PROJECT MANAGEMENT
3. Implications of the changes made on the resources that are required for
project completion
The implications of the changes which are generally made on the resources are generally
needed for the completion of the project are generally elaborated below:
Changes in human resources: It is found that as Kelly is ill and therefore she will not be
able to engage within the relocation project and therefore her work will be managed by Jeff. Due
to the change in the resource, Jeff will be pressurized with more work and he can face difficulty
in managing the work of the project.
Changes in financial resources: It is found that due to the change in the schedule of the
project the budget of the project also increases. It is found that as Kelly is admitted in the
hospital therefore the expense for hospital is also added in the schedule of the project. In addition
to this, increase in the time of the project generally increases the budget of the project that further
creates financial pressure on the organization.
Changes in other type of resources: It is found that other types of materials are
generally required for repairing the truck which generally increases the budget of the project.
Thus, additional budget is generally needed for buying different types of resources that are
needed for repairing the truck so that the belongings of the family from Queensland to Perth.
4. Details of the adjustment made in the schedule and reason of making
adjustments
There are number of adjustments that are generally made within the schedule of the
project. It is found that as Australia is mainly hit by worst flu epidemic in years, Kelly become ill
and therefore they are unable to involve within the relocation project. Therefore, the relocation

will be delayed by 2 weeks and therefore the total time that is needed for relocation will be
scheduled by 2 weeks. Moreover, it is found that the truck that carries the belongings of Kelly
and Jeff has broken and therefore it is found that additional 3 days will be generally needed and
thus the arrival of the furniture’s will generally be delayed by 3 days. Thus, the total number of
days that is generally needed for completing the relocation project will generally increase due to
the extension in deadline of relocation due to poor health condition of Kelly. Moreover, it is
found that due to extension in the time of the project generally helps in enhancing the budget of
the project.
5. Personal reflection
While involving with the relocation project, I have got proper ideas as well as skills in
project management that not only helps me in managing the project successfully but will also be
helpful for guiding me in my future project. From this entire project, I have received proper
information about time management as well as importance of change management within the
project so that the changes within the project can be handled quite effectively. I have also
analyzed that proper management of project is necessary for making the entire project successful.
The project uses proper management strategy for completing the relocation project within the
expected time and budget so that the children’s can join their school on time. Variation is
considered as one of the important concept of project management which must be handled by the
project managers so that the uncertainties can be properly managed. The variations that occur
within the costs, activity durations as well as performance levels are mainly managed
successfully within the project. The skills as well as experience that I have received by
undertaking within this project is quite helpful in managing all the future projects that I have
undertaken.
