1. Development of a project network diagram
The organization that has been nominated for this design and development of the
construction project is ABC construction group. The construction group has created a winning
bid for constructing new manufacturing plant. It has expected from the clients that within a year
the plant will become completely functional. Two development conditions given by the project
manager are-
 If the project team failed to accomplish the project within assigned timeline and
budget then it will raise penalty for the company and
 If the team completes the project within 40 weeks then the team will earn
additional incentives
Some of the project activities will run simultaneously and therefore the project will take
around 220 days to get accomplished. The early start, early finish, late start and late finish are
also calculated for the project. Using Critical Path Method (CPM) a network diagram for the
project is prepared and based on that the total slack is also calculated in the below section.

2. Scheduling the entire project with PERT/CPM
After scheduling the entire construction project it is measured that the project will take
approximately 220 days for successful accomplishment. In order to reduce the complexity the
large project is being segmented into sub activities. The project associates need to complete each
of the project activity with the assigned timeline. Moreover, the project must be completed
before time without any delay. Some of the project activities are operated paralelly to reduce the
planned completion timeline.
