1PROGRAM OBJECTIVE Program objective The main of the research program is to collect data on experiences and perceptions of people living with diabetes or those providing care to patients with diabetes. The main rationale for this being evidence of reports related to poor quality of life in people with diabetes and impact of poor self management knowledge in contributing to high burden of the disease condition (Donovan, 2017). The program aims to assess challenges based on unique context and background of each participant. The objective is to improve health outcomes, quality of life outcomes, health related behaviour and health related environment outcomes for diabetes patient. The key research objectives are as follows: To identify the challenges and solution to controlling blood sugar level in diabetes patient (health outcome) To assess experience of participants in the management of diabetes (quality of life outcomes To evaluate current self management skills in controlling the disease condition (health related behaviour outcomes) To develop skills to effectively self manage the disease and implement guidelines engage in healthy behavioural change (health related environmental outcomes) The long term program objective is defined below: By 2025, the number of adults affected by type 2 diabetes or newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes will have awarenessregarding risk factors and the diagnosed patients will have skills in self management of the disease condition and controlling blood sugar level.
