work (Bucero and Englund, 2015). Organization selected for this assignment is Essential
Clothing Company, which is situated at Uttoxeters, United Kingdom. They offer wide range of
clothing, decorative and gift items at very attractive as well as affordable price. Now they are
planning to produce new website and intranet which help them in conducting effective internal
communication. Topics included in report are introduction and meaning of project, its
characteristics and role of project manager. Along with this it will also include application of
theoretical framework and evaluation of composition and management of teams in project
environment.
MAIN BODY
1. Define a project, its characteristics and the role of the project manager.
A project is define as activities which are conducted in order to meet specific standard of
the procedure which is adopted for developing a particular products and services (Burke, 2013).
It is also consider as collaboration of activities that include research as well as design work for
gaining unique outcome. In respect of Essential Clothing Company, the project decided by their
project manager is development of new website and intranet that will help them conducting
effective internal communication. For this it is essential for respective company project manager
to consider several characteristics of project while developing their project, some of them are
mentioned below:-
 It is necessary for Essential Clothing Company project manger to develop a unique
project as well as it should not be used again in the same way (The seven key
characteristics of a project, 2019).
 Project must cut across the lines of respective organization because it must be draw from
the skills and abilities of manager.

Company's project manager to consider. While this they also play several important role so that

project will be develop and accomplish in effective way, from which some are mentioned

adopt is PMI (Project management institute). This framework is consist of five basic elements
i.e. initiating at which project manager will identify requirement of website and intranet, then
they will conduct planning related to it so that they can start working on development process

execution in which project manager of respective company will execute the process i.e.
development of website and intranet and then at forth stage they will control at which they find is
website and intranet is working properly or not. If the process will conduct successfully then last
stage will be closure at which project manager will close the project.
Methodologies-
Project manager of respective company may adopt Agile and waterfall model because
these are more appropriate for project which are based on internal outcome. Agile is consider as
combination of iterative as well as incremental procedure model that will focus on adaptability of

whole procedure into small steps which help staffs in conducting more effective work. On the
other hand waterfall model which is introduced by Winston W. Royce in year 1970. This
frameworks is appropriate for manufacturing as well as construction sector because it is

conducted in small portions. The respective frameworks is divided into six stages i.e. system and
software requirement, analysis, design of software, coding, testing and operation.
3. Critically evaluate the composition and management of teams in a project environment.
If a company develop a team on the basis of their project they need to consider several
composition so that they can manager team effectively. These components are based on the level
of the project such as if the project is hard it then project manager need to consider various
aspects so that project will complete impressively (Hwang and Ng, 2013). In respect of Essential

that their internal communication get improved. For project composition required by respective
company project manager are skilled and experienced software developer, capital resources so
that work will conduct in effective manner with proper resources. Along with this they also
required professional staffs so that they can conduct their work in effective manner by their

necessary for respective company project manager to manager all these components so that they
staffs can conduct work effectively in order to attain goal and objective.
