INTRODUCTION Notes making is an activity in which the important information is written in the notebook. In notes the individual write down all the information or data which he believes is important to him and can help him in recalling the whole lecture or related information with that. Notes making is an act, here the notes are made up in short form which does not consume much time for the reader in recalling all the associated information. This essay discusses about the importance and significance of notes making and its related significance into the academic life. TASK Notes taking are an activity in which the individual can write down the important information which enables him in remembering the whole related information to that. It helps the person in recalling all the information. Notes are made during the oral meetings or any virtual lecture. Note taking is written in short form in which the writer writes the information in short forms and in a way which can help him recalling all the information. There are various importances for note taking some of them are as follows: Note taking helps the writer in writing down all the significant information about the task. Taking notes help in writing down the information about the task, which may include what the task is all about, the steps which needs to take under account for performing the task and the factors which helps in ascertaining that the task goals has been achieved for not (Gillies, 2017). Note taking helps an individual in making the reference material in which he can go through at all of his notes for various purposes. Referencing can be in terms of revising of the information, taking additional information about the topic and etc which works as an additional help for a person. The note taking activity helps a person in getting in accordance with the schedule. Schedule is an activity in which a person makes the time table about the tasks which he wants to perform. The time table is made in such a way that it enables the person in achieving a person goal or objectives. Note taking enables an individual in ascertaining that whether his task is going as per the time table. Note taking make sure that the task are performed as per the decided time table. A note taking is also consists of stages and accordingly to that the individual prepare notes for them. The note taking consists of 3 stages which are as follows.First the person finds out the information which he wants to know about and the purpose for finding out the information (Iannone and Miller, 2019). For example if a manager wants to know about the methods for motivation because he know that these methods are useful in motivating his or her team for increasing productivity, he will find out for the information about the same. The topic for which the notes are suppose to make is methods for motivation and the purpose for this information is to use that method in motivating the employee for increase in their productivity. Then in During stage the person takes the notes of the information during the lecture which he believes is
important for him. As in the above example the person would take notes about the methods for motivating the employees, in this the major information would be notes down by the person in bullets or in short sentences. At last comes after stage, in which the person reviews the information or notes which he has written. In the review process he analyzes and evaluates the notes which he has written. As in the case with above presented example the employee motivation method are written and the writer will analyze the methods and evaluated which method he can use for attaining his goal or objectives. There are various significant methods for note taking. Some of them are; Outlined method, in this method is considered as one of the easiest method for taking the notes. It is used for simplicity. The writer while using this method for note making has to select around 5 to 6 points which would go to get covered into the topic (Siegel, 2016). Under the points which are selected by the writer a more in depth information about the points gets written. For example the writer is taking the lecture of motivation and its methods; in such topics this method for note taking can be helpful. This method is very much useful where the topic and the sub topics are interrelated with each other. This also enables the person in organizing the notes in a smart and proper manner. This method cannot be used when making the notes which information is very much complex and deep. Other method is Cornell method.This method was invented by Cornell University in the3 year 1950. This method is very much similar with outline method but is very useful in taking the in depth information or knowledge in an organized form. In this method the notes are divided into 3 columns in which one is consists of “cue” which will be a narrow column, second will be the wider column in which the actual notes will go to insert and the third bottom column would be of summary in which the summary for the topic will get included (Tanamatayarat and et al., 2017). This method is used when the writer has to include more organized and deeper information about the topic. It also enables in making the notes more in organized form.This method is very much time consuming process. Another method includes Mind mapping method.In this method the topics includes are inter related with one another. It is majorly used in the field of study like history, chemistry, philosophy and the like (Thorley, Baxter, and Lorek, 2016). This method provides a visual aid about the topic and enables a person to go in depth about the topic. This method is very useful in making the topic understandable which required visual understanding. This method is also very useful when the topics are inter related with one another. This method only can be used in the subject where the topics are inter related with one another. Flow notes methods is yet another method. This is the method which is used for increase the active learning and reduces the burden for reviewing. In this method the writer take the notes in a flow while understanding the information from the source. He takes the notes when he encounters with an information and believes that it needs to get noted. This method is very useful in active learning (Witherby and Tauber, 2019). It also helps the student in saving the time. The major disadvantage for this method is that the notes would get formed in an unorganized method.

CONCLUSION This essay has discussed about the importance and significance of note making, some of them include quality of task, reference material, scheduling and so on. There are 3 stages for note taking which are before, during and after. Apart from this there are various methods for note taking also, some of them include flow notes methods, mind mapping method, Cornell method, outlined method and so on.
