INTRODUCTIONPlagiarism is refers to as a type of intellectual fraud or theft which involves using wordsof another person and passing them off by presenting it as own without providing credit eitheraccidentally or deliberately. This activity can brings up negative consequences to a person andmay affect their reputation (Seabrooke and Nilsson, 2015). This report is based on plagiarism incontext of business setting which puts light over the definition and relevance of plagiarism inacademic writing along with its type. It further involves relevance of academic integrity inprofessionalism and consequence of lack of academic integrity along with ways of avoiding it toimprove writing and integrity in business setting.MAIN BODYPlagiarism is refer to as practice of taking credit for the words or idea which are beingshared by some another person. It is basically a conduct of intellectual dishonesty as it involvethe practice of taking credit over the work as well as ideas of others by representing as their own.In addition to this, it also results into serious consequences like a suspension, expulsion or failinggrade to student. Plagiarism detection has a great relevance in academical writing as academicdishonesty due to paraphrasing devalues everyone else's hard work. With help of plagiarismdetection the ideas and word of another person can be kept more secure. There are several typeof plagiarism such as direct plagiarism, paraphrased plagiarism, accidental plagiarism andMosaic plagiarism (Assiter, 2017). Among them direct plagiarism is one where a person copyingwork of another person from word to word. The paraphrased plagiarism is one which involvesact of making few changes to someone else's work and then taking a credit of doing by own.Mosaic plagiarism is a combination of above two which involve tossing several words, sentencesand phrases without providing attribute or quotation marks. Accidental plagiarism mainly occurswhen citation is missing from the content or incorrect source citation. This plagiarisms aremainly occur when a research is not organised properly as when one fails to cite sourceappropriately then individual is considered as having intention of taking credit over other'sthought. Internet has increased the plagiarism practices as with the help of this students get easyaccess to paper database which they can download and pass them off or paraphrase by takingcredit of it. But on the other side internet plays a crucial role in making plagiarism detectioneasier by giving rise to Turnitin and CopySpace that are creating for detecting plagiarism. 1
