From the Module 4, I was able tounderstand what it takes to be an effective global project manager. This was madeclear since I got to know that it has become a commonplace for us to work withvirtual teams. I was able to understand the reality today that even small firms arecomfortable with the virtual teams due to their outsourcing operations to sourcehealthier economics. We were able to appreciate that physical distance is no longer abarrier to doing business because of improvements in communications andtechnology. The virtual project managers, however, face come unique challenges. Viathe examination of the rewards and pressures of the virtual teams and how levels ofauthority vary between physical present teams and virtual teams, we able to fullyunderstand how best we could launch the group assessment, HT plan. Understandingthe challenges in building the circle of trust around the team especially when he groupis dispersed geographically remained applicable in our experience because our workwas based on group, and hence the need to override such challenges. As reflected inModules 4 and 3, especially on Human Resource Plan, I understood the need todevelop an organizational chart for the project team, a staffing plan and a teambuilding plan. This chart was useful in ensuring that we remained focus on our scopeto achieve the desired goals.
