency of the applicant
(Knight, 2016). The student must also learn to determine the valuable information of an
applicant through practicing managerial roles in classroom. The job interview skill is more
important for selecting the right candidate for the position in the organisation. As a wrong
decision can drop the productivity of the firm.

This paper focuses on the skills and professional development theory that will help
the student to consider for a course of study that is Masters of Business Information System
in a recognised university. This appear have brief analysis of Masters of Business

The additional subjects that is added can help the student to enhance the skills on financial
