PROJECT KNOWLEDGE AREAS
Project Management Institute divided the large field of project management into ten different
parts which are known as ten knowledge areas of the project management.
 Project Integration Management:
 Project Scope Management
 Project Time Management
 Project Cost Management
 Project Quality Management
 Project Human resource management
 Project Communication Management:
 Project Risk Management
 Project Procurement management
 Project stakeholder management

PROJECT PROCES GROUP
Project management knowledge areas coincide with the process groups which are
 project initiation,
 project plan,
 project execution,
 controlling and monitoring and
 project closing.
Generally, every project management process is belonging to this five process groups.

RELATION MATRIX
 The knowledge areas are considered as
evolving standard which are updated
periodically in the PMBOK. There is as
strong matrix structure which comprises
both the process groups and the
knowledge areas. The knowledge areas
are designed to assist the projects
achieve an efficient result.
 Every process groups and knowledge
areas follows some certain discipline
and performed accordingly (Larson &
Gray, 2015). The relation between
process groups and knowledge areas
can be define as horizontal and vertical
line where the knowledge areas are the
core technical subject matter and
essential for effective management.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN
 Before starting any certain project, the quality management plan is constructed in
order to define the acceptable level of quality. The acceptance level is generally set by
the customers. The plan also describes the work process to ensure the level of
required quality.

 The project quality management plan
also defines certain training and
protocols for the project team which is
necessary in order to complete the
project successfully. Generally, a skill
gap analysis is required to identify the
trainings at the project initiation phase

 Different of the project has different
requirements and deliverables. Some
projects consist of crucial scope which
are very hard to achieve. The quality
management plan also documented
certain training process which can used
to familiarize the project team members
about the project standards and
protocols.

 The plan of quality management is also
used for the development of an
effective plan and process. This would
also include the assurance of quality
and the various procedures of the
control of quality. It also consider
various kinds of hazard factors and risks
and also the complexity of the project.
This would be meant for adapting the

requisition of the quality level.

 The plan of quality management
monitors specific project products in
order to determine if they meet
performance measurement thresholds
defined in the quality management
plan. Organizations who are seriously
about their future growth rather than
profit, takes the plan of quality
management seriously.

Quality management plan
The activities based on quality management ensure that the work process are performed
efficiently while following the plan of quality management. The project quality management
plans also apply on the project work process and project deliverables. Quality control is very
useful factor which cannot be avoided in order to provide the quality end results.
