1) a. Define the Key characteristics of any project.
A project is one kind of effort by which any organization or individual can try to achieve
its business related or non-business related objectives through various stages (Crawford
2014). A project can help to change the organization manner to get the desired outcome and
reduce the rate of failure possibility.
There are seven types of key characteristics in any kind project. They are:
[1] A project always contains a single clear-cut purpose as well as end item.
[2] Each project needs to be unique.
[3] Each project consists of short-term activities.
[4] Always needs to achieve the organizational lines for any project.
[5] Unfamiliarity is involved in every project.
[6] Any organization follows some regulated criteria taking any project.
[7] Every project has a responsibility to achieve the organization’s goal.
b. What is the purpose of the Project Initiation Document (PID).
In the project management, the Project Initiation Document (PID) is the most significant
process that provides the basic for any business project (Fleming and Koppelman 2016). The
PID gather all the information from the initial point of the project and starts the all the
processes related to the project through PRINCE2 project environment. The major purpose of
the PID is to gather the information that are the basics of defining as well planning of any
kind of project. The PID must exceeds the project instruction and defines the main goal of the
project and also determine the reason of achieving the aims.
2) a. What is the Scope Statement for a project?

The scope related statement of the project is one of the important tools that helps to
describe the deliverables of any project that includes key milestone as well as high range
of requirements, project constraints etc. This statement has major significance in any
project because of including in future decision making while considering any changes
according to modify the project (Kerzner 2017). This statement also determines the
borderline of the project and has the clarification on deliverables of the project. In
accordance to this, the scope should follows some items to be an effective such as key
objectives, key deliverables, key milestone, high range of requirements, assumptions,
exclusions, issues of risk, stakeholder review as well as approval (Kerzner 2017).
b. What role does the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) have in such a statement?
The work breakdown structure is one of the important tools in the project
management. With the help of this technique, the project managers can make a plan for the
proper implementation of their project. In the general sense, any project may be categorized
into the time frame actions and every project needs to complete within the proper time as well
as budget. At the finishing time of the project, the project must complete the needs of the
stakeholders (Kerzner 2018). The project management has the various sections such as
planning, implementation, fixed costs and assigning the responsibilities. The work
breakdown structure helps to implement this planning as well as other functional
requirements related procedures so that it can make the effective project implementation.
