1) Background and Reflection
Background and reflection: A brief introduction to the context of your placement (200 words)
As we all know that placement is all about the determination of the job to which an accepted candidate
who went for interview is to be assigned as per his/her qualification, expeirne and skills (Kauffman and
Lloyd, 2019). The context of placement and work based learning is the hot and interesting topic which is
explained by people in education studies. The present study will be based on reflection part of placement.
When I went for interview in the tesco plc company as a human resource manager I was asked to complete
task given by interviewer I scored higher than the other candidate which makes me more confident to
achieve my academic success and professional goals. I was went through group discussion round which
helped me a lot as I am able to understand the importance of collaboration and teamwork. I think
placement is one of the most important thing in students life because it creates lots of job opportunities for
students who recently passed from their graduation and post graduation. Even experience people takes
part in interview process in order to get placed. By having placement process, students like me can easily
achieve growth as I have learned so many new things which I was not knowing before.
2) Preparation Week 1 & 2 (Placement Launch)
Details should be provided about the elements of the placement preparation programme which you engaged
with.
Learning Experience: What did you do? What did you learn from the sessions? How well do you think you
participated? (100 words)
As this was my first placement in this company, I am focusing on gaining insight into a particular area of
human resource to determine if it is suitable career choice for me. I know that many factors can influence
my placement experience and types of it such as changing selection pattern. During the placement process I
was tasked with group discussion on the topic of importance of employee engagement. With my team
members I have crack this round which helps me a lot to understand as I learn how employee engagement
and teamwork can complete task and achieve goals in the organisation.
What went well? What went not so well? Why? How can you assess this? (100 words)
I was even tasked with quiz in which me and my 4 teammates were asked to give correct answer from the
given options of the questions related to importance of communication skills. But one thing I was feeling
awkward about was that during the placement process i noticed that women are still considered less than
means that even in my past experience I was not allowed to take big tasks of the company because I am a
female staff. Despite I am having higher education level I was always pushed behind just because of gender
inequaity issues at workplace and learning place like schools and colleges.

What did you learn/achieve? Which employability criteria does this event impact upon? Have you changed how you
feel about your placement? If so, how? How do you want to be perceived on placement? (100 words)
During the placement process I have learned that it is the role of HR professionals to focus on gender
inequality for women. I have also achieved some important thing about organisational structures,
behaviours and procedure of selection all contribute to gender disparity in the learning and workplace. As
women are not getting promotion in the workplace due to this gender disparities are mutually reinforcing
on the basis of discrimination. Due to employability criteria like lack of motivation, womens are not able to
reach their goals (Grindal and et.al., 2019). This is the reason behind applying for human resource job
role I will make sure to work effectively by following laws and legislations related to gender equality.
Reflection: How will this experience be used for your personal development? What do you need to do or know before
you start? What practical actions can you take before your placement? (100 words)
This placement year can provide me inspiration as it will help me to develop my soft skills which helps me
to develop my teamwork. This placement process will enhance my experience and confidence level. This
process of placement helps me to increase my personal development (Agran and et.al., 2020). By having
this process I am able to know the importance of employees which are all valuable assests for professional
and academic career. I will take practical actions before placement are regular practice interview technique,
mock interview practice and prepare for job interview with the help of google search and my tutor.

of your placement.
Learning Experience: Tell us a bit about your placement. What is the organisation, what does it do? Where is it based,

During the placement weeks I have learned a lot of excellent things which helps me to enhance my

confidence level. I was selected as a human resource manager in the company Tesco plc. The organisation
provides various types of products or services to customers such as groceries items, homewares, clothing
etc. it is situated in UK there are lots of staff working in the different types of departments. Yes, I am clear
on my job role and projects that will be given by organisation such developing positive environment,
benefits and compensation and hiring and recruitment process.
What went well? What went not so well? Why? How can you assess this? How did you approach your first week?
What impression do you think you made? What are you excited/confident/nervous/worried about? (100 words)
During the interview I felt that I have made good professional connection with the interviewer. He smiled
and seemed to be energized and confident when talking with me and discussing details about my past
experience (Kurth and et.al., 2019). The interviewer asked many questions related to my past work,
experience, skills I have, weaknesses I have, my hobbies etc. I had an amazing and interesting first week,
the people I was surrounded by welcome me and I feel I have made some new friends during placement
process. I am so excited and very confident that I will work effectively to achieve my goals.
What did you learn/achieve? Which employability criteria does this event impact upon? What might you have done
differently? How confident did you feel? What could help you? Do you know where to go for support? Have you
contacted your Placement Tutor? (100 words)
During the interview process I was felt awkward because of gender inequality issue as at group discussion
time I was neglected by my interviewer. When I raise hand to answer the question the interviwer neglect
me which was quite disturbing thing happened with me. As we all know that motivation is the level of
commitment which helps people to reach goals. Due to employability criteria such as lack of support and
motivation has impacted the event. In order to deal with this situation I went to my placement tutor and
ask him to take some action regarding this.
Reflection: How will this experience be used for your personal development? What is your action plan? What could
you do to get more out of your placement? (100 words)
This incident/experience has improves my personal development too as after this expeirnce I am so
confident because I am able to spread awareness about support gender equality and avoid racism. I order
to develop my personal development plan and improve action plan I am going to focus on developing my
motivation level and self criticism skills as I am lacking behind. I am focusing on preparing for my job role
which helps me to spread awareness of equality at the workplace. I will grasp the opportunities to make the
most of networking opportunities in order to build strong relationship with employees.
