Professional Practice and Communication 2Executive summary The aim of his paper is to analyze the dumping of electronic waste (e-wastes) mainlyfrom Australia and other western companies reported by ABC News (Tourneau2017). Thispaper gives the overview of the case citing areas of concerns and the overall effects of thedumped e-waste no people living in that area. The paper reveals that Agbogbloshie dump hasbeen named the world’s worst site owing to the outcomes of e-wastes dumped in that place. Thepaper presents outcomes that include information security, the environmental impact ofpollution, and health consequence of e-waste and ethical concerns. Information security concernsare based on the security of data that is contained in e-wastes generated from western companies(Namias2013). The environmental outcome includes air, environmental and ecological pollutionwith toxic chemical from e-waste. Health outcomes include health risks associated with chemicaland heavy metals that are used to manufacture e-products. The paper also explores variousethical concerns and issues that influence manufacture and disposal of electronic products ortheir wastes (Khaleej Times 2016). The paper concludes by citing some of the measures thathave attempted to reduce e-waste. The paper concludes by giving some suggestedrecommendations for improvement to prevent e-waste dumped at Agbogbloshie dump. Forexample legislation or policies, awareness campaigns and recycling efforts are somerecommended improvement (United Nations News Service 2010).

Professional Practice and Communication 41.IntroductionWastes particularly from ICT components that include electronics and electronic partsthat have been used and dump are becoming a serious issue in Australia and globally. The wastesnormally called e-wastes contains lethal chemicals such as heavy metals and other toxicproducing components. The root of these wastes can be traced to the original engineeringcompany that manufactures the electronic without considering the waste chain. One of the worstdumping sites that have received attention recently is the Agbogbloshie dump in Accra Ghana. An e-wastes case that recently strikes the news is the case of St George Bank monitor that wasdiscovered in Agbogbloshie dump by WorkVentures and reported by ABC news. In the case, a13-year-old boy was seen carrying the monitor with sticker of St George Bank at theAgbogbloshie dump as reported by an environmental report in Ghana. This left many questionsabout the integrity of both waste chain and data stored in most e-wastes. The Agbogbloshiedump has attracted many concerns as wastes derived from many western countries piles withinthis dumped. Security of the data contained in computer parts forms the main concern as some e-waste from countries such as the USA with sensitive information are also spotted in thisdumping site. There are health, environmental, information and ethical outcome of this case. Thefollowing paper, therefore, seeks to analyze the e-waste case and outcome experienced along thee-waste chain.2.Australian e-waste ending up in toxic African dump, torn apart by childrenSt George Bank, wholly owned by Westpac discovered its used computer that wasdestined for recycling by WorkVentures. The bank monitor was discoveredraises the question on Australia e-waste management system (Tourneau2017). St George bank as a company has good waste management strategy that involves givingaway its electronics that are not used to recycle company. The matter reported by the Ghanaianenvironmental reporter during the normal health check to theAgbogbloshie dump conductedperiodically at the world’s worst dumping site. According to the reporter, more than 500containers containing e-wastes from western countries are visible in the area. Many of thesewastes are currently coming from Australia. This left many wondering the ethical moral of thosecompanies dumping e-waste in this area (Tourneau2017; Fela2010, pp 117). The situation at the Agbogbloshie dump is worsening, Australia being a bigger consumerof electronic products has its over 600,000 tonnes of e-waste annually dumped at Agbogbloshie.St George Bank monitor was part of this growing pile of e-waste at Agbogbloshie. The monitorwas thus featured hold by a boy at the Agbogbloshie dump for Don Quinn, operations managerat WorkVentures. It is reported that the company has contracts for Westpac's 15,000 e-wastesthat end up in the dumping areas. Moreover, Westpac's concern is about computers beingdumped within the area and integrity of the waste disposal chain (Tourneau2017; Minter2016).

This case revealed the heart and skin problemsthat characterize those kids living within the Agbogbloshie dump. The reporter indicated thatmost of these kids are suffering from skin problem mostly open skill sore. A close look at the lifeof kids living in this area reveals that some of these kids end up dying as a result of healthproblems (Yoshida 2011).
