If the overall scale and the scope of the project is considered, several management issues
are likely to arise along with varied effectiveness on the project. It is important for the
management team to identify the possible management issues and determine appropriate plan to
effectively combat these issues that can arise. Some of the possible management issues that
might be faced by the project team members during the course of the project are as follows.
Team Management Issues – Considering there are various members that are involved in
any endeavour for an organisation including the project management team and the technical
experts team, there are bound to be various types of ideas and skill sets for each individual
member (Meredith, Mantel Jr and Shafer 2017). As a result, conflict may arise during the project
resulting in serious complications within the team and also the project as a whole. It is the duty
of the project in-charge / chief to ensure these team management issues do not arise and call
team meetings frequently so as to ensure there is always exchange of ideas among team members
rather than conflicts.
Project Management Issues – Very often, there are project management issues occurring
in various types of project. Some of the common project management issues include scope

management issues, time management issues and cost management issues (Kerzner 2017). These
issues occur when the project manager does not gets involved in accurate planning of various
aspects of the endeavour and just goes with the flow of work. In order to mitigate these issues, it
is required to develop each and every management plan for various aspects of the project with
highest accuracy during the planning phase of the project.
The same idea of management issues is applicable for the Mawson Pass Project. In this
particular project, which is under focus, the manager is required to deploy his / her team to plan
the project with the best possible accuracy during the detailed planning phase of the project. The
team members can utilise various tools and techniques related to management of a project
including software tools to develop the plan accurately.
In order to allow more effective management of the project, one of the most essential
tools in the field is work breakdown structure or in short, WBS. A WBS is a very important
project management tool that will ensure the work requirements are much more simplified and
easy to allocate to respective stakeholders (Fleming and Koppelman 2016). Hence, for the
project, the WBS is developed and shown as follows.
