INTRODUCTIONManaging projects is said to be a practice that consists with a range of elements likeinitiating, planning, executing, controlling, and lastly monitoring if the final goal is achieved ornot. Here, it can be said that the primal objective of a project manager is to attain specific goalsand objectives to attain goals of a particular project within specified constraints (Basu, 2017). Inpresent report, firm which has been chosen i.e. ABC PLC, who has a history of makingsuccessful mergers and acquisitions in support of its strategic growth objectives. Company hasdecided to do acquisition with DEF Ltd, which is a business organisation dealing or operating atmarket as a high street frozen food retailer. Report is going to be enclosed with a range of thingslike Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Gantt Chart and number of risks that a project carried inpresent time.TASK1) a. Key characteristics of any projectIn present time, a project carries ample number of characteristics and these are presentedunderneath:Project is basically developed for betterment of both company and of targeted customers.A project basically stays temporary in nature and it typically consists with both startalong with the end.Along side this, a project basically stays unique in nature as it carries a set ofrequirements that a project manager looks forward to fill across the boundaries of thisproject.Away with this, project can typically be more of a once off endeavour, rather thansomething that’s happening all the time in a repeated fashion.Including this, a project is not ‘business as usual’, which is more akin to a process(Castro-Nova, Gad and Gransberg, 2017).b. Purpose of the Project Initiation Document (PID)It is being found that, main purpose of PID is to ensure that a particular project consistswith a commitment of attaining a particular aim or an objective. Another purpose that came infront of Project Initiation Document (PID) i.e. to act as base document on a particular project, on

which Project Manager is working. With the help of this, all issues in regards to change caneasily be found out in specified time frame and through this maximum benefits can also beattained right on time (Crowley, Hinchliffe and McDonald, 2017).2) a. Scope Statement for a projectThis is being considered as one of a crucial section, within a project that helps a reader inunderstanding what research is all about just by reading the statement. Without a scopestatement, a project would not give any sort of benefits to both researcher and readers as well.b. Role does the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) have in such a statementThe primal most role of WBS carries in a statement is that, it aid more accurately alongwith specifically in organising the overall scope of a particular project (da Rocha, Kemmer andMeneses, 2016). The most common way this is done is by using a hierarchical tree structure.Work break down structure which is key part of project which organised the team workaccording to the management sections. It delivers hierarchical decomposition of work toexecuted project team. 3) Full project Gantt chart and identify the critical path. How many days does it take to completethe projectA work breakdown structure starts with a large project or objective and breaks it downinto smaller, more manageable pieces that project manager can reasonably evaluate and assign toteams (Dao and et. al., 2016).
