1PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN Personal and Professional Goals I am a student of master of nursing and a specialist adult gerontology practitioner. My personal goal is to gather knowledge from the lecturers and the fellow students in order to develop my professional skills and make me able to provide service to my future clients in an effective manner that could satisfy them. My professional goal is to become a nurse practitioner committed to social change. My personal and professional goals are influenced by the mission and the vision of the Walden University and the school of nursing. They provide academically rigorous and relevant contents to the students in order to develop their critical thinking and enhance the ability of the student to implement evidenced-based nursing practice in order to address vigorous challenges in the society and transform communities. The mission and vision of the Walden University has helped ne to improve my personal view regarding the social change. It was difficult for me to understand the way of addressing the social challenges but the effort of the Walden University has helped me to identify the way of resolving social challenges easily (Social Change Working Group, 2016). I believe that acquiring adequate knowledge would help me to improve the quality of my service to the human lifespan and meet the requirements of the clients in the local and global range (Yob et al., 2016). As my professional goal is to establish myself as a nurse practitioner committed to social change, the collaboration of the university with the health care industry would help to shape the studies towards community development.
