PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Introduction
The paper mainly focuses on “Repair-Made-Easy” which presently utilizes manual excel
spreadsheet for selling various spare parts and for giving better customer service. Undoubtedly, it
is analyzed that the organization experiences a lot of problems that are mainly linked with the
present manual system which is mainly supported by the spreadsheet. For handling the issues,
the higher authority of the organization recruited one software consultant so that the person can
be able to design as well as develop a new and effective information system. The main goal of
the organization is to replace the current manual system by implementing a new information
system for managing the operations. The project objectives mainly include:
To implement a new information system for replacing the use of spreadsheet
To make the system available to various stores by using internet
To keep the information and data updated on the centralized database.
Task 1: Approaches to system development
It is identified that the organization “Repair-Made-Easy” utilizes manual system and as a
result the organization experiences a lot of challenges due to which they want to implement an
information system. With the design and development of a new information system, the
organization will be able to manage its operations and can be able to keep update of all the work
on the centralized database (Maheshwaran et al. 2017). The information that were kept secured
on the centralized database includes information about the suppliers, customers as well as
business. For designing and developing the information system, the organization utilizes Joint
application Development (JAD) that generally ask for the involvement of the client as well as
end user for successfully designing and developing the application successfully.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The main reason behind the selection of joint application is that by utilizing this
particular approach, the IS can be delivered on time and it further helps in analyzing the
requirements effectively. In addition to this, it helps in providing better understanding about the
objectives of the project and generally assists in improving the quality of the project quite
effectively (Nupap et al. 2016). The approach of brining all the different decision makers as well
as customers into proper discussion for sharing various types of opinions which further helps in
determining as well as resolving the errors early within the development phase of the project.
This helps in maintaining the quality of the project and further assists in meeting the objectives
of the clients (Aziz et al. 2017). Furthermore, it is analyzed that the accelerated analysis of
various requirements as well as speedy and efficient delivery generally helps in saving the cost
of the organization quite efficiently. Due to close communication with the clients, the progress of
the project is faster and it further helps in encouraging the entire team to work as per the
schedule for delivering the work of the project on time.
Task 2: System requirements
Functional requirements
Business requirements It is found that the system must be developed
in such a way that all the stores of the
organization which are situated at different
places can be attacked with the help of the
system by using internet for meeting the
needs of the business (Eckhardt, Vogelsang
and Fernández 2016). In addition to this,
centralized database must be developed for

storing the details of the business as well as
the customers.
Regulatory compliance The system must be developed by adhering
different laws, regulations as well as
guidelines as per the business as violation of
any of the regulatory compliance can
generally create legal punishment.
Security needs The system that is developed must provide
access only to the authorized person for
keeping the information and data safe. The
entry of unauthorized uses within the system
should be obstructed (Khan et al. 2016).
Non-functional requirements
Usability The system should have proper usability and
the system must be utilized only by the
authorized users for accessing information
and data which are confidential.
Availability The developed system should provide 24x7
service so that the information as well as data
from the system can be accessed at any time
in the organization (Zhu et al. 2016).
Performance Performance is found as one of the quality

attributes that is helpful in elaborating the
responsiveness of the entire system with the
help of different types of user interactions
(Khan et al. 2016). The response time must be
less such that the performance of the system
can be considered high.
Task 3: Project Cost/benefit analysis
The cost benefit analysis that is done in the below table helps in showcasing that the
project which is conducted is very much feasible as the ROI of the project is 0.19 (Celli et al.
2018). The detailed calculation is showcased in the below table.

Task 4: Project management and scheduling
Work breakdown structure that is given below helps in disintegrating the project into
different project activities and phases such that the work of the entire project gets accomplished
within a specific period of time (Sequeira and Lopes 2015). However, the Gantt chart is defined
as one of horizontal bar which further assits in visually representing the entire plan of the project
which further showcases the task list, timeline, milestones as well as progress of the project quite
effectively. The figure that is provided below showcases WBS ID, task list as well as the entire
timeline that is needed for executing each of the project.

(Source: Created by Author)
It is found that the WBS is a hierarchical decompositions of the project activities
whereas a Gantt chart can generally be formed from the WBS which further helps in tracking the
project time (Sharon and Dori 2017). The Gantt chart is further utilized for reflecting the
progress of the project over time.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
It is found that the requirements, goals as well as constraints that are mentioned in the
project are found to be reasonable as they generally guide the manager to accomplish the
activities of the project as per the plan that is created by the project manager. Thus, the goals and
objectives of the organization can be accomplished with the help of the mentioned goals,
objectives as well as project constraints.
Task 5: System information investigation technique
The stakeholders who are associated with the information system development are
mainly listed below:
Project manager
Project planner
IT manager
Application manager
Coder
Financial manager
Quality analyst
HR manager
Database administrator

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The three most investigation techniques that are utilized within the project are mainly listed
below:
Interviewing: In this particular technique of investigation, each of the team members of
the project are interviewed in order to gather information that is beneficial or useful for
the project (Sikka and Dhir 2017). The issues that the team members face can also be
identified with the help of this specific method.
Researching: In this particular technique, proper research is mainly done for analyzing
different types of opinions that the different stakeholder of the project holds. In addition
to this, this investigation technique helps in giving proper information for effectively
elaborating the different types of observed events very much effectively.
Testing: It is found that in order to investigate any information about the project,
monthly testing can be undertaken (Taheri et al. 2017). The result of the test helps in
analyzing the present status of the project and further helps in analyzing the information
that is mainly required for the project.
Reflection and conclusion
It can be concluded from the entire paper that the newly developed system for RME
organization is considered to be beneficial as it not only helps in replacing the utilization of
spreadsheet but further helps in successfully managing the organizational operations properly. In
addition to this, the information and data of both the business as well as customers can be stored
within the centralized database. It is analyzed that the entire paper reflects that the information
system that is developed is feasible and it will get completed within 4 months of time. Moreover,
different types of investigation techniques are also elaborating that helps in investigating
different types of information of a project.
