Introduction:
The impact of the social beliefs, superstitions and the cultural or religious practices on
the personal evolution, is seen to be significant in the modern generation. Even in the 21st
century, a large section of the global population is seen to be largely influenced by the
inappropriate social practices and that is petty evident with the practices various deadly
traditions (Shafer 2014). A massive section of the people are observed to be influenced with
the repetitive practices of such activities and that effectively invites major troubles in their
personal and professional life. The paper is focused in evaluating the concept of deadly
traditions with a precise focus on the context of the modern generation and it also argues
whether such practices should continue or not.
Discussion:
The concept of the deadly traditions is generally influenced by the cultural beliefs and
the traditions of a particular society. The influence of the vague social beliefs or the religious
assumptions which do not have any scientific base, is observed to be a major cause of the
deadly traditions. Shafer (2014) claimed that, even in the modern century where the presence
of the social media is significantly prominent, a certain section of the people are observed to
convert the religion as the business commodity. They intentionally influence the general
religious public so that they be inclined towards the practice of the religious activities. Tilby
(2013) claimed that, in majority of the cases, the people at the top of the hierarchy of the
religious groups influence the people for their own profit. It is observed that the religious
leaders convince their followers regarding the benefits that they are expected to achieve in
their life with the participation in the deadly traditions. However in majority of the cases, the
eventual result for the general people are observed to be utter disappointment. Along with
this, the sacrifice conducted by the people for participating in these sorts of dangerous
