4PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Overview
1.1 Introduction
IT waste management system is a process to extract parts of wastes to sell and reuse the
wastage materials. The e-waste materials are valuable as well as recyclable. In the
supermarket, organic wastes are increasing from increase in human population as well as
urbanization. The supermarkets are increasing awareness among the customers on
environmental. This awareness concerns with disposal of organic wastes. The proposed waste
management system included reduction of total waste amount by reducing and recycling of
waste materials. This system re-introduces organic waste in natural cycle.
1.2 Historical background
IT waste management system is developed in supermarkets so that its organic wastes are
eliminated. The supermarket is facing challenges of air and water pollution due to organic
wastes generated from the market. The system is used to collect, treat as well as dispose of
organic materials discarded. Improper disposal of organic wastes create unsanitary conditions
and those conditions lead to pollution of environment. The organic waste management is
presented with technical challenges. Those wastes create social, economic as well as
administrative issues that are being managed and eliminated. The technical advances are
continued through half of 20th century with development of garbage bins and pneumatic
collection system. Improper storage of organic waste caused problems to pollution as well as
public health. Landfills are designed to minimize risks towards public health and surroundings.
Modern waste management system is developed to recycle and reduce waste at source slightly
than land removal.
1.3 Purpose of the report
The purpose of this particular project report is to deliver organized project strategy for
demonstrating IT waste management system for supermarkets. This system would eliminate
organic wastes and provide a waste free environment.
1.4 Scope of the report
The opportunity of this particular report is to develop waste management system for
supermarkets. This project plan provided with key deliverables, scope management,

3. Explain the usefulness of the system to the stakeholders.(NB: remember the KISS
principle.)
To the project stakeholders, usefulness of organic waste management system is
explained to them so that the system provides storage, collect and disposal of the waste
generated in supermarket and surroundings. The proposed system is important to improve
environmental health and provide solid free living environment.
4. a. Identify and describe the software development lifecycle (in brief) you will use and
explain why your team chose this lifecycle.
Lean software development is used as software development lifecycle. The development
team has selected this lifecycle as it relies on the practices used in lean manufacturing
environment for establishing effective and quick development culture. This technique is
used to eliminate waste, make decisions, deliver fast, empower the team and view the
development by using the waste management system.
b. At each phase on the SDLC explain what part of the system will be developed. (In
brief)
The lean project team is aimed to improve over the project plan by eliminating organic
waste in the supermarket. The phases of lean SDLC are:
Planning and requirements: It is the initial step of the SDLC where the requirements of
project clients are collected.
Iteration plan: It is the event where the project team members can determine how the
team backlog can commit to deliver through the iteration.
Implementation: The project team uses the project management tools for performing the
project tasks. It is required to imagine workflow as it is not possible to detect with project
problems. The project developers are required to avoid waste on earlier stages.
Testing: The tests are required for the lean projects. It helps the plan developers to deliver
products to the clients on scheduled period.
Eliminate waste: The project team can analyse work, detects the actions and avoid waste
at the time of next iterations.
