INTRODUCTION
Project is outstanding opportunity fro an individual to makes actions for attaining
personal objectives more effectively by executing changes (Bryan and Clegg, 2019). The present
project is based on teaching, learning addition to assessment in Education together with Training
for ESOL teacher at Tottenham English Center. It is bifurcated in five tasks that are report,
investigative report, portfolio of teaching evidence, personal analysis and evaluation.
TASK A Report
a) Roles and responsibilities at place of work
ESOL (English as a Second language) teacher have various roles are responsibilities at
Tottenham English Center that are as follows:
Supporting the people that are non English speaker.
Creating lesson plan, assigning homework, leading classroom sessions.
Researching new and unique teaching methods to teach English as second language.
Making parents aware about progress of their children.
Preparing classroom together with course materials (Busby, 2019).
b) Profession boundaries or ways for maintaining professional boundaries
Professional boundaries are said to rules and limits which prevent limes among career to
that of client from becoming fuzz. These are set by legal, organisational etc frameworks in order
to maintain safe work place for clients and staff members. In case with ESOL teacher,
professional boundaries are maintained through setting clear expectations with learners and
parents at beginning of admission. The other ways includes reviewing relationships with
students, meeting guardians of students on regular basis and building boundaries right away
(Carpenter and Dickinson, 2016).
c) Ways for Initial and Diagnostic Assessment that inform Individual learning plan
ESOL teacher uses multiple techniques through which initial and diagnostic assessment
may inform individual learning plan. Some of the ways are as follows:
Ensuring that students are right for course: By making right decision and assuring that
learners are suitable for the particular course, initial learning plan is informed. It so

important for ESOL teachers to ensures that students are suitable for course or class and
by conducting assessment they informs about the learning plan.
Awareness about Numeracy/ Literacy level: Literacy or numeracy level among
students also helps assessment to inform about learning plan of individual learners
(Davies, Elliott and Cumming, 2016). ESOL teacher conducts Initial as well as
Diagnostic Assessment so to become aware for level of numeracy and literacy among
students so that learning plan can be properly devised and informed promptly.
TASK B Investigation Report
a) Focus on the requirements of inclusivity to collect the requirements of learners
The considering discussion is about the ways of learning style which should be put into
practice and it happens because of various tactics regarding the teachers preparations to take
initiates for the desire as well. Along with this, it might be multi modal and considered as the
combination of two or more styles of learning theory. Furthermore, the types of scholars should
absorb more effectively considering the principal style which should be undertaken as per the
requirements of learners.
b) State ILP for learner/practical folder
Undertaking the valuation of coursework which is useful in the brainstorming and also
helps in demo and other discussions. This is more effective within the clusters and also
segregated into several groups in order to learn essay through cross evaluations. In this, the
verbal communication tool is more high undertaking the mentoring techniques that also become
primarily due to the arrival of various tools considering the learning techniques like YouTube
and online courses of learning.
c) State ways in which teaching and learning plans are adapted to match the individuals
requirement
Inclusive learning is considered as the wisdom that encounters the needs and knowledge
considering the styles, aptitudes and involvement of suitable scholars. For this the probable
objective is to identify the requirements and treasure trove that entails maturing endowment and
other approaches of resources that matches with the set scales. Therefore, it is required to
brooding over others report. Along with this, it also make sure the needs and personality
considering the involvement of suitable scholars.

d) Explanation about important to promote Appropriate Behaviour as well as Respect for others
For ESOL Teacher, it is important to promote appropriate behaviour along with respect
for others in Tottenham English Center as it assist in building suitable environment for learners
to study and work. It is also important for establishing ground rules in beginning that prevents
problems or complexities which have possibilities to arise in future.
e) Definition of Equality/ diversity along with ways to promote them
Equality is defined as ensuring everybody receives equal opportunity as well as are not
treated differently due to characteristics including age, gender, status etc. In Tottenham English
Center, ESOL teacher promote equality by treating all learners fairly, devising inclusive culture
for all students and staff, ensuring equal access to opportunities which help learners to
participate with motivation in learning process.
Diversity is defined as talking consideration of differences among people along with
group of people to place positive values (Dzisi and Odoom, 2017). Within Tottenham English
Center, diversity is promoted through self awareness, incorporating distinct teaching styles,
encouraging diffenet perspectives and purposeful planning.
f) Understanding about Initial/Diagnostic/ Formative/Summative Assessment
Initial assessment is said to the process for recognising learning of individual and
supporting needs that shows design of learning plan that gives structure for students learning.
Diagnostic assessment is defined to set of written questions which assess current knowledge base
as well as views of learner for particular topic that is to be studied in course. Formative
assessment refers to variety of methods which teachers uses for conducting in-process judgement
of learners comprehensive, academic progress along with learning needs during a unit or course.
Summative assessment are tests or assignment that are conducted for evaluating learning,
academic achievement, acquisition of skills etc at conclusion of defined period. The ESOL
teacher of Tottenham English Center uses all the mentioned assessments.
TASK C Portfolio of Teaching Evidence
a) Initial assessment
It is useful undertaking the effective help in order to identify the core capacities
considering the potential candidates undertaking the personality assessments and interviews.
Along with this, the suitable knowledge is considered as the knowledge and also responsible

b) Diagnostic assessment
The aim of this assessment is to identify the core competencies for the individuals and also point
out the suitable improvements that are required. For this, prior diagnosis is useful for the
instructors and learners as well undertaking various area. Moreover, learners also need to
perform effectively instead of putting their resources and undertake the mental exertion for the
instructor itself which is capable to offer effective chance regarding the guidance of learners.
c) Formative assessment
This assessment is useful in order to conduct and develop the personality traits for the
individuals and also consider the task through feedback mechanism. As per this, assessment is
useful in order to enhance the personality factors, skills and traits of specific job role which is
useful in order to achieve success criteria in performing specific job role.
d) Summative assessment
It is considered as the last stage of assessment and taken into consideration for the
examination of learners undertaking the deadlines and other coursework for the controlled
condition and also put their knowledge into their practice. For this, the overall response depicts
the conversion of work and undertake the assignments. For this, the overall response is quite low
which imply that they must use technical issues with the role of learner.
e) Need for learner involvement in order to give feedback
The learner's feedback is regarding the involvement of immense significance as it allows
the instructor to help the scholars with the area regarding the interest and focus for their learning.
Moreover, it reflects and demonstrate the planning and development thing for ESOL instructor
and prominently report to the compels teacher pupil engagement. It also reflects the suitable
planning and overall development regarding the mechanisms for given suitable instructions to
other individuals.

f) Need of Heath and Safety in learning environment as well as ways to maintain heath and
safety
Tottenham English Center have learning environment in which heath and safety plays
crucial role. Health and safety within learning environment is needed so that students feel safe
while attending classes. Moreover, safe and healthy learning environment assist ESOL teachers
to focus towards academic achievements of students, fostering relations with other professional
bodies and students, encouraging parental involvement and maintaining higher standards in
learning (Evans and Schenarts, 2016).
In Tottenham English Center, ESOL teachers have maintained safety and health through
making proper emphasis towards each students and ensuring to avoid accidents, setting
boundaries by creating rules, providing time to time training to students.
g) Developing using and organising resources
In terms of describing it two significant examples are used in order to avoid stereotype
and behavioural pattern for this, instructor see people to bullying others on the grounds of
cultural identity and must intervene in order to stop suitable objections. Moreover, the instructor
also see the existence of ill attitudes within the class and also arranges considering the
significance of different culture and attributes of various regions.
h) Two examples of ways to meet equality and diversity
The two examples in which ESOL teachers of Tottenham English Center have met
equality and diversity are as follows:
Example 1: Setting clear rules: In Tottenham English Center, equality and diversity are
met by ESOl teachers through setting clear rules in which students from different background or
culture are given admission and are treated fairly. The education organisation have large number
students that belongs to different cultures and are given equal opportunities to enhance learning
(Hodge, 2016).
Example 2: Avoiding stereotype: In education, stereotype refers to over-generalised
belief for specific category of people. In Tottenham English Center, by avoiding stereotypes that
is the beliefs of students for particular kind of person is avoided and they were motivated to learn
about their cultures and how they engage in learning resulted in meeting equality addition to
diversity.

i) Ways for adopting resources to meet differentiation
Resources are said to the things which are used in business for specific purpose. In case
with Tottenham English Center, various resources are adopted by the ESOL Teacher for meeting
differentiation. Some of ways through which the teacher have adopted resources for meeting
differentiation are approaches of learning and use of technology. Organisational teacher have
effectively used technology to differentiate itself in Education sector. Moreover, various
approaches of learning are also used that are completely different from other institutions (Lee,
2019).
j) Other professional with whom ESOL teacher liaises
In education institution, multiple professional bodies work so that learner gains effective
knowledge and skills for their coursework. In Tottenham English Center, ESOL teacher majorly
liaise with personal tutor, receptionist and human resource management of company. Personal
tutor are the academic member in school who takes active interest in academic progress of
student along with university experience. At same time, ESOL teacher liaises with receptionist
for sharing information about students and providing information on multiple topics that are
related to course work.
k) Ways to involve learners in
Initial/ Peer assessments
In Tottenham English Center, in order to involve learners in initial/peer assessment,
ESOL teachers have used various methodologies. By using Edulastic, teacher engages learns in
creative manner via introductory activities addition to tech enhances quizzes.
Self assessment
In self assessment, ESOL teachers involves learners through reflection activities in which
students enjoys three way conferences, target setting, analysing personal strengths, weaknesses,

work have relevance at assessment time. S is sufficient that says learning covers all criteria of
assessment. R is reliable that means work is consistent across all studies and at required level.
Meeting internal requirement
IV/QA: It stands for internal verification/ quality assurance. It is the work done internal
in which third party verifies learners graded coursework is completed with appropriate standards
with high accuracy and consistency in first marker's grading (Mirza and Athreya, 2018). In
Tottenham English Center, learners are involved to meet internal requirements so that proper
report is generated about students progress.
EC/QA: It stands for external verification/ quality assurance whereby external verifier
who is outsider for learner makes assessment for supporting meaningful learning. In the
education institution, learners are involved for meeting external requirements so to improve their
other areas which are necessary for career.
l) Understanding for Different questioning technique and constructive feedbacks
To become a part of effective management feedback is required for the development of
overall learning considering various values. In terms of this, professionals need to focus on the
significant sides like think about the purpose for giving feedback, focus on the observation
instead of inference (Pangrazi and Beighle, 2019). Moreover, they also need to focus on the
behaviour of an individual instead of person and also provide significant balance towards the
positive and negative feedback.
m) Discussion on Tracking system
It is the system that leads to track and separate students on the grounds of academic
ability into various groups for all the subjects. Moreover, within the tracking system, the overall
population of school is assigned under the class as per the achievement of students. Tracking and
its suitable changes between the prevailing organising practices also accepted as the feature of
school of country nearly a century.
n) Explanation of having communication with other professionals
It is important to have effective communication skill as it leads to increase the efficiency
and productivity among people (Tarkhanova and Koryakovtseva, 2018). As effective
communication plays an important role regarding their overall success at the workplace and

personal life. For this, it is important to have effective communication as it leads to include
effective listening and offer the ability regarding the empathy, open mindedness and useful
feedback on grounds of hearing.
o) Explaining ways in which minimum core skills are applied
There are various ways in order to increase the minimum core skills and these skills are
embedded in the qualifications in teaching as it leads to demonstrate proficiency and also support
the learner. Along with this, it include various skills with it like literacy, language, numeracy and
ICT considering the video conferencing, digital devices, interpretations, speaking and listening.
TASK D Personal Analysis
a) Write about the current doing and improvement which is required
In relation with this, the current doing is all about the English professor who perform
significant functions like training and guiding employees in order to increase their overall
performance and efficiency which is capable enough for the overall development of students.
Despite from this, I as a professor, firstly take training to develop my own skills and then guide
students regarding their improvement (Van Merriënboer and Kirschner, 2017).
b) Explain the understanding about the communication theory and use of electronic media
Media is considered as the communication outlet which is used in many stores in order to
deliver information regarding the data. For this, mass media is considered as the communication
industry like print, media, news media, cinema, broadcasting, advertising and so on. For the
better communication, Email is considered as the best electronic tool for written and for oral
video conferencing is best.
c) Discuss about how to prepare resources and assess learning
In order to assess learning and prepare suitable resources, it is important for the students
to assess teaching and learning within the higher education. Despite from this, it is critical
regarding the prominent aspect of teaching and learning process (Xu and Brown, 2016).
d) Explain how you can reduce core skills and being applied in planning and delivery of sessions
In order to reduce irrelevant core skills, it is important to adopt significant training and
development by developing effective training skills by evaluating the audience, develop training
goals, arrange suitable information in chronological manner, address significant learning styles

and select appropriate media in order to present as an individual or professional (Yan, Pan and
Wang, 2018).
TASK E Evaluation
SWOT Analysis
The personal identification represents at the specific point regarding the availability of
suitable resources in an organisation and also identify the presence for the information regarding
the strength which becomes the strength both the instructor and learners. In terms of this, the
effective weakness include inability in order to recognise the inability for the core competencies.
Along with this, the opportunities include capturing and evolving requirements for the potential
individuals and candidates as per the analysis. Away with this, these opportunities can be
undertaken as the threat for the competitors in order to eliminate the pre-anticipation of
significant problems.
CONCLUSION
The mentioned report concludes that a teacher plays key role in providing education and
training to students. Supporting non English speakers, making guardian aware for students
progress and preparing course material are some of role and responsibilities of teacher at
workplace. Receptionist, personal tutor etc are some professionals with whom teacher liaise on
daily basis. Adopting important training and development, arranging suitable information,
address significant learning styles helps in planning and delivery of sessions.
