INTRODUCTION
Project management is the practice of beginner, planning, implementation, controlling
and closing of entire work in order to meet the specific needs. The current study is based upon to
develop music festival and for that three project management methodologies are used with
advantages and disadvantages. Further, report describe network diagram, gantt chart and critical
path that helps to analyses shortest time. Moreover, current report will describe stakeholder
analysis as per their interest and power and then describe WBS chart as well. Lastly, report
present 5 different types of risk that may affect the project and then describe mitigation strategies
as well.
TASK 1
Comparing three project management methodologies with their pros and cons
Agile: It is the starting approach of planning and guiding the project process. In this
method, project manager may breaks down the project into smaller piece by assuring quality.
This approach adopt practices such that continuous deployment using autonomous technique
(Layton and Ostermiller, 2017).
Advantages: this methodology helps to respond changes and generate faster results, as a result,
it leads to customer satisfaction.
Disadvantages: this methodology is not easily understood by many people and due to having
flexible nature, it leads to unpredictable results. If the project manager uses this method, then
only senior programmer are capable to take decision because of having knowledge, while other
cannot (Conforto and Amaral, 2016).
Hybrid: It is another type of project management which combine formal and agile
method which further creates a new project management method (Zuñiga, Flores and Merino,
2018). Moreover, this method also accepts fluidity of project and provide better chance to
resolve the project In more better ways.
Advantages: this method describe methodology in better way and long focus on the final results
as compared to product features.
Disadvantages: It is consider one of the oldest form of methodology and that is why, did not
generate accurate results (Adelakun and et.al., 2017). This project is not used to long term
projects and provide training to operate in this method.

1
Waterfall: In this method, project is completed in different stages in which stakeholder
and customers requirement are gathered In order to develop best plan accordingly. It is used
mostly in construction, IT and software industry because it mainly used in software development
(Stoica and et.al., 2016).
Advantages: This method is simple to operate and saves time and money. As compared to other
project, Waterfall project management makes project easy to manage and understand.
Disadvantages: In its testing stage, it is difficult to make any change in previous stages, that is
why, most of the big firm did not uses this method (Brewer and Dittman, 2018). Sometimes, this
method also excludes client and end user requirement.

Critical path
Path 1: 1 + 2 +4 + 9+ 10 + 21+22
Days= 1 +14 + 7 +2 +2+ 95+ 1 +10
= 132 days
Path 2: 1 + 2 +5 + 9+ 10 + 21+22
Days = 1 +14 + 7 +2 +2+ 95+ 1 +10
= 132 days
From the above, it is analyzed that both path 1 and 2 may be opted in order to implement new
music festival such that both takes minimum 132 days to complete the project. Thus, these are
the critical or shortest possible time in days in which a project will be completed.
TASK 3
Stakeholder analysis
Stakeholder matrix can be used to analyse the different kinds of internal and external
stakeholders associated with the project in following manner:

Figure 1: Stakeholder Management Matrix
Latent here involves those stakeholders who must be kept satisfied at any cost and here they are
the visitors of the music festival who must be able to realize their money’s worth of value.
Promoters are those who will help in widening the familiarity of the product and must be
managed very closely and this involves stakeholders like the sponsors who are sponsoring and
promoting the event.
Apathetic are those who would easily switch over and therefore need to be monitored and
involves stakeholders such as viewers who are buying the passes for the festival and students
who can easily become disinterested (Eskerod and Jepsen, 2016).
Defenders who must be kept closely informed about all the activities going on regarding the
project and these are HOD’s, Dean, teachers, students, advisory committee of the college etc.
who must know how the progress is going of the fest.
Work breakdown structure
It is the management structure which develop short term goal in order to attain the end
goal. Therefore, it is a key project deliverable which is introduce the team's work into different
sections.

TASK 4
Five different types of risk with their mitigation strategies
Risk Analysis Risk Mitigation Strategy
Cost related Risk There can be over or under expenditure and this must be
reduced or controlled by doing expenses as per the budget
formulated earlier.
Schedules related Risk When the project gets delayed unnecessarily, such kind of risk
occurs and it can be transferred to the other party responsible
for such delay (Royer, 2018).
Performance Risk The risk of project failing completely is categorized under this
and this can be controlled by achieving the designated
standards.

7
Market Risk The economy and market forces such as inflation or deflation,
movement of market etc. come under this type and these can
only be accepted because nothing can be done to control them.
Legal Risk All the regulations and legal requirements must be complied
with in order to avoid getting into any kind of legal trouble and
therefore this risk can be avoided.
CONCLUSION
By summing up above report it has been concluded that amongst the various techniques
such as agile, six sigma etc. that are used for project management, the most appropriate one
should be selected based on the activities of the current project. Further, Gantt chart, scheduling
and work break down structure for categorizing the activities to be performed was prepared.
Further in the report, a stakeholder analysis and risk analysis was done along with identification
of appropriate risk mitigation strategies so that project could be accomplished successfully.
