This paper will focus on an organization that deals with flowers and its related business. The
organization is a well-established flower business that deals mainly with the growing and
distribution of flowers to the vast flower market that is there in the world. Although the company
mainly deals with wholesale distribution, it also offers daily delivery services to its customers.
This is to ensure that it does not in any way lock out potential clients that may be interested in
their product and who have no capacity for wholesale purchase. ( Daft, & Marcic, 2016).The
organization has been in existence for almost 35 years and through all this years it has continued
to provide excellent services to its clients. The company mainly started as a boutique kind of
business but later grew to be a main grower and distributor of flowers in the flower industry. The
organization prides itself in dealing with high quality of flowers that are highly demanded in the
flower industry and which fetch good prices and thus the reason why the organization has been
successful for quite a long period. It serves a wide range of clients who include florists, event
stylists, interior designers and several others. The company has quite a number of employees
who are tasked with several duties such as picking of flowers from the farm, maintenance of the
green houses, processing of the flowers and distribution of the flowers to the market. There is a
management team that mainly hinders the operations of the company and ensures that there is no
challenge that will hinder the delivery of excellent and quality services from the company.
( Fayol,2016).
Problem
Organizations encounter several challenges or problem s in the course of their work and
therefore it is no exception for this case.one of the major problem that the organization is facing
is that of poor communication between the relevant departments and section of the company.

This is something that the company has had to struggle for quite along time due to the nature of
the business that it operates. The flower business is a complex and sensitive line of industry and
therefore requires the highest levels of communication in order for the activities of the company
to go on without much interruption. There are various stages of the business right form the
planting to the selling of flowers and his requires adequate and constant communication in order
to minimize loses that may arise.( Haimes,2015).The high number of employees in the
organization creates a big problem in the sense that all of this people need to be fed with the right
kind of information in order for the operations and services of the company to run smoothly. A
small gap in the information channel will lead to a huge number of employees not knowing
exactly what to do and thus they may engage in the normal activities which have already been
adjusted by the new communication from the management. The organization has at times faced
difficulty in the way important information coming from the top management is disseminated to
the lowest levels of the company. This has greatly hindered the effectiveness of some of the
company’s processes such as the distribution which is one of the areas that is highly affected by
the lack of proper communication levels. For instance, there was a particular period in which the
company faced huge losses due to the fact that there was a delay in picking up of flowers at the
distribution points which led to the company not fulfilling g the various orders that it had already
agreed to. Flowers are very sensitive and thus any slight delay will automatically lead to them
going bad and which will in turn bring a lot of loses to the company. ( Kanki, 2019). In this case,
there was a directive on the change of the regular pick up points and this information was not
communicated adequately to the people in charge of this process and thus brought quite a bit of
delay. Therefore this is something that the organization has to adequately deal with in order to

prevent such occurrence from happening again and as such prevent the company from incurring
heavy loses.
Topic : Team Process
Team process can be defined as the procedures that the members of the organization take in
carrying out the goals and missions of the organization.it is also used to establish if the team
members of the organization are growing, developing and improving over time.( Badr, Tran,
Verma, Guntipalli, & Saqee,2018).Therefore team process is an integral part of the organization
and helps in determining the success or not of the company.in relation to the organization in
hand, the lack of proper communication affects in a big way the kind of team process that is
there in the company. A good team process relies heavily on the channeling of proper
communication that will ensure every member of the team is fully aware of the role that he or
she is required to perform I order for the team to be successful. The lack of good communication
between the team members may also affect negatively the work of the team and thus they will be
ineffective. Team processes work on the principles and concepts of proper and constant
information from the communication channels available and thus and gap in delivering of this
information will greatly hinder the activities of the team. In trying to leverage for a solution, the
findings of the activities of the team can be aligned in such a manner as to ensure that they
inform the kind of information that is to be used and the various ways in which the
communication levels of the organization can be improved. The concept of planning in the team
is highly affected by the lack of proper communication and thus the team will lack direction. The
organization should therefore use this to ensure that they come up with a solution in regards to
effective communication. (Leskaj,2017).

The organization would wish not to incur loses and thus the need to find several ways of dealing
with the problem. The organization needs to set up a proper channel of communication within
the company. This may be in the form of selecting department heads that will be tasked with the
delivery of the right information form the management level to the lower levels. They will have
the specific duty of ensuring that the employees are aware of new or improved changes in the
company and also ensure that this is implemented in full. Also the management needs to be able
to engage and interact with the employees.( Rozman,2017).This is important as it will give them
an opportunity to fully explain the reasons as to why the employees are being asked to do or
perform such a task. For such an organization as the flower farm, the high number of employees
needs someone from the top management to explain to them of the various decisions made and
this will make them feel a part and parcel of the organization. Employees are important members
and thus the formulation of strategies of effective communication need to involve them for it to
be successful. (Sayles,2017).
