The question deals with a proper research on a famous Australian sporting figure who has
represented the country and provided best results. The player that has been chosen for this
question is Shane Warne, the legendary leg spin bowler for Australia. Currently, Shane is
working as a sports commentator as he has retired from cricket officially in the year 2013. He
has captained the ODI team for some years. He has also participated in Indian Premier League
for Rajasthan Royals and won the trophy in the very first edition of the tournament.
He was born on 13th September in the year 1969 at Victoria in Australia. He made his test
debut in the year 1992 against India. He retired from test cricket officially in the year 2007 in the
Ashes Series against England. This was very memorable as Australia thrashed England in the
Ashes Series with a huge margin of 5-0. He had been a member of Australian cricket team in
three successive ICC World Cup triumphs in 1999, 2003 and 2007 (Cricketaustralia.com.au
2019). One of his best achievements was in IPL where he played four seasons for Rajasthan
Royals from 2008 to 2011 (Hajela 2015). There he played the role of both coach and captain of
the team. He has taken 5 wicket hauls in test cricket as much as 37 times and this reflects what a
legend he was for the game. He is the second highest wicket taker in test cricket with 708
wickets just after Sri Lankan spin maestro Muttiah Muralitharan (Cricketaustralia.com.au 2019).
He faced numerous best batsmen in the world of contemporary times like Sachin
Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Sanath Jaysuriya and many others. This is why he
has been revered as one of the best bowlers of all time for his achievements and contributions to
Australian cricket (Cricketaustralia.com.au 2019). Though he has got involved in some personal

scandals, it has been overshadowed by his brilliant performances. He has mentored many players
both in his country and other countries. He has deceived many great batsmen through his magical
spin deliveries that have captivated minds of his fans.

There are some important strategies that can be utilized by product and service providers
to inform customers about the availability of new paper products in stock. The service
providers can opt for sending messages directly to customers or else they can also opt to
send notifications in the mobile of their customers. They can show their product portfolio
and advise customers by showing benefits of those products (Sheehan 2013).
As a consultant for the project of Effective Solid Waste Management, one should report
to the local council about the issues with solid waste management about chosen regions.
The local councilors should be made aware of difficulties. The natives of the region
should be made aware of their responsibilities through organizing campaigns. People
should be cautioned about use of plastics and consultant should urge them to recycle the
objects for a better environment.
In a small building society, the emergency preparedness plan should be based on the
arrangement of fire extinguishers and trained security guards of how to cope up with
sudden emergency situations (Guerrero, Maas and Hogland 2013). In case of natural
disasters, security guards should response at the quickest to rescue the people of that
building society. Saving of their lives should be treated as the first priority indeed.

Case Study- Marco and Jim
Q.1
In the given case study, the level of conflict has been a very crucial one to address. Marco
has been appointed as a Senior Accounts Manager who has not been able to meet his budget in
his first two months. It seems that his perspective of looking at situation is somewhat different
from Regional Manager Jim. There is a sort of interpersonal conflict between those people. Jim
has viewed this situation from a completely professional manner as he is urging Marco to sell top
priority Galcore product. Marco does not agree because he thinks that product is not effective or
good enough to satisfy customers. This has hampered his budget sales and his professional
growth (Condliffe 2012). If this interpersonal conflict goes on in the future, it will affect the
integrity of the company. The main reason of this conflict is regarding misunderstanding of
business priorities by Marco and Jim’s continuous insistence on the same. Naturally, States
Manager of Con Electrics would want higher sales so higher revenues can be generated.
Therefore, this conflict has impacted on company’s sales badly. It has hurt the ego of Jim since
Marco accused him or partiality over others.

According to the conflict resolution map, it is extremely important to find out whether
decisions of the senior has been imposed or with mutual agreement. It seems from the case study
that Marco has not agreed to this issue completely so he will require more time to understand the
obligations made by Jim. As Marco has put up the obligation of partiality on Jim, this case
should be treated with importance (Condliffe 2012). Jim is right from his perspective since he
has to meet the basic objectives of the business. This issue should be treated with calm mind
ensuring no damage has been done to the professional careers of both. This interpersonal conflict
cannot be resolved until one move from his position. Therefore, Marco must consider his
position as he has to increase his sales budget for benefits of the company. The conflicts will
create a distance between these two persons resulting in dissatisfaction of stakeholders.

It is indeed extremely essential for Jim to make sure that he produces some constructive
responses towards Marco to avoid this conflict situation and come to a definite resolution. When
he meets Marco the next day at 3 pm in a meeting, he should make it clear that Marco is not
doing his work as per the needs of the company (Singer 2018). Jim has to talk to Marco in a
good manner making sure that he does not hurt emotions of Marco regarding his job position. On
the other hand, Marco should also say sorry for accusing Jim of partiality over other accounts
managers without any solid evidence (Haynes, Haynes and Fong 2012). The primary aim of Jim
will be to encourage Marco to achieve his sales budget of $1 million per month. Otherwise, the
company will suffer in terms of ales. Thus, Marco should thrive to work harder and sell Galcore

products as it is the top priority of the company (Wallensteen 2018). Any complaints from
customers could be entertained later on.

Marco is desperate to resolve conflicts with Jim because it is a matter of his professional
integrity. Therefore, he should stay calm and composed over this matter when he approaches Jim
the next day. He should map out how he would talk to Jim and apologize to Jim for his conduct
the previous day. Anyhow he will have to convince Jim that he is willing to work harder and
bear positive fruits for the company. A sense of realization should be there in Jim that he should
always care for his responsibilities as a senior accounts manager. This kind of behavior from him
will put his professional career under jeopardy. His performance has not been up to the mark in
the last two months but he should stay confident that he can compensate for that in the coming
months. Jim would be pleased to see his determination to meet the budget sales for the month.
Case Study- Patrick and Danielle
Q.1
This case study has dealt with the interview and communication skills of Danielle, who
works in a real estate agency with a client Patrick. Danielle has been very much skillful in
communicating with Patrick despite knowing that the office was understaffed that day. Patrick is
a student who was in need of cheap accommodation to stay and study. Patrick had some things to
say and it was very important for Danielle to listen to those (Khalili 2012). Therefore, Danielle
had put up many important points while communicating with Patrick. It seems that the
communication skills of Patrick are very effective. She found out that there was a need for
immediate attention so he took down details of Patrick and giving him proper feedbacks. This

had been enhancing for Patrick to be open minded and share his needs regarding accommodation
to Danielle. It has been proved that Danielle is a very good listener and she has listened to
important things as said by Patrick. These effective communication skills of Danielle have made
her suitable for her job (Khalili 2012). She has approached Patrick in a way that he can feel
comfortable and does not get afraid. Thus she has made Patrick easy with her approach.

In the midst of this case study, it has to be understood that the interpersonal effectiveness
has not been good enough. Her communication skills have been excellent but she has not been
able to show interpersonal effectiveness. It means how she can make balance between priorities
and demands of the customers. She has not been able to describe the current situation to Patrick
and know about his priorities and demands. She has only listened to the needs of accommodation
for Patrick but she has not expressed his feelings of opinions. Her role play abilities are not much
effective as it should have been (Khalili 2012). She has not been assertive in his opinion as well.
No distractions have been made to Patrick but she herself was distracted as she had to attend
other things because of understaffing at office. She did not validate Patrick by judging Patrick.
This is why her interpersonal effectiveness was not at its proper place.

Case Study- Ethics and Code of Conducts
This case study shows that Jean is a database programmer and he has committed an
unethical thing in his office that is against the ACS Code of Ethics and Code of Professional
Conduct (Acs.org.au 2019). He was supposed to complete his project by his own and submit to
professional journals. However, he could not do it because his boss wanted him to complete the

project within a few days. He studied about two codes which belonged to one of his co-workers
and commercial software. Thus he finds himself in a state of guilt because he had to violate his
code of professional conduct. The Thomas White methodology has to be used in this scenario.
As per this methodology, Jean should always keep the outcomes of his activity. He should feel
that his co-worker would be deeply saddened if he found his work had been used by Jean for his
benefits (Acs.org.au 2019). Jean should have gone through the entire phase of doing the research
and publish his works in the professional journals.
On the contrary, he had to use these codes in an unethical manner. If ACS Code of Ethics
is applied to this case study, it can be found Jean did it in a dishonest manner. Therefore, he is
guilty (Acs.org.au 2019). He has also not been able to upgrade his knowledge through this
method. His knowledge gaining has been thoroughly hampered as he used the codes of his co-
worker. In this scenario, Jean should have asked his boss that it was not possible for him to
complete the work in such a short span of time since he would have to complete the work. The
thorough research work will surely take some more time. The professional reputation of John
will not also be there by any means indeed (Acs.org.au 2019). He should have been more
assertive in communicating with his boss that he has to finish that project of database
programming with securing professional codes of conduct and full honesty. He should not be
unfair to his co-worker like that because he or she had completed with tedious research work that
he simply used without asking for permission.
