INTRODUCTION
The attitudes and behaviour that an individual employs to successfully deal with others
are known as interpersonal skills. The word refers to an employee's willingness to interact
together with others in the workplace (Locher, 2017). Communication and listening qualities, as
well as personality and personal appearance, are also examples of interpersonal skills. In the
report there is discussion related to interpersonal skills that are required in different situations.
There is SWOT Analysis done to understand and identify the skills that are good as well as that
are weak so as to work effectively. In the end there is reflection related to SWOT Analysis.

TASK 1
Between the senior and junior nurses
Interpersonal skills play a vital role in every situation. It is important to note that the
behaviours of a person and the skills that he possess help to take actions. In the given situation a
relative of patient is shouting. The senior nurse should be efficient enough and should try to take
control over the situation (Jeon, 2021). The senior nurse should communicate the situation to the
junior nurses. It is important that they should be told about what they can do in such situation.
The junior nurses should listen properly and understand the situation. It is assumed that the
junior nurse should also try to control the situation in make the person leave anger and
aggression. The nurses should take care of the patient and they should tell the junior nurses to do
the same. It is important that the junior nurses are always ready to learn and follow the
instructions that are given by the seniors. Both the nurses should have clear communication skills
that will help to make the patients feel comfortable and reduces the chances of conflicts. The
junior nurses should also be ready to learn and listen to new things so that they are able to work
effectively. The junior nurses should respect the senior nurses and learn from them.
Between the senior nurse and the agitated son
It is important that a person should make efforts to reduce aggression. As there is negative
impact of aggression of the person as well as the surroundings. In the above case the son came in
agitate state and started shouting which is wrong (Kaur, 2020). The person should have patience
and understood the situation. He does not even ask any one and started shouting. It is wrong that

action that was taken. It is suggested that a person should always possess good communication
skills so that there is no problem. It can be said that if the person would have interacted directly
with the nurse or asked about the situation then there would not be disturbance in the nursing
station. The senior nurse should have also controlled the situation and told him about the care
that they are giving (Bals, Kelly and Stek, 2019). It is vital that there is no disturbance to others
that are part of nursing station. It is important that aggression should not be used at places like
nursing station. As there are various patients and they will also impacted by the behaviour. It is
duty of nurse to take care of the situation. A proper communication may have helped to sort the
situation.
Between the nurses and the other residents and their relatives
The nurse is the common person that the agitated son knows and the other residents and
relatives know. It is seen that the nurses should communicate effectively with all the patients and
provide them care that they want. It is seen that the nurses should have good conflict solving
skills (Farashahi and Tajeddin, 2018). It will help the other residents to understand the situation
and misunderstand the nurse. As they will take care of the situation that the other patients face.
The other residents and the relatives should have taken action and told them about that they are
being treated in a good way. It is seen that the nurse should tell about the situation to the
residents. It is assumed that these residents and relatives will have collaborative attitude and will
understand the importance of working together. As the nurses have shown care to the people and
they know that. It will not cause any problem or situation that is problematic.
Above mentioned are the interpersonal skills that are shared in different situations. It is seen
that all the person react in a different way.
TASK 2 and 3
SWOT Analysis
It is important for a person to know about the skills and weakness that a person has. It is
vital to work on the strengths and make them strong (Kotzab, Bourlakis and Wünsche, 2018). It
is also important to know about the weakness and work on them to improve them and convert
them as strength. As SWOT analysis is mentioned below:
Strengths
 I have effective communication skills.
Weakness
 I am not very good at giving advice. I

 I am proactive person. That always
helps me to understand the problems
that are faced by the individuals. Also I
am able to guide others. .
 I have good reporting skills. It is due to
the lessons that I took related to data
collecting with use of software.
am powerless to understand the issue or
provide any solution to anyone.
 I am unable to manage time and work
as per the deadlines. This shows I am
bad at time management skills.
 I lack writing skills. This is one of the
weaknesses that is faced by me.
Opportunity
 There are ample numbers of
opportunities that are available for the
people that have god and effective
communication skills.
 As a nurse I have to give advice and
talk to various patients and their
relatives. As I am good at giving
solutions it is another opportunity.
Threats
 There is raise in competition. This is a
threat that is present in ever job and
future option (Guerrero, Banson and
Cordero, 2019).
 I am facing one more threat and that is
related to lack of experience. I have not
done a job before.
Reflection
I have identified that I am good at communication skills. It is important for a person to
have good and effective communication skills to talk to others and to understand them. It is also
seen that a nurse should be good at communication skills as it is important to talk in a soft way
with the patients (Gale, Park‐Gates, and Peek, 2017). I have also understood that I am good at
reporting. There is requirement of a person that is able to note all the important things. Along
with that there is requirement of knowledge of digital software and I have understanding of data
collection software. It is also seen that I am an understanding person that always tries to
recognise the problem that is faced by others. So that will help me to empathise the problem that
is faced by my patient. It will help me to solve the issue in more effective way. It is important to
note that a person also has weakness. Ai have examined all the weakness and tried to find out the

solution so that I am able to work in a professional way. I have examined that I am not good at
writing skills. So I will take classes and practice writing skills on daily basis so that I do not face
any problem while doing the job. One of the major issues that I am facing is related to time
management. I am unable to manage time and that will cause problems while my job. So I have
decided that I will formulate a proper schedule in which I will write down my daily task and then
will try to complete them on time. This will help me to manage my work within time. It is also
important to note that competition is increasing day by day. I will work on my skills and will
make myself competed to gain advantage over the competition. I am also planning to so an
internship as that will add to my skills and knowledge. I want to take experience before doing the
job. If I will work on by strengths and weakness then it will help me to become a person that is
competent for the job.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be analysed that interpersonal skills play a vital role in
personal as well as professional life of an individual. It is seen that a person should have good
interpersonal skills. Establishing and sustaining positive personal relationships in the workplace,
interpersonal skills are crucial. People who have strong interpersonal communication skills will
therefore form positive working relationships with their superiors and work more efficiently. In
the report there is discussion related to interpersonal skills required at various levels. A swot
analysis as well as personal reflection is also part of this report.
