INTRODUCTION
Learning, development and support services are being considered as work with students
so that they may develop their own academic skills and knowledge. Learning developers are the
one who majorly teaches, gives advise and delivers number of facilities to students (young
workers or interns) so that they may improve learning abilities while practising in a business
entity (Baldwin, 2016). In present assignment, Better Health Care Services which is a carer that
deliver health related services to patients or the person who are in need. Organisation have
recently given an opportunity to young workers to practice with them so that they may start
learning about the behaviour patients and learn to deliver appropriate services to patients as per
the requirements.
Report is going to focus on roles and responsibilities of workers that are already doing
business in learning, development and support services. Away with this, assessment is also going
to include current principles, values and there importance which will support in understanding
the concepts related to learning, development and support practitioners. Along with this, a
professional development plan has also been made which will aid in looking into weak and
strong points so that effective decisions can be made.
TASK 1
1.1 Purpose of Learning, Development and Support Services

entity to provide adequate training and support services to its young employees. The major
purpose behind providing learning, development and support services are:ï‚· Improving workforce competence and productivity- One of the primary aims of Better
Healthcare Services is to create a workforce that is qualified, competent, skilled and

ï‚· Motivating them to achieve organisational goals- Learning, development and support
services are not just associated with new employees, instead there is a strong focus of
Better Healthcare on continuous learning at all levels. When a young practitioner is
equipped with the skills and techniques to perform a specific task, he feels motivated to
work in an effective and efficient manner towards the accomplishment of organisational
goals (Cruess, Cruess and Steinert, 2016).
1.2 Roles and Responsibilities of those working within Learning, Development and Support
Services
The learning supervisors of Better Healthcare Services play a vital role in shaping the
young workers into productive assets for the entity. They have some roles and responsibilities
that they need to perform during their course of action, which are:ï‚· Providing Training- Learning developers of Better Healthcare Services equip the young
workers with the adequate skills and expertise required to perform a specific task with a
view to maximise their productivity and decrease the overall cost of operations.ï‚· Updating about Changes- The supervisors of Better Healthcare Services provide
information regarding any changes that take place in the management practices or the
working of the entity and the impact that the changes have on the overall working.
ï‚· Providing healthy environment- The supervisors of Better Healthcare Services facilitates
the development of its young employees by providing a stimulating and positive
environment conducive to learning and development (Evans, 2014).
TASK 2
2.1 Impact of current legislation, policies and influences on learning, development and support
services
EYFS (Early Years Foundation stage) :- The major impact which has been analysed of
EYFS is that it helped in setting out over all enactment needs along with the requirements related
to requirements which needs to meet. Here, parliament and senior authorities of department of
social and welfare has set the standards related to 0 to 5 year old aged children (Goldman and et.
al., 2014). This impacted positively on overall learning of new born babies and helped support
services like Better Health Care Services to make its own policies as well.
2

Key elements of effective practice (KEEP) :- This is being considered as a policy which
impacted positively on over all behaviour of practitioners in United Kingdom. Knowledge, skills,
understanding and attitudes practitioners are some of elements that are needed to be supported
considering young children's abilities and many more other things as well at the same time. Its
major impact was that children, staff and parents have been given a number of responsibilities
considering a number of areas which were majorly improving a number of chances of securing
values related to children and their norms (Gamrat and et. al., 2014).
The Children Act, 2004 :- This act was made considering emphasises incorporate
employment with a number of situations which raised a number of chances in improvements like
intervention. Its impact on Better Health Care Services was that it raised a number of chances of
providing positive outcomes for children, young people and their families as well.
2.2 Importance of effective practice that inform and drive legislative framework
Safeguarding children is the primary duty of an organisation. There are significant
differences in the laws and policies that shape how we safeguard children and how we safeguard
adults. Every organisation and person who comes into contact with a child has a responsibility
and a role to play to help keep children safe.
Developing open, honest and positive relationships between the child or young person
and workers is important for: Productive two way communication, facilitating the child, young
person's active participation in decision making, goal setting and case planning, promoting trust
between the child or young person and worker, genuine contribution and a greater sense of
control by the child or young person, maximising accountability of workers and Better Health
Care Services (Greene, 2017).
TASK 3
3.1 Current principles and values that underpin and inform the work of learning, development
and support practitioners
Some of current principles which has been carried out to support learning, development
and support practitioners are given beneath:
Child Centred :- This is being considered as one of the major principle which is followed
by every single practitioners (Savery, 2015). Away with this, some of the worst failures of the
system have occurred when practitioners have lost sight of the needs of the child, and
3

concentrated instead on their relationship with the adults. This principle has kept its focus on the
values relayed to child and by the lead social worker in addition to all other practitioners who
have a responsibility for the child’s welfare. Major value which has kept its focus on throughout
work with the child and family. The significance of seeing and observing the child cannot be
overstated. The child should be spoken and listened to, and account taken of their wishes and
their feelings as well (Higgs, J. and et. al., 2018).
Rooted in Child Development :- Another current principle which has been formulated in
which while working with children it is required for practitioners at Better Healthcare Services in
improving child development, and how the quality of the care they receive can impact on their
health and development. Under this principle, a number of stages are involved from infancy to
adolescence, which is being considered as one of the complex process of development.
3.2 Implementation of principles and values in own practice
In every single home care, it is required to implement all the principles so that effectively
all the values related to children can be raised. While working in Better Healthcare Services, I
have analysed that the working environment is already good in nature but when it comes to make
better decisions so that reputation of Better Health Care Services can get enhanced then it is
required to implement all the values and principles that has been made by parliament of United
Kingdom related to children's welfare (Hoaglund, Birkenfeld and Box, 2014).
3.3 Impact of principles and values that underpin the working of learning, development and
support practitioners
It has been analysed that principles along with values can change the overall working of
support practitioners like Better Health Care Services (Redmond, 2017). Major impacts that can
be seen on over all performance level of Better Health Care Services and its practitioners as well.
On the other hand, it has also been found that Better Health Care services may easily start
focusing on the issues which impacted upon health and well-being of patients as well at the same
time (Huffman, and et. al., 2014). Practitioners like Better Health Care Services can easily start
performing well if they will apply Child Centred and Rooted in Child Development principles
and this may aid in improving values as well at the same time.

TASK 4
4.1 The Importance of Obtaining the views of children, young people and carers to inform the
quality of service provision
Views of children, young people and carers are so important in order to improve quality of
service provision. Because views of customers plays important roles in determining quality of
services provided. Service provision have to make changes according to service takers and
services differ according to needs of every segment like, children needs are different from that of
adolescents and young people.
Views of Children and their parents: Parents of children wants that service provision
should focus on their children's safety, health and happiness because children needs intensive
care. They are so sensitive and can fell quickly ill if not taken care. And if they feel healthy, they
will become happy and so make everyone the same.
Views of Young people: Adolescents have different needs of services. They want
services to be catered to them should be very fast and frequent, it should be of new trends and
technologies. They always needs positive environments around them.
Views of Carers: Carers are considered to be as service providers who provide services to
people who need them. They are also having some needs regarding services like, they can
demand equipments before catering service, or technologies should be new to be adopted so that
they can be give services according to needs of customers.
4.2 How the views of children, young people and carers can be obtained
To make improvements in services of children, young people and carers, service
provision have to obtain views of them so that they can provide services to them accordingly.
And for this, service provision will take feedbacks from different people like, what type of
services they want, their needs and desires (Jackson, 2015). Organizations for obtaining views of
people can conduct surveys as in they can prepare questionnaires in which service providers will
mention questions that are related to children, young or adolescents and carers which in turn will
help them to get feedbacks from them. With the help of this survey, service providers will get to
know that all 3 segments have different needs regarding services they want, for which they have
to make improvements in order to satisfy their customers.

4.3 Own practices of change to services provisions as a result incorporating the views of
children, young people and carers
For me, it is required to make changes in services provision by analysing view points and
opinions of children, young and carers. On the basis of these practices, I can adopt new ideas to
make quality changes in my working supportive services. Main objectives of this process is to
acquire new ideas for providing appropriate services to each individual. As a example in a health
care organisation, services provider needs to develop new ideas for children care in order to take
care of their health and other issues. For this, it is required for me to analyse children and other
patient's need for desired changes. Carers are also a major part of an organisation who basically
stands for providing services to clients therefore it is required for me to analyse their views for
the further improvements in service provision. Major requirement of this process is to maximise
my own professional skills and abilities so that I can improve services experiences of
individuals. These activities will be beneficial for me to build long term relations with each
group of people.
TASK 5
5.1 Own responsibility for improving practices and performance
In a business organisation, it is a responsibility of services provider to conduct reporting
practices that assist in analysing working aspects (Knott and Scragg, 2016). In Better Health
Care Services it is required to for me to conduct performance management programs in order to
analysing skills and abilities of my workers. Therefore, I needs to work on these different stages
as -
Organisational reporting – These aspects are basically belongs to reporting practices in
which I can acquire skill and abilities of my worker in order to make changes. These are the
required factors that assist in analysing how can a business operate in different situations. Thus, I
needs to conduct such reporting programs so that I can manage working practices properly.
Supervision Processes – These working approaches basically conducts to analyse
requirement of patients and services providers. Through this, I can analyse require need of
business so that I can modify them properly. These are error detecting in which I can conduct
training sessions for my employees to enhance their abilities and skills as well. On the basis of
business practices I can provide quality services to my patients by analysing their need.

5.2 Implement change to enhance performance and promote professional development
Better healthcare services is a private company which focuses on the providing various
healthcare services. The company is can implement on professional development in order to
improvise the quality of the services of the organisation. These are as follows:
Training- Conducting training sessions for the employees can help them staying up to
date with the new techniques of handling patients and prepare them to tackle new heath problems
(Masters, 2015). On the basis f these training sessions, I can assure that all the employees are
well trained and efficient to handle critical and sensitive patients as well.
Medication- It is very important to introduce new advance medications in the health care
as there are various medical options that can give even better and faster results.
Tools and Equipments- The tools and Equipments are one of the most important
elements for the healthcare system. By providing new tools and equipments, better healthcare
system can be assure about the quality of service that would be delivered. As more tools would
lead to handling more patients of different needs at a time. Also, better equipments will help in
achieving results more rapidly.
TASK 6
6.1 Evaluate own skill, knowledge and practices against agreed criteria and objectives
In a health care sector, it is a required procedure to analyse skills of services provider by
conducting skill and knowledge practices of service providers (McConnell, 2014). Through this I
can enhance my abilities for for future development needs. In order to make changes in my
efficiency, it is required to analyse my skills and knowledge properly.
 Skills – I analysed my personal and professional skills in which I identified that I am
good in leadership approaches, time management and positivism in my behaviour. These
are the required skills while working in a health care organisation. Whereas, I am not as
good in technological knowledge of equipments and employees training practices
therefore I needs to make changes in

6.3 Reflective practice log to measure progress
After conducting a personal development plan, I analysed that changes are requires to
enhance my efficiency and abilities. Through this , I can enhance my abilities to attain future
objectives and goals. Through this, I can Competency breeds productivity. Thus by providing
learning, development and support services, the organisation aims at maximising the workforce
competence and productivity. The Learning developers of the company plans, prepares and
carries activities that stimulate, foster and develop the skills and knowledge of the young
workers, thus providing them the expertise necessary for accomplishment of a task.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned report, it has been concluded that every organisation keeps on
changing in terms of its management practices, workforce, goals and overall working
mechanism. Thus it becomes necessary for an entity to provide knowledge of the changes to the
staff. Also, it is significant to equip the new workforce with the necessary skills and expertise to
perform the operations of the company by carrying various learning and development
programmes for them. Learning and Development is a process that needs to be carried at all the
levels of the organisation. Also, providing the support services to the new employees as well as
the existing staff is of great importance. The development programmes motivate the employees.
Enthusiastic employees significantly out-produce and outperform the average workforce because
they are willing to go the extra mile and even do the difficult jobs.
