This project examines the role of knowledge management in the sustainable growth of organizations. It analyzes the challenges faced in implementing sustainable development goals and explores strategies for managing growth. The report also highlights relevant SDGs and their application in the workplace.

ABSTRACT
This project intend to study the role that knowledge management has development of
sustainable organization growth. The research propose to examine the key factors in the use of
knowledge management as well as sustainable development of company in effective manner.
This has analysis the major challenges which has faced by company top manage sustainable
development and implementation of sustainable development goals facing the company as well
as SDG which has currently used by company in their planning and reporting. This explores the
proper study of approaches and most SDG for company to manage growth and why. This has
very important for making proper suggestion for more growth of company. This report has
highlighted the relevant SDGs which can be adopted by the organization and the strategy to do
the same on basis of operation and current situation in which organization is operating. In the
end the report has highlighted the SDGs work integrated learning placement application with the
help of the different knowledge regarding Sustainability.

INTRODUCTION
The Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a
"blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. Levi Strauss &Co is the
American clothing company which was founded in the year 1853 by the founder Levi Strauss.
Headquarter of company is situated in San Francisco. This report highlights the different
challenges which is faced at the time of implementing the sustainable goal. After that the report
highlights the three relevant SDGs which is relevant to Levi Strauss. Report than goes on to
highlights the different strategy which can be adopted by the company at the time of
implementing SDGs. In the end the report highlights the SDGs work integrated learning
placement application.

Different challenges which is faced at the time of implementing SDGs
Current Focus SDGs
Levi Strauss used to focus on three sustainable goals in the current situation. Three situational
goal which are focused by Levi Strauss are as follows:
First focus of the company is the Good health and well-being, as first goal of the
company is to reduce the amount of the diseases like Aids, tuberculosis, malaria and diseases
which is born due to the water and other communication diseases by the end of the year 2030.
Out of all of that HIV/AIDS is the diseases which is more focused by the company, as company
has already contributed $70 million to overcome the same issue in more than 40 countries (Islam
and Shamsuddoha, 2018).
Another focused toward the sustainability of the organization is toward clean water and
sanitation. Company will try to increase that the water is used efficiently across all the sector and
there is good supply of the freshwater in the nation to address the different issue which is faced
such as water scarcity. To educate all the industry about the same the organization has started the
change by their own as they have introduced technique called Water<less, which used to save 96
percent of the water in finishing the touch. This has helped the company in saving 1 billion litter
water.
Decent work and economic growth is the another sustainable focus which is done by Levi
Strauss, as company is looking to protect the labour rights and promote safe secure environment
for all the worker, including migrant worker, also specially women migrant. As a result Levi

Strauss has created first comprehensive workplace in the workplace which was named as a term
of engagement which used to highlights labor, health and safety and environment requirement
(Gustafsson and Ivner, 2018).
Factors are driving company to manage sustainable development.
There are various factors which are driving to the Levi Strauss to manage their higher
sustainability development for more goals and effectiveness. The four factors are drive such as
human, social, economic and environmental. Those are help to manage proper sustainability and
its development more effectively. Human is important part of company who gives hard contribution to achieve goals and
objectives of company in effective manner (Rauter, Jonker and Baumgartner, 2017).
Training and developed staff fully able to manage sustainable development of company.
They used various technology for giving positive results. Reducing and manage waste is also the best factors which is help to manage sustainable
development for business in effective manner. With the help of this company is able to
protect their environment.
 Ethical behaviour with customer is also effective and valuable for management in
respective manner. This is to create higher customers base who are more loyal for
company. Ethical behaviour is help to maintain sustainable development more effectively
within the company in effective manner (Marco‐Fondevila, Moneva Abadía and
Scarpellini, 2018).
Those are the factors which are help to maintain proper and more effectiveness in order to
manage sustainable development of company Levi Strauss who is the manufacture company of
blue jeans. The manufacture companies have various waste which have to manage and
maintained by company for more effective sustainable development.
SDGs currently being used by company in planning and reporting.
Sustainability development goals investigation in the business are more important which
is give impact investment with the aim of to generate both financial and social or environmental
return. This creates more effectiveness for business to maintain higher growth at market place.
The company is described all the policies and practices which are related to supporting woman
empowerment and advancing gender equality in the community. This help to design community
stakeholder engagement which are free gender discrimination and more sensitive to gender

issues (Busco, Granà and Izzo, 2018). The company is currently used the gender equality and
empower all the woman and girls for working in effective manner in the planning and reporting.
On the another side, also used and take urgent actions to combat climate changes and its
impact which is help to take better decision for protecting that in effective manner with making
proper responsibility. With the help of this sustainability is covered and use the oceans resources
for sustainable development in more effective manner planning and reporting. Those are the
effective and valuable resources for managing higher responsibility. Those company Levi
Strauss are used currently.
Last is protect stores and promote sustainable use is ecosystem, sustainably manage
forecast, combat diversification and reverse land degradation and losses. This also currently used
by company in their planning and reporting system (Fleming and et.al., 2017). This help to make
higher growth of company in effective manner by using more effectiveness. Those are the most
effective and valuable sustainable development goals for company which are currently used by
company Levi Strauss in their planning and reporting process. Those are very effective and
valuable for company and its higher growth factor.
Relevant SDGs
Looking at the relevancy of the SDGs for Levi Strauss it can be said that organization can
adopt any of the goal from the 17 SDGs goal. As Levi Strauss has a good financial resource as
interest toward improving and adopting the sustainability goal in the organization. Some relevant
SDGs goal which for Levi Strauss is as follows:
Good health and well-being: This sustainability goal can be adopted by Levi Strauss,
the reason behind choosing this sustainability goal is that health and well-being issue are one of
the biggest growing issue in the whole world. Levi Strauss in current situation also focusing on
the same Goal but at current situation company is focusing on the communicable diseases which
is increasing at rapid rate in current scenario and organization has contributed a good amount of
the financial resources also toward the same so that the issue of health and well-being at the
global level can be improved (Fuldauer and Hall, 2019). Levi Strauss now in the future has to
look at the non-communicable diseases as well, the reason behind the same is that in the report it
has been find out that in the recent past 70 percent of the death used to occur due to the non-
communicable diseases. So it is very important for all the business to have a good contribution
toward the non communication disease as well. It is very relevant for Levi Strauss to adopt the

same strategy because organization used to operate at the global level it will eventually help the
company in touching the wider consumer in the market as compare to the other company who
used to operate in just a domestic market.
Clean water and sanitation: It is the another sustainability goal which can be used by
the organization, the reason behind the same it will provide the good hand of support for the first
sustainable goal which has been selected by the organization. As water used to create the variety
of the diseases at the global level. Organization used to focus on the same goal in the current
scenario as well in which they used to educate the consumer and the other organization regarding
the importance of clean and freshwater in the nation. It is very relevant for the organization as in
the report it has been find out that the retail industry is one industry which used to use the highest
amount of the water in carrying out the operation of the business. Fashion industry in specific is
the industry in retail industry which used to consume good amount of the water to carry out their
operation in the retail industry (Carolo and et.al., 2018). As Levi Strauss is one of the well now
organization of the fashion industry and many company used to follow the different strategy
which is adopted by the Levi Strauss. So organization can be worked as a trend setter in the
industry. Organization in the past has also adopter the technique to reduce the amount of water
usage in the process of finishing the denim product of the organization. It has helped the
company in saving the billions' litre of water. As a result many organizations has adopted the
same in their operation as well. Organization can easily do the same in the past as well.
Decent growth and Economic growth: It is the another sustainability growth strategy
which can be adopted by the organization as it is very relevant for the organization in their
performance as well. As organization used to dealt at the global level and used to employee the
good amount of human resources in their organization. So it very important for the organization
to maintain the good working environment in the organization, so that it used to contribute very
positively toward the economic growth. As unemployment in the nation used to impact the
economic in the negative way (Gonzales, 2017). If organization is able to maintain the good
working environment with the help of the different labor policy in the organization, they will
eventually help the company in building good Human resource power in the organization. At the
same time it will also help the company to contribute positively toward the economy of nation as
well. In the recent past it has been also identified that, Levi Strauss has seen some sort of the
issue with the management and maintaining human man power in the organization. So this

sustainable goal is very relevant for the organization to be adopted to improve the working
culture as well as help the economy in investing their human power in better way. To improve
the same organization can introduce new labour policy and remuneration policy in the
organization. Also, they have to take the strict action regarding the unlawful activity which will
be prevailing at the workplace.
Different strategy regarding implementation of SDGs
There are many types of strategy which are their in front of Levi Strauss which can be used by
the organization to sustain the 3 SDGs which is relevant for the organization in their working.
Some strategies are as follows:
Good health and well-being: To contribute toward the well-being of the consumer at the
global level, there are many strategies such as providing resources to medical provider or
recommending better precautions in the environment or educating the consumer. Educating the
consumer will be best out of the all, in which organization has to make sure that the tie up with
one or more medical institute in the nation and used to gather the different information regarding
the consumer which will be targeted by the company (Rodriguez, Ürge-Vorsatz and Barau,
2018). The targeted customer will be the consumer who is suffering from the different non-
communicable disease. On the basis of the same the organization will be organizing the different
campaign in the nation which will provide the knowledge about the different precaution and the
way through which consumer can overcome the difficulties which is faced by them. This will
help the organization in promoting good awareness of the different issue which is faced by the
consumer and how they can overcome the same. Organization will also try to provide the
financial help to the consumer who is not having that sound financial stability. This strategy will
be measure by setting up the target of the customer which has to be touched by the organization
in fixed period and then measuring the same with the original performance of the strategy. On
the basis of the result future strategy will be planned by the company.
Clean water and sanitation: To contribute toward the sustainability of clean water and
sanitation in the nation, there are many strategies which are available in front of Levi Strauss.
Educating consumer and leading by example are two strategy which is used by the organization
in current scenario (Vasconcellos Oliveira, 2018). To contribute the same organization has to
develop the structure in the nation, where there is low amount of the clean water available for the
consumer to consume. The targeted market for this strategy is the rural area throughout at the

global level. As organization used to operate in many of the development nation through the
world, countries like India, China are targeted by Levi Strauss with the help of this strategy. In
this strategy the company will be developing dams, ring bunds, ponds and maintenance activity
like de silting of existing structure. This activity will help the nation in getting better availability
of the fresh water for the different sector of the consumer in the selected area. At the same time
organization will also be investing the good amount of the financial resources to maintain the
good quality of water in the nation (Guandalini, Sun and Zhou, 2019). This will eventually help
the economy in offering clean water to the consumer in the market. To check the viability of the
strategy, company will be checking the report of valuable source about the availability of the
sustainable water in the nation by comparing the result with the previous result.
Decent growth and Economic growth: To improve the working environment in the
nation and maintaining the good level of the employment in the organization. The organization
will be adopting the technique of innovative way of communication in the organization. In this
strategy the company will try to organize more formal meeting in the organization. In which all
the employee in the organization will be invited and will be asked to keep the different opinion
which is possessed by them. On the basis of the different opinion which is passed on by the
employee in the organization different decision will be taken in the organization to safeguard the
different opinion of the employee in the organization (Zamora-Polo and Sánchez-Martín, 2019).
Also, organization will be providing with the different reporting place to the employee in the
organization where they can report the different unlawful activity which is faced by them in
organization. This will help the business in passing on the positive message to the employee in
the organization and will help them in retaining the employee for longer period and will provide
the nation with the way to invest their human resources.

CONCLUSION
The report has summarized that the organization in current scenario used to contribute
into three sustainable goal. In implementing the same the organization has to face the variety of
issue. After that report summarized that this SDGS are relevant for the organization but the
organization has to bring some sort of changes in their contribution as organization in current
scenario used to look at communicable disease. In the future, they have to look at the
communicable disease as well. Report also summarized the different strategy which can be used
by the organization to implement the different SDGs in nation.
