INTRODUCTION
A project can be said to be a temporary task which has a fixed beginning and an end it is
usually used to create a unique product or services as a result. This can be said to be activities
that cannot go on indefinitely and which have a defined purpose. Project is activity performed in
order to meet a unique criterion for a product or services and therefore the routine activities
cannot fulfil this purpose of projects (Koolwijk and et. al., 2018). Project management means the
practice in which initiation, planning, executing, controlling as well as closing of the work of a
team is done in order to achieve a specific criterion in a specific time period. The basic challenge
of a project management is to complete all the goals within the given constraints. The basic
constraints in a project can be time, quality, scope as well as budget. Project delivery consist of
many firms of procurement methods from designed to build to construction management address
or construction manager, general contractor and this also includes projects which are financed by
agencies who do this privately. In the following report discussions are made on understanding
the aspects of project delivery as well as the ability to exploit aspects of the project delivery
whenever required.

Important aspects of project delivery
Project delivery is an important aspect for every completed project. There are a number of
things which are required to be taken care of while project delivery. It is the duty of a responsible
manager to make sure that project delivery is done effectively and efficiently. The best managers
also provide company with competitive advantage of project delivery which is nearly impossible
to replicate. Although it is critical to day to day management, often there is limited time, it is
important to achieve it each day still project delivery is given lowest priority. Below mentioned
are five most important elements that leading organisations must believe as the most important
aspect in a successful project delivery plan.
Project Plan:
It is important for a well written project plan to make sure that it mentions the timeline,
budget goals, resources required, materials and people required and assignment of project
responsibilities. Project plan is the foundation of project (Raouf and Al-Ghamdi, 2019). It is
important for a project delivery plan to include the performance measures for schedule, scope,

cost and also variances handling. It is important for a plan to consider the variances which might
occur throughout the project. A plan is also required to have detail about how those variances
would be handled as they come. It is important to make sure that integral communication in
organisation is done efficiently. Project plan is an important tool which helps managers as well
as the end users to learn the purpose, duration as well as sequencing of the project. It is also
important to identify skill sets among all the workers and their potentials in order to delegate the
work. Many a times employees are also trained in order to help them with the project.
Preparing a project plan puts a manager in dilemma on how much detail to include in the
plan. It is important that all the details given in the plan makes the task clear, are manageable and
easy to understand. However, it may take a lot of time to create such a detailed plan. It is
important to weigh the parts of risk which include most risk. There are many areas in which risk
refers to delay in time, increased cost, project derailment etc.
Statement of work:
There is a formal document which is created after creating a plan for project this formal
document is usually described as statement of work. This act has a working agreement for all
those who are involved in completion of this project (Zhang, Cao and Wang, 2018). It may
include team members, the partners of project delivery or both. Scope of document is contained
in this project and it usually includes:
 Project objectives are contained in statement of work. It includes all the goals set up by
managers in the beginning of the project which are to be fulfilled by the projects.
 All the task included in the projects, dependencies on people for this task as well as the
priority is to be taken care of while conducting this project will also be mentioned in
statement of work.
 Statement of work also includes all the required skills in employs in order to do this
project. Along with this description of all the responsibilities and required skills in an
employee or are mentioned in detail.
 The budget for the project is mentioned in detail in statement of work. It includes all the
cost required for the project as well as a detail of payments which would require to be
made.

 Another important mention in statement of work is of the deliverable from the project. It
means that the expected outcome of the project for example goods or services for which
the project is undertaken is mentioned in the statement of her.
 The statement of work also consists of a due date which is the date on which the project
must be completed and delivered. Along with the due dates it considers some terms
which are needed to be followed throughout the completion of project.
 Major resources which are required in order to complete this project which includes
needs, parts or any equipment’s for the project are also to be mentioned in statement of
work.
 At the end of project mention of the authorities of the particular project is also given. It
includes the persons who are responsible for project as well as various tasks of project.
Statement of work is a very important tool which helps in deriving the success of a
project once all the contractors and authorities related to project agree on statement of work
there are very less chances of mistakes or errors in the project then.
Selecting team for project:
It is very important for management to choose the most appropriate team who will
complete the project for them (Zhang, Huang and Peng, 2018). It is important that they can
complete the project on time and in budget. Below mentioned that a number of factors which
must be considered by management of an organisation before selecting a team for the project:
Competency: It is important for a manager to look into the factor that all the team members have
the required skills and knowledge which must help them to complete this project. They need to
have all the experience for the required task they have in the given project. Experience can be
sometimes the most undervalued aspect but it is very important in project.
Time: It is necessary to consider the time before selecting the team the time in which the project
needs to be completed must be realistic. Too much should not be expected of the team members.
The time which is given to them in order to complete the project must be considerable.
Assignment of duties to team members can also be done on day to day basis so that they stay
focused on a particular task in a single time.
Outsourcing: The process of outsourcing in order to complete the project is more of a neglected
at organisations as it is compare to be the most expensive and subsequently a significant barrier
to overcome. The major concern is to exactly estimate the opportunity cost of outsourcing. It

means that the company must calculate both the cost which the project is costing to company as
well as the cost company might require to pay to another company while outsourcing the project.
However, it is important for an organisation to know that when they complete their project
themselves it adds to their efficiencies and also allow the organisation to grow. Below mentioned
are some of considerations which will help a business organisation to decide on whether to
outsource or not (Kosonen and Kim, 2018).
1. It is important for organizations to have a project management office or a project manager.
Project management often requires a discipline and experienced project manager. If the
project manager is not trained and experienced the project plan would not be developed
correctly which will lead to bad quality of project. It is important to build a project
management office or a project management software for the project manager of a company.
2. Is important for companies to consider the cost which will be required to train their employs
in order to complete the project. Along with cost the time taken to complete the train the
employees would also be necessary. Along with this one cannot undervalue the need for
experience in employs.
The value of time which will be required by team members to complete this project is also
necessary. It is important to understand how much work will each team member do and how
much time is dedicated by each of them it is often seen that the cost of such a project which takes
a long time and has a small team can be much more than the cost of outsourcing the work to a
few dedicated members (Park and Gransberg, 2018).
Outsourcing is often seen to be helpful in avoiding all the non-bailable bench time. It
means that company does not need to pay for the unproductive time when staff or the employees
are busy in filling gaps or doing training.
Alleging service level agreements:
A service level agreement is a contractual agreement which specify all the set of service
and the cost associated to the service. It is very important aspect of any project delivery as the
company needs to focus on what amount of time and what amount of efforts will be provided by
them in the completion of this project.
If a project is managed inside an organisation it is very important to take responsibility in
order to track, report and correct all the service level agreements which are not on the track or
are of track. Any employee working in the project management office or with the project

manager or with the professional service organisation it is required by them to track their work
and also reported at specified intervals in order to gain specified increments. Communication for
service level agreement is an important aspect (Morvai, 2018) .
Problem-solving:
It is important for a project manager to choose for the team members who are good in
solving any problems and skilled enough. Managers need to delegate the work and
responsibilities in which they give employees the power to solve the low risk issues on the Roll.
Managers believe that they do not need to get into every small problems and employees are self-
sufficient to solve some of them.
It is important for Manager to set a level of expectation in which a description of
problems which needs to be directly solved by employs must be mentioned. This will help the
employs to know for which problem they need to go to higher authorities and which problems
are to be solved by them on their own.
Communication is the major factor in cloud troubleshooting. It is important to choose all
the employs who know how to communicate and what to communicate. Communicating
everything to managers is also not necessary and it is required by an employee to know which
information is to be communicated to higher authorities.
There is another aspect in project delivery which includes the expectation from team. It
must not be specifically mentioned anywhere no one must have thought about it much earlier.
But it is very important that whatever a manager desires from his team needs to show in his
demeanor and communication style. It is important that the clearest ideas and views about the
project are given to all the team members by the manager. It is important to play a role in which
all the important and small details are explained specifically. The more a manager is efficient it
will be more in his capability to identify the problems even before they arise and solve them
before they become too big. Problems in a project cannot be avoided, there have to be one or
another problem in every project. It is important for managers to prepare their team and empower
them to solve all these problems while actively communicating with Manager as well as rest of
the team.
From the above description it can be concluded that it is very complex in order to
understand all the aspects of project delivery. All the factors which are described above needs a

lot of time, efforts as well as cost in order to make a project delivery successful. This may lead to
success of firms as well as achievement of all the goals.
TASK 2
Ability to exploit the aspects of project delivery
Exploiting is majorly associated with an aim of risk response strategy. An opportunity this
can be said to be an uncertainty which occurs in order to have a positive effect on achievement of
the objectives of project. It is the duty of managers then to make sure that the achievement of
project objectives surely happen in a positive manner (Aleithawe, 2019).In this the threat of risk
and probability of occurrence is zero and it is easy to exploit the strategies for opportunities in
order to raise the probability to 100% in both of these cases uncertainty can be removed. The
avoidance of threat and exploitation of opportunities can be done directly as well as indirectly.
Indirect responses it includes all the positive decisions to include opportunity in the project scope
and considering the opportunity whether or not is available by project. The indirect exploitation
responses in walls solving the problems and continuing with the project in a different way in
order to allow all the opportunities to be met by still meeting the project objectives example can
be changing of methodology or technology. Here the threat is usually avoided in order to make
sure it does not have any effect on the project exploitation basically stands in the way of
opportunity and make sure that no opportunity is missed.
Opportunities can be basically said to be a set of circumstances which make it possible for
people to do something. Exploitation of opportunity means that a person is making sure that the
opportunity available to them will be realized. The strategy to seeks eliminate the uncertainty by
making sure that the opportunity definitely takes place is said expectation of opportunity. On the
other hand, enhancement of an opportunity means increasing the probability or increasing the
impact of an opportunity. In order to make sure that all the opportunities are exploited or
enhance by managers there are following steps they need to follow. Below mentioned are all
those steps
 It is important for a manager to be clear about their objectives. When description about
project is given to all the members of the team and the members were included in project
it is important to make sure that they understand why the objectives are important for the
project (Imanghaliyeva, 2020).

 It is important to make sure that all the stakeholders are brought together. A meeting is to
be conducted in which all the stakeholders who are related to the project must be brought
together and must be brainstormed in order to list all the opportunities available with
them. It is important to call all the stakeholders such as employs, management,
government, customers, suppliers and son who may be directly or indirectly affected by
this project. Taking advices from all of this will help company as every one of them will
bring a different perspective or cording to their profits and benefits and project.
 It is necessary to capturing value it all the opportunities available. A list should be made
of all the opportunities which are on the criteria to be exploited. All these opportunities
should be listed from top to bottom on which the opportunities which have the highest
probability stays at the top and the opportunity which have the lowest probabilities will
stay at the bottom.
 It is important to identify the risks as well as opportunities which are included in this
opportunity. The risk and opportunity will be identified for the owners who are
responsible for developing and executing a response plan. This response plan will be first
conducted for the most significant opportunity available with the company.
 Solve this assessment is conducted by organisation they work on developing and
executing the response plan. Development of response plan is very necessary in every
exploitation of opportunity. It is important that employs understand other than the project
objectives and plans there can be a number of opportunities present in the market
(Sander, Spiegl and Reilly, 2019). Also, there are a number of threats present in the
market which can be converted into opportunities.
The last step will be realising whether the opportunity have been grabbed by the company or
not. In this way companies can exploit all the opportunities available with them while project
deliver.
CONCLUSION
The above report clearly states what is the project, what is project management and what is
project delivery. Project delivery is an important aspect in project management and there are a
number of aspects included in project delivery which may influence project adversely. These
aspects include project plan, statement of work, selecting team for a project, outsourcing and so
on. This project also has description on how can an organisation exploit these aspects of project

delivery it is said that an organisation needs to be well aware of all the opportunities which might
come to eat over time. Various steps are required to be taken by organisations in order to make
sure that all the threats can be converted into opportunities.
