INTRODUCTION:
These skills are used by the people which shows there behavior for effective interaction
with the others. The ability and capability of communication of the people to maintain and
mange their relationships with the others. In this file three case studies which shows the
interpersonal skills of the people which is related to their health. This file explained various
practices used for the health care which is very essential for the interpersonal skills of the people.
Analyze and interpretation of different uses if the interpersonal skills of these three case studies
which is described in this file. There are different barriers of communications which is used to
analyze them. There are various process of teamwork which is explained and evaluate them in
this file about the interpersonal skills of the three case studies.
CASE STUDY 1 : “The right to know”
1. Importance of interpersonal skills in the health care practices:
Interpersonal skills is very essential in the health care practices which includes the
effective communication skills, relationships, team work, problem solving. The behavior of the
nurses should be friendly, positive, responsible towards their patient so it is important in the
interpersonal skills.
There are different types of the interpersonal skills which is used by the nurses in the
health care practices of the Mr Adams in this case study. The relationship of the nurses is very
important in the taking care of the patient for the effective treatment and health progress. In this
case study the relationships of the nurse with the Mr Adams is not good because he was avoided
by the staff of the hospital due to his health issue. The truth of his diseases has not been told to
the Mr Adams because the nurses thought he would lose hope angive up. the staff of the hospital
feels uncomfortable to tell the whole truth to the patient and this will leads to the mental stressed
of the Mr Adams. For the effective relations with the patient their have to be effective
communication skills should be used by the nurses for the proper care of the patient and for fast
recovery (Anderson and Perlman, 2019). Actively listening of the patient question and answer
them properly is the part of the effective interpersonal skills of the nurses in the hospital. The
nurse should exercise the self awareness of the Mr Adams to know that what they are feeling for
their diseases and motivate them.
2. Barriers to communications in the health care practices:

In this case study barriers which affects the health care practices in the hospitals are
physical, social and psychological barriers. Physical barriers refers to the environment issue and
affects the communication process of the nursing. Reduction in the noise, maintain the privacy of
the patient limited size of the room and minimum lighting which make the communication
effective and helps in the prevention of the patient. Psychological barriers includes the anxiety,
stress, obesity, sexuality diseases of the patient affects the effective communication in the
nursing. Social barriers involves the proper knowledge of the patient culture, language, customs
which is very useful for the communication effectively. In this case study there are various
communication barriers which is faced by the nurses while treatment of the Mr Adams. The
evasion of the truth is the main barriers in the communication of the nurses with the Mr Adams
in this case study. The nurses feel uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the care of patient and
results in the metal stress of the Mr Adams. The nurse have to face lots of difficulty and stress
when they share issues relevant to disease of the patients. Ineffective relations with the patient is
also the barriers in the communication process of the nurses. In this case study their relations
with the Mr Adams should be compromised because they are not willing to tell the whole truth to
the Mr Adams about their disease.
3. Issues related to working in the team:
While working in the team there are various problems faced by the nurses in this case
study such as problems in making decisions, difficulty in solving the conflicts, lack of creativity,
lack of participation, leadership should be ineffective and there is no identity of the team. This
case study explains that the medical educational establishment is fails to identify the issues of the
humans and results in the lack of the nurturing approach of the feminine. And this approach have
impact on the practices of the nursing by creating problems in the process of the decision-making
. The truth and the reality is not faced by the Mr Adams and his family because they did not get
the chance to accept the reality of his death.
The decision-making process is involved in the teamwork in this case study. The proper
effective decision is taken by the nurses while taking care of the patient effectively and faster.
Doctors take the decision to not to tell the patient about their disease because it will affect their
interest and might be give on the fighting due to their illness (Cerezo-Narváez, and et.al., 2018).
Nurses feel difficulty to accept in not to tell the patient about their prognosis. The evasion of the
truth is the main issues which affects the relationships of the nurses with their patient.

For example in the Mr Adam case study the doctors and the nurses shows their
interpersonal skills to encourage them and motivate them for their fast recovery of their health
issues.
CASE STUDY 2: “Barbara: the whole story”
1. Importance of interpersonal skills:
Interpersonal skills of the nurses will have the great effects on the patient because proper
communication, responsibilities of the nurses towards the patient, motivation, team work is
necessary for the faster recovery. In the case of the Barbara the nurses and the staff does not use
their interpersonal skills and it will affect the health of the Mrs Barbara rees more dangerously.
The staff of the hospital does not listen to the problems of the Barbara which she is facing about
their health in fact the nurses and doctors demotivate the Barbara about her health issues. They
have to motivate the Barbara for the faster recovery. The interpersonal skills involve the active
listening of the nurses to the patient about their health issues which they are facing (Lambert,
2018). In the case study of the Barbara the nurses is not give the full attention of what Barbara
wanted to say, So this case study says that the nurses should use their interpersonal skills. The
nurses and doctors are responsible for the treatment of the patient so in the case study of the
Barbara the nurses take the full responsibilities of the Barbara health and make sure by asking
each and every question to her about her health. The nurses monitor the Barbara to make sure
that the Barbara recovering or not. In this case study the nurses and the doctors have to tell the
issues of the health to the Barbara in the most effective way for the fast and effective recovery.
2. Barriers to communications in the Barbara case:
In the case study of the Barbara there are lots of barriers in the communication process
between the patient and the doctor's and it will affect the health of the patient. In this case study
there are lack of privacy and noises of the background is the main barriers of the communication.
The nurses cannot connect effectively with the patient and patient get distracted by the
background noises, so they cannot openly communicate with the doctors about their health
issues. Barbara's ability to communicate with the doctors is also get affected by her health issues,
mental health and pain this will also say that a big barrier of the communication. The nurses and
the doctors have to identify and evaluate these barriers so that the health of the patient will not
get affected by these communication barriers (Raczynski and Horne, 2015). The Barbara could
not communicate with the doctors by their pain and anxiety in the case study so the doctors will

have to check effectively the patient problems to remove these barriers of communication.
Minimize the noises which is happened in the hospital and maintain the privacy of the patient, so
they cannot effect the physical noises which is happened in the hospital. The doctors try their
efforts to remove the barriers of the communication which gives benefits to the patient and
doctors in expressing their problems.
3. Issues related to working in the team:
In the case study of the Barbara there are various issues which is happened when the team
of the nurses is working in the hospital. There is no leadership quality in the team of the nurses
during the treatment of the Barbara. The team could not perform their functions with the
coordination and everybody doing their work without coordinating in the Barbara case study.
Better and effective teamwork leads to the proper care of the people by their services in the
hospital (Matteson, Anderson and Boyden, 2016). The effective teamwork of the nurses in the
hospital minimizes the errors and increases the safety of the patient. Improvement in the
performance of the nurses and give the best care to the patient and encourage them for their
recovery fast. If the nurses and the doctors will work together in the Barbara case this will helps
in the communication freely between the patient band the nurses. The patient will freely
communicate will the nurses and doctors about their health issues in the hospital.
For example if the nurses and the doctors of the Barbara give the proper attention to their
problem and listen to them effectively which helps to reduce her pain and anxiety.
CASE STUDY 3: “Skill for health NHS training”
1. Importance of interpersonal skills:
In this video of the training the nurses and the doctors have the interpersonal skills from
which they communicate and motivate the patient so that they recover fast. The nurses and the
doctors make the patient comfortable in the atmosphere of the hospital for the better and
effective treatment of their diseases. The doctors and the nurses will not get behave bad with the
health issues of the patient rather they have to give the proper care and attention to the patient.
proper care of the patient by the nurses and the doctors shows their interpersonal skills to treat
the patient in such a manner that they will recover fast and not get demotivate by their disease.
The use of the interpersonal skills by the doctors during the treatment of the patient plays crucial
role in the hospital. In this case study the nurse have the effective communication skills which
helps the patient to communicate openly with them and did not get frustrated by the staff of the

hospital. There is need of the interpersonal skills when the nurses and the doctors giving their
services to the patient for their effective treatment of the and faster recovery of their health
issues. In this case study the staff of the hospital does not behave properly with the diseases of
the patient so it will affect the health of the patient.
2. Barriers to communications:
Communication barriers ion the working of the hospital between the patient and the
nurses creates lots of problems. In this case study there is the full privacy given to the patient so
that the patient cannot get distracted and anxious with the disturbing noises in the hospital. The
management of the hospital mental the silence in the hospital so the noises cannot become the
barriers in the communication between the nurses and the patient. Behavior of the human
sometime also creates the barriers in the communication. These barriers affect the health of the
patient because they cannot communicate their problem properly and openly. In this case study
the patient get the full attention by the nurses and there is no miscommunication in the
atmosphere of the hospital. The way the patient behaves is also affects the communication
process. In the training of the skills case study the doctors manage the good communication for
the patient so the patient feels comfortable to tell their problems of the health.
3. Issues related to working in the team:
In this case study the staff of the hospital coordinate their activities for the successful
treatment of the patient. They maintain the leadership quality for the treatment of the person in
the hospital. These skills of the nurses and the doctors work together for the successful and fast
treatment (van Leusen, Ottenbreit-Lefwich and Brush, 2016). The staff of the hospitals focuses
to provide the effective services of the hospital so that they will get the bet services by the nurses
and the doctors. Noises of the background in the hospital should be reduces so it will create the
good communication in the hospitals. Staff of the hospitals works as a team to manage the
patient who is suffering from the various issues of the medical and reduces the risk and errors of
the medical in this case study (Yu and Brown, 2019). If the nurses and the doctors works
together as a team it will create the good and productive workplace for them.
For example their must be the use of the interpersonal skills of the doctors and the nurses
in the training of the nursing for the successful treatment of the patient in the hospital.

CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that the interpersonal skills of the doctors for
their patient have the major role in the hospital. The successful treatment of the patient requires
the effective interpersonal skills of the doctors and the nurses. The nurses and the doctors have to
reduces the barriers of the communication for better and fast recovery of the patient. These
barriers of the communication creates lots of problems and misunderstanding between the patient
and the nurses so it is necessary to minimize these barriers. From the above study there are lots
of issues in the teamwork of the staff of the hospital. Leadership, coordination working together
in the hospital for the improvement of the health issue of the patient.
