2PROFESSIONAL LEARNING Introduction The significant influence of the culture and motivation in terms of developingprofessional learning traits overseas is much recognizable. Especially, culture plays the mostimportant part to develop experiences of living in foreign countries (Merriam & Bierema, 2014).I am an Indian student pursuing my professional learning career. I set my focus on enhancingand deepening the knowledge in the professional learning field. Culture is perceived as the valueof an individual, which is highly influenced in a foreign scenario (Brookfield, 2010). In some ofthe cases, the individual may face the recognizable difficulties in adopting a new culture in aforeign country. If I consider personal example, I can even state that I am also facing thedifficulties in learning new culture in Australia. However, I believe that learning new culture canprovide me more opportunistic values to build the professional learning career. As a learner, Ishould always focus on developing the innovative knowledge and practices to accomplish bothmy professional and personal goals. Therefore, it is necessary for me to understand the factorsthat can motivate me in a considerable way. In this literature study, I shall provide the conceptualand theoretical underpinning related to the culture and motivation, which are the majorcomponents for my professional learning career in Australia. The purpose of this literature is to develop the enriched knowledge regarding the role ofculture and motivation in developing the professional learning efficiency. I should clearly focuson the particular approach that would motivate me towards learning the professional context in ascenario, which is culturally different. In fact, while pursuing the professional learning course ina foreign scenario, I need to understand the influencing factors that create the significant impact

3PROFESSIONAL LEARNING on the motivational aspects. It is quite necessary to identify such factors that can enhance myknowledge in the professional learning areas. Concept of CultureCulture is often conceptualized as the cumulative deposit of experiences, knowledge,values, beliefs, attitudes, shared values, and religion. According to Brookfield (2010), culture isthe medium of sharing knowledge by developing the suitable communication procedure. In aprofessional learning scenario, the cultural value of an individual creates the significanceinfluences on shared values. The migration experiences of an individual are highly influenced bythe foreign culture. Especially, when an Indian learner migrates to Australia, the individual mayface the considerable difficulties in dealing with the Australian culture. The differences inlanguages, accents, and cultural values are quite impactful for the professional learner in aforeign country. On the contrary, O’brien (2015) argued that the diverse cultural backgroundhelps in developing the innovative learning procedures that strengthens the professional skills ofan individual. The current challenging business scenario demands excellence and high advancedtechniques. The diverse cultural background provides such scenario to explore innovative ideasand create the excellence in the professional learning field. However, I am an Indian student and I came in Australia to pursue my professionallearning career. It is true that I have been learning the diverse techniques and methods ofstrengthening the professional attributes in this challenging scenario. Simultaneously, I havebeen facing the enormous challenge to deal with the Australian culture. It has been observed thatsome sections of the Australian society have the discriminatory attitudes and racial biasness. Thisdiscrimination creates the considerable challenges while learning in the country. In the further
