system of the region has the huge influence on the growth and development of the region.
Education and training sector is a sensitive area in which people are highly concerned and pays
appropriate attention to it (Ahrari and et. al., 2019). Certain factors to have influences over the

Currently some of the major factors and elements which do have prominent influence on
evolution and changing of educational policy within United Kingdom that are belonging to the
social sector are as follows:
Raising Standards of Learning is the first major element which brings and introduce
change in the educational policy. As known that industries as well as the world is being evolving
which is creating new opportunities and possibility is for learners and students to grow with a
unique skill set and potential. Hence the result is raising standards of learning because of regular
changes and competition been increasing in the industry and the society (Jones, 2019).
Promoting Widening Participation friend is the area or the element which states that
education industry is evolving. To prove the fact, the example which is most common today is
training and development taking place in industries and organisations where employees are insisted
and encouraged to learn more and update their skills.
Explain how these political factors influence education policy
Political factor is related with government of the region where the ruling party and
administrative bodies develop certain rules and regulations for smooth and effective functioning of
the country and region favouring all the segments and groups in the society (Barrett., 2017).
In United Kingdom most educational institutes like schools and colleges are operated by
political parties and associations with the help of business investors and their money (Duran-
Hernandez, Flores-Mora and Cornejo-Macias, 2018). Some of these factors are as follows:
Analysis of educational policies in terms of ideological supporting is the first political
factor which influences and brings changes in the working of the educational environment in the
country. Ideological supporting and its relationship with educational policies are concerning for the
government as it renders them the chance and the opportunity to provide to the future generations of
the country who are going to be running the markets as well as the whole society with their
capabilities and skills (Middlemass., 2017).
Government Legislations, the political party or the government flourishing and having
their jurisdiction in the country and the society do have the responsibility to develop and implement
effective as well as value adding educational policies and systems for the students and generations.
But at the same time the government is not only responsible for developing 1 policy there are
hundreds number of number of policies that are essential and required to be developed and
reviewed by the political administrative party (Lang and et. al., 2017). Hence the influence which is
being imposed by these political legislations and governmental laws on education policy are very
significant.

Explain how these economic factors influence education policy
The education industry is not directly impacted or influenced by the economic conditions of
the area but they are more significantly and highly impacted by the economic conditions and factors
in the indirect manner. The economic conditions have recently been fluctuating in the region from
the past few years due to Brexit which recently executed and then the covid-19 which has been a
huge fracture to the world economy and diversities (ENACHE and et. al., 2019).
Therefore, these economic factors may not be directly in packing education industry but are
being indirectly influencing it. For example, due to covid-19 schools and other educational
institutes are being closed down and students are taking their classes from home by using internet
and different digital media. Therefore, it is highly visible that economical factor does have influence
over the educational policies and systems which are being developed in United Kingdom. Some
specific factors are
Increasing investments in the sector – with the increase in the investment in the specific
sector the the policy might get changed as they have to develop their policy according to the same
reflecting the local employment needs- when the institution is analysing the local
employment needs then the institution when they are framing the education policy they have to take
a note about it.
2.2 ANALYSE THE IMPACT OF CURRENT EDUCATION POLICY ON CURRICULUM
AND PRACTICE IN OWN AREA OF SPECIALISM.
What is the impact of current education policy on curriculum and practice in own area of
specialism?
Accounting and management is a specialised area in which I have been working as a
professional teacher in University. The impacts placed on education policy and curriculum and
practices in United Kingdom is by the businesses and industries. The industry sector become more
vocal in past years which offered them the ability to be more vocal to government about lacking
skills in professional (Volante, Fazio and Ritzen., 2017).
The business industry has been lobbying the government into developing something poor
skills, education and functional abilities of applicants. Thus, the change began within the education
sector of United Kingdom. The Labour Government in 2007 changed the education system and
policy by making emphasis on assessments and assignment on different levels. For the same, in
2010 a new Conservative Government continued the work began and made sure of improving the
practices and teaching exercises of professional teacher and tutors across the board and made
changes in the qualification structure. There are various thing that are having a very high impact
form the current education policy. One of the impact is creating programmes of study, in this the
Document Page
teacher or the instructor create a programme or session for the student so that they can study and
that they can develop their skills (Volante, Fazio and Ritzen., 2017).
Next up the Government Policy also introduced new processes and requirements for
professional and made them work over their practices in order to give regular assessments. A
Standardized Quality Assurance (QA) was then outlined in the manuals of Universities which was
focused over maintaining high standards of learning and teaching. This is a check system which was
introduced for making a curriculum report to the leadership of the Universities about the standards.
The best example of business industry emphasis can be presented by the accounting courses of
United Kingdom like ACCA and accounting course which is known Association of Certified
Chartered Accountants which is managed and authorised by Institute of Chartered Accountant
England (ICAE). The courses and study material of the course that is ACCA are emphasized and
made according to requirements of businesses as per the skill requirement in the industry of
accounting and management as well as the learning which is essential for companies to make use of
the professional to the fullest and in the best manner possible.
