INTRODUCTION
Home care sector is defined as industry where services are provided to old people at the place
where they are living. Home care is also known as domiciliary care or social care. It is very
important in this sector that a better service must be provided to the individuals so that they
could feel better (Jin and Cortazzi, 2017). There are various changes which has been
occurring in this sector that must be put in focus so that it could be improved. The following
report discuss about what personal development must be implemented while changes are
occurring in the home care sector. Furthermore, the report also pays focus on what reflective
and analytical skills are important and are required in home care sector.
MAIN BODY
Analysis of personal practice development that is responsive to changing needs in Home care
Home Care Services adapt to changing needs of a person. If the needs of a person are
enhancing or if they are looking for an older person the person needs to plan their future care
needs. The health care and lifestyle need of every person is different which depends upon
their stage of life, financial situation and health as well as their family support. It has been
observed that many people want to live independently as long as possible while others want
to shift into residential aged care for helping themselves with day-to-day activities. Home
support services can provide a wide range of help around home of a people. These services
include personal care such as bathing and dressing, social activities, transport, physical
exercises, nursing care, meals and food preparation (Handley, Bunn and Goodman, 2017).
The person who is working in home care is required to update themselves according to the
needs of people living in home care. It is very important that a person must improve their
practices so that they could provide better services to the people living in home care.
Professional development helps a person in managing their own learning and growth
throughout their career. Continuous learning assists an individual in providing them and
opportunity in their career and keep their skills and knowledge updated in order to ensure that
they practice legally and safely. It is very important that an individual must develop their
professional meet as it helps them in ensuring them continue competent in their profession.
Professional development is an ongoing process which help a person in their career (Zerwekh
and Garneau, 2017). The main purpose of professional development is to provide
professionals and opportunity to learn and implement their new skills and knowledge that
could help them in providing better services to the people in home care and it also facilitate

them a better career opportunity in future. Professional development is all about developing
skills and knowledge which are required in a particular field. People working in healthcare
are motivated to review their aims and accomplishment on continuous basis along with
maintaining a personal development plan. The main five aspects of personal health are
emotional, social, physical, intellectual and spiritual. In other words, its is could be explained
as continuous learning which helps in improving a personality of people. It is very important
in healthcare sector that people working in this sector most improve their skills and
knowledge according to the changing needs of people living in home care sector (Borkowski
and Meese, 2020). A person working in home care must need to have complete knowledge
about what requirements are important which should be provided to the people living in home
care. A person working in this sector interact with various people at different levels in order
to determine what extent changes is accomplished. It is very important for a person to create
a personal development plan so that they could analyse in which skills they are weak and
strong.
Demonstrate your ability to use reflective and analytical skills
Reflective practices are considered as a very important dimension of professional
development for healthcare professionals. Professional standards and credentialing procedure
to represent regular competency for almost all healthcare professionals in the present requires
demonstration of reflection practices. As a healthcare professional I analyse have to reflect
my integrated learning which I have experience through active reflection on my practices. I
have to reflect my both skills which includes reflection in action and reflection on action
which simply means that I reflect file doing some activity and I also so have to deal with the
situation after the event. For me reflective practice is important because it facilitates me my
personal and professional growth (Hairon and Tan, 2017). Through my reflective skills I was
able to take better care of people as I have already experienced how to take care of them. I
have also used my reflective skills to analyse the situation and handle it according to its
requirement. Reflective practices also help me in analysing what I could do better for the
Wellness of people around me. Reflective practices help me in analysing my strengths and
weaknesses which I could improve in my future practice
Reflective practice in healthcare and social care is important because a person work
with human beings Who have different needs and requirements which the staff has to adapt
quickly. Reflective practices include thinking about what task did the person needs to
complete, what did the person do, how did it go or the person could have done better and

what will they do next in future (Krebs, 2019). It is very important to have reflective practices
as it helps in improving mindfulness, continues improvement and connects people
emotionally and empathy. Through my reflective practices I was able to analyse what task I
have to complete in a particular time. And while doing the project what did I do along with
how I have done it (Paufler, King and Zhu, 2020). Reflective practices also help me in
analysing what I can do in future with effective measures. Reflective practices also help me
in connecting with people emotionally so that they I could understand what they’re feeling
while living in the home here.
Analytical skills
Effective communication
I was able to utilise my effective communication skills through which I could understand
opinions of people in home care. Effective communication skills have helped me in building
a bridge between me and people that results in representing my prospective in front of them.
It also helps me in listening their problems which has helped me in solving them. This skill
has also help me in finding solutions off the conflicts as I was able to understand perspective
of everyone around me (Thomas, Ripp and West, 2018). Effective communication skills are
very important part of home care as it helps in putting forward what someone is feeling. This
skill also helps me in making comfortable so that they could represent what they're feeling in
front of me without feeling being judged.
Critical thinking
This skill of mine has helped me in finding the solution of every issues arise in the home
care. Critical thinking also helps me in improving my problem-solving skills as it is very
important in-home care sector. There’s a skill of mine has helped me in analysing the
situation carefully and seek for better solution so that the outcome could be effective.
Creativity
This analytical skill of mine has helped me in enhancing my creativity show that I could
come with innovative ideas. It also helped me in developing various methods for better taking
care of people in home care (Passmore, 2020). Creativity skills also assist in helping people
in more innovative and desired way possible. This skill also helps in creating innovative way
to entertain people living in home care so that they could not feel alone.

Research skills
This skill of mine has assisted me in finding information about what is necessary while
practice icing in home care (Johnson and Golombek, 2020.). Research skills also help me in
gathering all the required information that is very important in-home care sector.
CONCLUSION
From the above analysis it has been concluded that it is very necessary to improve the
services according to the changes occurring in the sector. It has also been analysed that in
home care sector changes occurs continuously according to the time which must be solve or
put in priority so that people in home care sector could feel better. It has also been concluded
from the above discussion that a person must reflect skills that they have experience in their
past practices. It is also important that staff in home care sector must represent their analytical
skills effectively so that they could understand what people on home care are feeling.
