Quality Plan
In any project, the most important factor that is involved for having success in the project
is developing a quality plan of the project. The main purpose to develop a quality plan is
developing the main aim of the project along with the project deliverables so that the quality
standard process can be adhered in the project (Ling and Li, 2019). It the mainly the duty of the
project manager to guide the stakeholder as well as the team working under the PM so that they
are able to meet the quality requirements of the project, maintaining the quality assurance in the
project. The quality plan of the project mainly deals with seven major components and those
seven components are followed by the project manager handling the project of FitnessVentures
Ltd for renovating the 2 storeyed building in Hatfield.

As the premise that has been offered to the project sponsor of FitnessVentures Ltd was a
former warehouse and needs fixing as well as fixings on the floor and the walls of the building.
As the youth centre will have member of age 13 years to 18 years, the walls are to decorated so
that they like it, rooms are ti be built and all the equipment as well as facilities are to be provided
in the centre. The project sponsor has also demanded for game facility that will include pool,
table tennis, table football and many such kind of games in the building so that those might
attract the youths to gather there and take part in the activities involved.
For designing the building according to the requirement of the project sponsor, there
needs to be quality plan for developing the project.
Components of Quality Plan: Six basic components that are to be applied in this
particular project by the project manager are stated below are:
1. Having brief description of the project undertaken: The brief of the project is to be
detailed that is being undertaken explaining the summary of the project, the way the project will
work and what materials are actually needed for fulfilling the scope of the project. This includes
the project summary, project proposal, the scope of the project as well as the project breakdown
are to be explained in the project document. The briefs of the projects are to be shared with all
the stakeholders of the FitnessVentures Ltd project and make them understand that how the
working progress of the construction will be carried out throughout the life cycle of the project.
All the scope, description and materials are to be noted down in proper documented format.
2. Controlling the quality plan of the project: As the project of reconstructing the
Hatfield includes the project management methodologies, all the construction process will be
carried out as per the processes defined the framework of project management. The project

manager has already been assigned for this particular project and he has the responsibility to deal
with the execution plan of the project. All other staffs in the construction process that includes
construction manager, section manager, procurement engineer, financial engineer, quality analyst
and many more.
3. Defining the scope of the project: The construction project that is being carried out
needs a scope of the project. The scope actually defines the rulebook of the project. For this
particular project, the scope of the project already being defined at the starting of the project. The
business before starting the schedule of the project needs to know about the scope of the project
and outlining the scope influences the project.
4. Project organization Chart: This chart is an important part of quality analysis of the
project (Rumane, 2016). The organization chart describes the structure of the project team that is
involved in the project that has direct relationships and indirect relationships in the project. There
are set of roles that has responsibilities in the project construction.
5. Audit plan for Quality project: The main reason behind auditing the quality plan is
determining the methodologies that are involved in a project that have been chosen by the project
manager. A plan of quality is used in determining the concerns that are stakeholders have in the
project including the team members and the sponsors associated with the project. Once the
project quality is completed, recommendation related to the project is to be done.
6. Inspection as well as testing the procedure: All the procedures included in the project
are to be inspected and testing before delivering the project to the sponsor. Inspection and the
test plans are mainly done to have a quality control on the project. The inspection and the testing

plan includes inspection activities that provides assurance, records as well as control on work
that is to be carried out in the project.
Amendments of quality plan n construction project: There are many amendments of
the construction while managing the quality plan. The project manager should have a monthly
review on the quality plan of the project. There should be sufficient foundation that is to be
amended in the quality plan of the project that are to be carried out (Howarth and Greenwood,
2017). It should ensure all the management objectives that are required to achieve the results that
are required. All the improvements that are possible are to be discussed, and lastly the potential
danger areas are to be uncovered and eliminate those waste or loss included. It is necessary to
have an inspection about the work progress and gain approval for the authorized representative at
all the stages of the work. The quality plan involved in a project should have explanatory text
that describes the nature of the project as well as the quality that is expected by the project
sponsor. All the organization policies are to be maintained according to the ISO standard and the
policies are to be applied in the project. All the other quality criteria or the policies that are
included in the organization are to be explained in the project management. The control
procedures are to be described in the project in the quality plan of the project.
According to ISO Standard of Quality Plan: According to the international standard
included in activities of quality management, the ISO standard was revised as ISO 10005:2018 –
Quality management – Guidelines for quality plans. Because of its significance and the need for
responding the alterations are made to the latest edition ISO 9001. The new revised standard has
many number of changes. Quality plan is considered as the main part of completing a project
successfully. This ISO standard of quality management system is mainly applicable for all the
organizations that is irrespective of location, industry as well as the size.

This standard offers guidance on the quality plan of a project. This states about how the
organization will provide the intended output that includes process, service, project, contract as
well as product that are involved in the project. Under the quality plans of the ISO standards,
there should be in independent activity of management.
The ISO standard presents the guidelines that are used for establishing, accepting,
applying, revising, reviewing the plans related to quality of the project. It is applicable mainly for
the quality plans that are intended for output and mainly focuses primary the provision of output.
It helps to compliment the guidance that is to be provided in the ISO standard of quality
management. The main advantages of the quality plan mainly includes in the assurance of the
project. With the quality plan, the users can assure an increase in motivation of the project. It
might give an opportunity for improvement as well as innovation (Rumane, 2017). This standard
revises, cancels, as well as replaces the 2005 edition of quality guidance plan of the project. In
the ISO 9001:2015 has major update on the standard of requirements of system management of
quality. There are so many adjustments that are to be made in the international document that are
reflected in the ISO 10005:2018. There are most terminology from the standard that contains
various number of adjustments that are involved in terminology. Monitoring all the changes from
ISO 9001:2015 the new standard have proper guidelines that helps in understanding the quality
plan as well as incorporates the thinking of risk. Considering the context of organization, and
there should be thinking based on risks are the two main component if the new ISO standard
involved in the system of quality management. It has its own possesses to change the changes
that are beyond the ISO 9001:2015. The clause 4 that is involved in the ISO 10005:2018 is using
the quality plan. In this section, there are many international guidance that outlines the requesting
as well as managing all the external quality plans and helps to cover the quality plans that are

decide in the project. All the terminology that are included in the latest standard are involved
while constructing the project for the FitnessVentures Ltd.
